I can't remember if Ricky Steamboat was around WCW in the background at that time, but if he was & got a chance to see that best of 7 series between those two I'm sure he was smiling at the fact that old school ring psychology was actually alive & well in the 90s. At least for those 7 classic matches it was anyway.
So damn heartbreaking how things ended up because he was a staple in shaping so many careers. When chris put over randy, MVP, and others you knew they were to be taken serious. Him and booker made the best best of 5 series ever.
Their best of seven back in 98. Those were some CLASSIC matches!!!

I remember when Booker and Stevie Ray showed up at WCW/NWA. Man, back then, WCW had THE best tag teams in the world. It was awesome. I mean, you could main event with a tag team match, putting asses in the seats. But you could really tell Booker was something special. He was good on the mic even then. And he's obviously an excellent worker. I always knew he could go far, given the chance.
