Miss you my friend. It's that time of year where I really start to think of you again & shedding tears. So grateful to have known you & collaborated with you and for our very long friendship. You were 20+ years a part of my life, a huge inspiration to my own arts & I truly miss your presence. Thinking of you & listening to your music again, still. So glad that you left all of your music, this s part of you, with all of us. I hope to cross paths again in the next life. To Justins family & other friends, those who knew him, my heart goes out to all of you ♡ He touched a lot of peoples lives
I've loved the original version of this song for years, but having just listened to this version I finally understand the meaning behind the lyrics, quite superb.....superb
Heart death of the universe? Iron and carbon? Room to be somewhere in the light while Humanity has gone down The drain! Should I care on the 47th Presidential inauguration? Are we looking into each others' eyes? Wonderful piano, wonderful words!
Highest level Songwriting: "Well, I've been to London" || Translation: Well, I made a good living and met all of my material needs (for centuries London represented the center of the business world) "And I've been to gay Paris" || Translation: And I lived it up too! (Paris has always symbolized high-culture and the Joy of Life) "I followed the River and I got to the Sea." || Translation: I followed my dreams and (for the most part) they came true. "I've been down on the bottom of a world full of lies" || Translation: Many people (and cultural rules) ended up disappointing me... "I ain't looking for nothing in anyone's eyes." || Translation: But I have no regrets, and I won't be disappointed again...because I've lowered my expectations.
Mostly from the public domain; but I took the one at time mark 0:37. It's the Hindu Kush mountains, at sunrise, from inside Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan -- summer 2010. It wasn't dark yet there in 2010...but it was getting there.
The last pictures are my homage to F. Scott Fitzgerald's great protagonist, Jay Gatsby, who purchased a mansion just to be across the water from his one true but unattainable love, Daisy... “If it wasn't for the mist we could see your home across the bay,” said Gatsby. “You always have a green light that burns all night at the end of your dock.”

just another comment to say I listen to this version every night as I get ready for sleep This song, your voice and the piano combine to make a truly masterful achievement. Thanks again..
takes cojones to cover the king. the accompaniment is flat-out crystalline.

Love these lyrics. I like your voice. Piano has beautiful tender notes.
I resonate with the song. Thank you.
You done good. Been a Dylan fan since 64. You done good.

How can you not be a fan of Dylan and like this song
Very pretty
Very easy to listen to, fantastic cover of a great song. Thank you so much.
I agree I cried
This is probably the best version of any Dylan song ever. I’m not a fan of Dylan covers but this is beautiful
I love it ❣️👏🎩
check out DESIRE one of the early Concept Albums🤠
I could not agree with you more.
XTC - All Along the Watch Tower.
Believe me, you are a Dylan fan. Don't worry about it. You'll be alright.
Bob is and was one of America's greatest poets . His lyrics all jell together in rhyme.
this Dylan's song is sooooo nice... so deep... I am in love with him... and you too probably...
The power of this song knows you're a safe pair of hands.what a tribute this truly is , thanks
I love that they changed the lyric, “every nerve in my body is naked and numb “ to VACANT and numb”. Both are exactly how I feel.
Nice catch!
@@LarrySmithin2012 Thank you. Bob.
I've always heard Bob Dylan's original lyric as "vacant and numb." The only time I've heard "naked and numb" was in Jimmy LaFave's cover of the song.
Also, I think in the original, Dylan says, "I've been to the bottom of a whirlpool of lies," which I like better.
I'm getting Tom Wait's vibes, and loving it
Superb cover, best I've heard yet.
How can you not like this!
❤💗💓👍🏼👍🏼👍🏻🙏🏻👏👏👏👏
@shelparks988 better is "how can ANYONE not like this"😎
This is beautifully done. Thank you for sharing.
Wish this was on spotify. Love it. Turn the lights out and go to sleep w it ...thank you
Wow is all I can say! I am standing still my friend.
the first few chords I learned came from a Bob Dylan songbook THANK YOU Bob❣🤠🍁🌺🌄🎶
The best song ever, and a truly inspiring cover, beautiful….
Beautiful version of a Dylan Work
WHO took those photographs? Enchanting, EACH one! Perfect for Bob’s magical song.

outstanding. all around delivery
Thank you Larry Smith. It’s lovely 🥲.
That piano complements your voice as well ✌️
How refreshing to see a comment where 'complement' is correctly used. Most people put 'compliment'.
So nice to see so many complimentary 😉 comments online. Music is magic in the way it brings us together from all of the corners of the 🌎

My favorite Bob Dylan. Song....everrrrr
An anthem for our times! If we want it darker, we've got the Cohen!
Your not just whistling Dixie. Cohen strikes the deepest darkest depth of the soul and I absolutely love it 💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤
Just gorgeous
Beautiful ❤️ Thank you 🙏 Blessings to all
well done smokey vocals nail the soul of this tune
Beautiful
if you want to sing with:
Shadows are fallin′ and I've been here all day
It′s too hot to sleep and time is runnin' away
Feel like my soul has turned into steel
I've still got the scars that the sun didn′t heal
There′s not even room enough to be anywhere
It's not dark yet but it′s gettin' there
Well, my sense of humanity has gone down the drain
Behind every beautiful thing there′s been some kind of pain
She wrote me a letter and she wrote it so kind
She put down in writin' what was in her mind
I just don′t see why I should even care
It's not dark yet but it's gettin′ there
Well, I′ve been to London and I been to gay Paris
I've followed the river and I got to the sea
I′ve been down on the bottom of the world full of lies
I ain't lookin′ for nothin' in anyone′s eyes
Sometimes my burden is more than I can bear
It's not dark yet but it's gettin′ there
I was born here and I′ll die here against my will
I know it looks like I'm movin′ but I'm standin′ still
Every nerve in my body is so naked and numb
I can't even remember what it was I came here to get away from
Don′t even hear the murmur of a prayer
It's not dark yet but it's gettin′ there
🤝😻👍
Thank you so much for the lyrics 🌺
