It’s actually very interesting- since singing has to do a lot with breathing, and as we are born we breath “correctly”. Due to growing up our posture change and with it our breathing techniques deteriorate. So there is a chance she growled using the same technique a professional metal vocalist does!
Okay, I know this is a cute joke, but as a music education major who has studied some child vocal development and psychology, this is actually super valuable! Engaging with one another in this way is great for bonding as well as creating a positive association with vocalizing. If you do silly things like this with your kids when they are little, they are more likely to be comfortable with and enjoy singing when they grow up! She is also learning from you by doing call-and-response. Her imitations were actually VERY good for a two year old. She matched your rhythms and timbres very well, and she “approximated” the pitches. Even though she didn’t copy the notes exactly, she imitated the melodic contour, and that’s amazing for 2! Keep singing with her, daddy!
I know this seems like silly play but the fact that this baby can mimic dad’s sounds so well is very important for learning. I believe that people view this channel strictly as entertainment, but there are some amazing educational moments here. Great job, dad and baby!!
As a singer and singing teacher, this child is showing special ability! She does relative pitch, observes the length of the sounds and matches them, imitates the quality and on top of all that includes the emotion! Ripe for training!😀
My 18 month old grandson loves watching this. Even in his worst of tantrums, we can start this video, and he will stop and smile and be mesmerized. We are grateful to have this during the pandemic. It is not just a diversion, or entertainment, but a way to let our grandson know what a friend might be like.
I recently turned 24 and i never knew if i want children because i see so many stressed out parents in my life but when i watch your videos it just looks like the greatest thing in life! Thank you for showing the good side!
There 're always good sides! 😄 Lucky is a bit necessary, but I love be a parent! My son is 21 now and I was 22 when he was born. He changed my life in positive. I worked hard, but he is a wonderful human being.
Mother’s Dozen by Joyce Fields is a great, short, to the point book that covers all the key parts of raising small humans into happy healthy big humans. If you cover what's in there you and your (potential) children will have good chances of having a great time & them growing to have a great life.

I know he’s being funny, but as a music teacher with a masters degree in music education I can say this actually is how to teach a toddler to sing. Good job!

How can he just sit there and be calm while she makes those sounds? I couldn't! Every sound she makes makes makes me want to go and hug her, I'm melting!
Oh my sweet Buddha, this reminds me SOO much of what it was like spending time with my little girl… back when she was actually little💔😭 She was always so content and happy to just sit around with me, watching as I played my acoustic guitar, or ukulele, and singing. She would look up at me like I was just the coolest, most awesome person in the whole entire world❤ She would sit there for hours; singing with me, asking questions about how to record. I would play guitar and she would start rocking to the rhythm, then she’d close her eyes, getting into it, and she’d start singing some random made up song about how much she loves her daddy. My favorite was something like: “I lub my daddy, he makes me so happy. My daddy is my best friend, he’s the bestest daddy, there’s ever ever been!” ♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️ … annndd then she would start throwing down with death growls and “Bleghs” while I played some basic ass chord progression on the acoustic🤣😂🤣😂 But now she is 12 years old… it just seemed like the more she grew up, the less moments like those occurred😔 I don’t believe it changed for any specific reason… we are still extremely close, she’s always been a “Daddy’s Girl” from the very first moment she came into this world, but over time she just sort of lost the interest I guess? She found new hobbies, got started in playing volleyball (which we love to practice and play together) she got into playing games (which I have never been a big fan of) and over time she just sorta quit wanting to play and sing along. The last thing the two of us did musically together was when Olivia Rodriguez came out with her song “Drivers License” I was actively working on recording beats, instrumentals, and laying down vocal tracks one day and she just came into my office, sat down beside me and started asking questions just like she used to😭😍 she was super interested in hearing the different vocal effects and she was like “I wish there was some way for us to record me singing over top of a song I know and use the vocal effects on my voice but like without the actual singer singing, like just my voice” I was so excited and was like we can absolutely do that, just name whatever song you want! She picked that one and I immediately found the chords, learned it and recorded it all right there in front of her, and for the first time in years she was looking up at me just like she used to all those years ago🥰 She was so ecstatic with the final outcome and for weeks it was all she could talk about although she was too self conscious to show anyone else and made me pinky promise not to post it to the world. Even though she’s gone back to seeming uninterested in it now, it was still really nice to share that with her again even if it may have been the last moment like that. Now don’t get me wrong, her and I still have a lot of life ahead of us together and I’m sure at some point she will want to make music together again, and while I am soooo unbelievably proud of the phenomenally intelligent, unbelievably funny, kind, caring, and talented young woman she is becoming, I will FOREVER cherish the days spent just like this short video of you and your little girl♥️ Now I also have a 3yr old little boy (who is the exact opposite of my daughter in every way🤣) but I will forever be grateful to my little girl for being the kid to teach me what it means to know, and give, truly unconditionally love, to show me the meaning of life, and most importantly, the kid that taught me what it means to be a father. Cherish these days, each and every one you get, eventually they will become the greatest memories you could ever ask for.
