The raid 1 and 2, are the best fighting/action movies. Absolutely amazing and highly recommend those. I have also thoroughly enjoyed Extraction 1 and 2, with a slight preference to 1. I was especially happy with this movie after the very disappointing Wick 4 movie. The action scenes in that movie just seem like slapstick where as in extraction it feels like every move has so much more weight behind it. Wick 4 was just downright silly.

I just finished watching 1&2 back to back, this will be an unpopular opinion but it’s far better than John wicks cinematography, taking nothing away from wicks as it’s incredible but that one long uncut 21 minute take from when he enters the prison till the train crashes was like nothing I’ve ever seen, I absolutely live for long uncut continuous scenes and these two movies blew my mind with them, absolutely 10/10

I like to think Tyler and Nik's possible romance is more on the subtle side of things. Why else does Nik have an unwavering trust for Tyler even as far as going to the point of actually staying by his side even when things didn't look all that good for him during his time in the hospital?
Personally I actually like this type of romance subplots where any possible hints are teased. I'm not saying I'm against the occasional kissing or sex between the lead male and female characters. But often times I find them getting to that point in their relationship to be too soon. Like I'd like to give the two characters at least one full movie to develop their possible romantic relationship and then by the next movie, by about probably halfway, that's when the pay off hits with the two of them sharing their first kiss.
This is what I'm doing for my storybook I'm writing. The story is about Matt Santos, 24, a former Calivadan Army Ranger who just recently got out of military service to rebuild and reconnect with his mom and stepfather. However weeks after getting out of service, his mother is shot dead outside of court and his friend in the FBI Maria Garcia, 23, promises justice for him which she later found she cannot fulfill after her superior shoots down the idea immediately. After breaking this news to Matt, he goes on a violent spree after coming across a suspicious man who spelled out his mother's name over the phone. From here on out, it basically becomes The Punisher and then eventually becomes Extraction 2 once Matt and Maria become allies. They even have their moments of saving each other sprinkled throughout the story.
As much as I like Chris Hemsworth's character of Tyler Rake who is clearly a badass, Golshifteh Farahani's character of Nik Khan is the one I consider to be a badass in her own right even though her fights consists of her having her own struggles. That's not to say Tyler doesn't struggle in his action moments, he definitely does. But seeing Nik actually struggling in her fights is not only refreshing but also realistic. Because if you look at the science, the average woman is physically weaker than the average man. Of course keep in mind there are exceptions to this but this is simply the norm. No sexism involved. Plus both characters have their emotional moments with Tyler mourning for the death of his son and Nik mourning the death of her brother. Which again is refreshing to see after seeing so many movies of both male and female action heroes being cold and emotionless which should not be.
To me, this is the best action movie I've seen in recent years. Especially with so many movies filled with "The Message." Barbie can GTFO. Because it should say a lot to Hollywood and their mentally-ill activists when their movies in theaters are failing while movies like this on Netflix are rapidly gaining popularity and traction. My middle fingers go out to these woke activists.
Thank you, Sam Hargrave, Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, and everyone else involved in making these movies.
Edit: Although my story has a male protagonist and female deuteragonist being badasses fighting alongside one another while even having some romantic banter early on in the story, there is no scene of the two kissing, about to kiss, having sex, or about to have sex. It's all about the violent action while having the occasional romantic banter thrown in every once in a while. Although I will not confirm nor deny that this relationship of theirs may evolve into something more by the next story being written.

The first 40 minutes of extraction 2 are absolutely astonishing. They feel intimate and simple but well crafted. howvever for me at least, the remaining building fight section seemed a bit too big for hardgrave to really show off his directiny skills and it was too repetitive. Whilst the end fight between rake and the nagasi man was amazing and wasnt drawn out, rakes final ambush was really underwhelming, it was litteraly like 2 guys vs rake with some unneedee explosions. They could have done something really good with a solid snake esq. stealth scene, but instead it was just a few underwhelming explosions with his grenade launcher. The introduction of Nik and her brother was absolutely amazing and well played. Also why did they not include anythign about ovi?
    Solid film 7.5/10

Very very unpopular opinion. I Disliked this movie... a lot! The story was a bit too cliché, predicateable and down right silly in certain areas. I loved the first 1 because it told a great story, the action was grounded, brutal and felt real. In Extraction 2 my biggest criticism is the amount of plot armour they gave Tyler. The 2 scenes I hated the most, was the ones with the helicopter when they were on the train. The first helicopter scene where Tyler hides behind a skinny ladder while the helicopter is spraying at him was stupid af, then later on when the heli moves to the front of the train and is literally spraying a gatling gun directly at Tyler, Tyler pops up in the same area that the heli is spraying with no fear of the hundreds of bullets flying his way (That would've killed anyone else immediately in that scenario) and takes the heli down.
Extraction 1 had some over the top action scenes but they were grounded and realistic. Extraction 2 was filled with too many l should've died here moments but I wont because "writing" The other scene I disliked was when Nik was unconscious and sliding almost off the building, Tyler catches her with one hand, holds her and throws her through a window🤨 In that moment I questioned was I watching Tyler or Thor? The amount of strength you would need to catch a person with one hand, hold them and without any momentum throw them through a window with enough impact for it to break. I mean seriously wtf?
This movie was a cash grab, Yes some of the action scenes were amazing, for example the prison scene, but this movie was still a cash grab. Tyler literally died in Extraction 1. The people saying Ex 2 was better than Ex 1 boggles my mind🤨 This movie was a 5/10

Long takes are the worst possible thing for me. I totally get that a director might want to make one as a gimmick and idf the first movie had a long long take that peope talked about then the second is going to get an even longer take.
    1. We follow an actor or group of actors and get zero information about what goes on around them. This means that whatever happens to them is as much of a surprise to me as it is to the actors. There is no tension because I know of zero threats that are out there right now, there is only boo-scares.
    2. Because it's a one-take we allways have to wait for the camera to get into the right position before the next action can happen. Nothing important can happen while something else important is happening because we simply won't see it.
    3. Because it's filmed in real-time the action has to be packed down unrealistically tightly. They cannot drive for three minutes to get somewhere because the audience wil get bored. Instead the enemy has to be right there, all the time. A long take cannot pause the action because then it becomes even more annoying to constantly watch the same p.o.v. of a character who is now literally not doing anything.
To me a long take is just watching a director having fun with his camera crew. It's not telling a story, it's not engaging me in the action, it's him showing off that he can do it.
And more often than not there are obvious cuts in it anyway, which I completely understand because long takes are hard to do, but that just annoys me more; they are so hard to do that they cheat, and the result is not entertaining, it's a tech-demo. So why do it at all?
Oh yes, because people talked about the first one, so now they have to do an even longer one. Pretty soon they'll do a whole movie in one long take. (yes they already did, and nobody is talking about it anymore, I wonder why)

I think first one was way better, even directing felt different. The shots were more intense and unique. Extraction 2 on the other hand felt like they just wanted to make more money by benefiting from the first one. Extraction 2 was boring, predictable, repetitive. Lets throw and lame dialogue, bunch of "black SUVS, alright gun noises, and serious FBI looking faces. That one huge guy 4:57, aka the "arm wrestler" I believe in the real life " could have used more screen time to develop his character instead his was shot dead like in a 15 seconds in a room.
