    Fantastic job Wayne!👏👏👍👍 For me as a German it is of course a special pleasure to see this great Silver Arrow completed.

      The late Stirling Moss was a solid Brit to be sure, but he mentioned more than once that he loved and respected, not only the Mercedes cars, but the entire factory racing team for their organization, preparedness and professionalism. I was fortunate to see in person his iconic 300SLR #722 at the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival a few years back. I got "goose bumps" looking at it knowing the history of this famous car and its fantastic driver!👌👍

    This looks beautiful. When it was upside down it must have been driven by Nigel Mansell, he loved being upside down in racing cars.😂

    For anyone who didn't see it, may I suggest that to protect a model if your screwing into a fuselage or vehicle body - basically anything you don't want to risk scratching - try placing a sheet of cling film over the screwdriver end and screw through that.. then if the screwdriver slips it should skid off but not scratch the model.

    Very nice 😎looked good even without the bodywork, a rare mistake from your good self with the hinge flap 😂😂😇😇.

    Another fine build Wayne and thank you so much for clarifying a few things for me! Sadly though, you have not finished the model. Lol You forgot to attach the 4 fixing pins # 84E, 2 on each side of the engine cover and mud guards. As you like to put it, you make mistakes so that we don't! All the best to you my friend.

    You could always leave the bonnet unscrewed so that it could be lifted off to sho the engine or leave it off and stand bonnet up behind model whn displayed

    Its a great model but I do think all the visible screws used to hold the body work on spoil it slightly, especially the bonnet which would have been hinged on the real car to let you gain easy access to the engine.

    Great video & a beautiful model … seems such a shame that the body & bonnet are all screwed down thus hiding so much of the internal detail

    • @Loulovesspeed
      @Loulovesspeed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is. Wouldn't it be great to have a rolling chassis with the kit or separate to be able to see both the detail as well as the complete model. I have several CMC 1:18 diecast models which were offered with a separate rolling chassis for just that reason. One kit offers the complete model, a rolling chassis, a bare chassis and the engine by itself. Very cool idea to allow seeing everything!

    Looks absolutely amazing. Such as shame to cover all the details underneath.
    Do you know if Agora will be using the Eaglemoss molds for there Mercedes Gull-wing as well as the Bond Aston Martin. I have the Eaglemoss DB completed, and not thrilled with the finished product. That’s why I would buy the Agora DB if it’s a new mold and NOT just a re release of the Eaglemoss kit.

    I think there needs to be a feature where a little puff of smoke comes out of the exhaust when the car "starts" up

    It seems like they would have made the engine cover easier to remove. I can't imagine they'd have to take the time to remove all those screws in the pit lane on the original car.

    Wayne, I think you've missed a screw on the engine cover at the front near side ( next to the white screw).

    I don’t know why the universal joints have to be connected with screws they should use pins instead

    Seems a shame the bonnet is screwed down so comprehensively giving no quick access to that beautifully modelled engine.

    • @davidgriffiths4844
      @davidgriffiths4844 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think I would CA glue in the screw heads into the bonnet, and back panel and cut the threads off, so that I could remove them to display the internals. I did something similar with the nose cone of the Pocher Lotus 72D, to allow the inner parts to be seen. For the W196R that is even more important, so much detail hidden!

    All you need now is a large moth to sit in the driver seat ( and you can call it Stirling ? )

    great build Wayne
    but sadly another great model ruined by all those screws just like the London bus surely there is a better way to attach the body without all those ugly screws

  • @rickgregory9616
    @rickgregory9616 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A very nice-looking car, but what a disappointment that all the work and detail that went into building the engine is permanently hidden. On the real car did they have to unscrew the top to work on the engine? At the least, have the top secured by magnets or something. Nice addition to the collection.

  • @mbwoods2001

    Thats gonna be awkward when u want to open the bonnet to show the engine and have to undo all those screws!!

  • @mikeking2539
    @mikeking2539 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    😢😱☹ All that hard work makiong the engine etc, and then you can't see it because the bodywork is screwed on! 😳😳😱 Is there not a bit to cover the round hole in the bonet, where we can see a red thing, just under the nomber 12?

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope

    • @Loulovesspeed
      @Loulovesspeed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is openly exposed for quick access when needed, just like the real car.

      @mikeking2539 - Just curious as to your age? You do sound a little unfamiliar with the mechanical aspects of the engine and components. 🙂
