Ferro Concepts - Bison Belt - Install Video

  • Two features not synonymous with the traditional battle belt: lightweight and low profile. We set out to develop a belt constructed with those elements in mind and sacrifice nothing along the way. Designed for and in collaboration with special operations and law enforcement professionals, the Bison belt is the next evolution in battle belt design.
To provide optimal gear stabilization, we utilized a single layer of laser-cut thermoplastic as the framework. This technology reduces overall weight and thickness drastically but retains better rigidity than traditional methods. Integrated through the entire core of the belt is continuous 1” tubular webbing from buckle to buckle for strength. Lightweight webbing was selected for reduced overall bulk and ease of installing MOLLE compatible products.
For reliable fastening, the Bison Belt is equipped with a tried and true D-Ring Cobra® buckle. The inside of the belt is lined with hook Velcro for quick and secure don/doff capability with the included inner pant belt which completes the Bison Belt system.
Use Ranger Bands to better secure MOLLE products.
    -Low profile
    -Lightweight
    -MOLLE compatible
    -Rated to 3000lbs

Been looking for a new battle belt and the fact that y’all actually took the time and showed how to put items on has me sold. Very interesting “keeper” system and you went old school with the “ranger band” to secure that pouch in. Never occurred to me that would do the trick. Solid system!!

Ferro, the apple of gear because “it just works!”
Comfortable, slim design, rigid and works like a charm. Two pieces (not three like the copy-cat version), no hook Velcro on the inner belt to have to hide. Best belt design I’ve seen in 30+ years of special operations work / experience.

These look really slick however from experience I know that velcro when subjected to the mud, dirt, and grime of field use tend to slowly fail over time. I'm ready to buy but can't get past this issue in my head. What makes this velcro able to withstand actual field use?

The $30 inner belt. You replace it when needed re use the more complex external belt with a new $30 inner, every few years if at all really. You run in mud for work hmmm, spray it down with a hose and air dry it in the sun after

Would this belt be good for someone that prefers wearing over clothing rather than through the belt loops of a pant?
    Thanks.

You need to wear the inner belt through the belt loops and then the outer belt velcro's to the outside. It is not meant to be used as a belt over a jacket for example.

You would be better served with something like a T-Rex Arms Orion. Old school battle belt. Just be advised that they are bulky as hell. They also usually have a rubbery type material on the backside to reduce sliding around circularly... Which barely works that well because clothes move around. Your shirt will get hiked up and moved around. I tried that type of belt in the Marines. They all suck.
Your other option is the copycat GBRS belt which has the soft 'loop' velcro on the back of the belt and the abrasive 'hook' velcro on the inner belt. However, since the soft velcro has ZERO friction/non slip rubber type, the belt will slide around your body circularly if you wear it over clothes (i.e. not using the inner belt).
The GBRS belt is a NICHE item for those who for some reason want a belt while wearing dive gear or some shit.

You can attach Qore performance Ice Vents to the inside and use it as such if you wish, however this is designed as a 2 piece belt. Inner Velcro belt which goes into pant loops, outer belt attaches to it from the outside of your pants.
