Aaron Judge just had the greatest single season as a right handed hitter in history w/a 223 ops+ and 11.7 oWAR besting Roger Hornsby 1924 222 ops+ and 11.5 oWAR of 1924. He is an amazing player. What an amazing player.
Not having Nestor as that lefty starter at home hurts if Yankees lose a home game.

Picking up Jazz was a massive plus for the Yankees.
Yankees have a solid 4 man playoff rotation and a historical level 1-2 lineup punch. If playoff Stanton shows up this could be a lot of fun.
Solid? I am not convinced of that . 2 of their starters have never started in the playoffs before

You almost had me convinced Jack 😂 despite the number's, this Yankees team is average. Like many have said, there are still some missing pieces. But I am rooting for them and I hope I am proven wrong. We shall see how this plays out.
Look great speech and somewhat on target. However I count at least 11 games lost this season on Boone' bone headed trust in several bull pen moves, most because he trusted Holmes. Then I count 3 losses additional on Boone alone for not holding Torres accountable for his gaffs. He benched him once all year. Count Torres mistakes Boone. And lastly Boone refuses to give the steal sign to men on first base. Yankees lead the league in GIDP. All those losses are on Boone and he needs to go win or lose.

I said before the season that getting Juan Soto would add at least 10 wins to what they had last year so 92 wins would be the total. They ended the season with 94. Now let's see if him already being a Champion helps these guys who haven't won. Can they come through in the clutch? That's where Soto will be needed the most.

They havent hit because they faced the best pitching in the playoffs. 2022 astros are the last example of that . But the pitching hasnt been ws caliber since 09
@@fernandoposada5440 Astros have owned them anyway. They haven't hit Astros pitching that's why they've been eliminated 3 times but 2020 they lost to Tampa Bay which was disgraceful because they didn't hit. And Chapman gave up the Homer to Mike Brusseau. They lost 1-0.
In 2020 game 5 was the only game in that series that they scored less than 4 runs in . The pitching gave up 15 runs in games 2 and 3 . If their pitching was good enough there would never have been a game 5 . And as for 22 , rhe astros pitching was unbelievable , noone in the playoffs hit them well . Philly who had a much better offense was shut down to just 5 runs in the 4 games that they lost to the astros . Including just 3 runs in the last 3 games of that series

Folks, this ISN'T the Yankees' year. They need better SPs. They can't shut down opposing hitters when they face good SPs. And their hitters get stymied a lot. That's the key and they don't have it. Signed, a Yankee fan.

Hopefully (but doubtful) the whiners screaming for Boone and Cashman to be let go will end. NYY had more wins than ANY other AL team. Cashman landed Soto. The naysayers screamed they gave up too much. They screamed when GT was having a hard time (I too have had moments of frustration with both his fielding, baserunning and hitting), but where else is a better 2nd baseman that will be available as a free agent next year? They screamed when Holmes blew a save (yes, I was frustrated at times too), but when he is on, he is unhittable - a 97 mph sinker. The marathon is over now. We head into the sprint. If baseball has shown us anything, it is that ANYTHING can happen in a game. Who would have thought a routine popup to a 2nd baseman would lead to a NYY win (2000 vs the Mess)? Who would have thought a bloop over the drawn in infield would cost Mo another WS victory (2001). There are no sure things, especially in sports. Sure, I want the Yankees to win another WS. Every Yankee fan wants this. Cashman and Boone have done their job, as have the players. Let them play and enjoy baseball.

Well the last 5 years should tell you that the regular season means nothing when you cant get it done when it counts .
I mean this is a team with a 300 mill payroll . Making it to playoffs and winning the division should be the minimum of expectations from this team . Not something that should be lauded and celebrated .
Agree to disagree... Sure it's nice to make the playoffs, but this team has not won a ring in 15 years. The fans deserve more. If they get ousted by the O's or Royals expect Boone to be gone. Soto most likely won't be signing here as well.

Yankees have more experience per player on average, they have a better bullpen than the O’s and the Yankees starting pitching is better than the orioles. O’s offense is decent but not good enough to carry their bad pitching, hence why they can’t really keep up the last month and a half. Completely fell on their faces out of first place worse than the Yankees did and we’re scared ? Lol they got swept in the alds last year

@@p00l95 yes but a lot of the earlier series wins were earlier on. As of late they aren’t as hot anymore and even worrisome to a degree. Should be a decent series

They simply don’t know how to score when you must, and manufacture runs. This has and will be their downfall again.
ok yankees made post season but with medicore pitching and hitting,i doubt they make it past the 1st series,depends on who they face but no world series this year and enjoy sotos last few games as a yankee cuz he wont be back next year…very bad trade,5 pitchers and a catcher for a 1 yr rental..cashman needs to be fired and hal needs to be removed by the board for failing to get the yankees the players it needs to win championships like george did
Hitting isnt mediocre . Only 2 teams scored more runs than them this season and depending on what happens today one if them may not make it to the playoffs

@@nostalgiczack5355 Well they’ll either face the Royals or the Orioles in the ALDS. The Baltimore Orioles had owned them for most of the season (Remember they’ve won the AL East last year), they wouldn’t have a chance against them especially with Soto and Jazz Chisholm, Jr. in the lineup.
