Hello! Great tutorial. I have a question. I am attempting to follow along; however my computer bogs down, when i increase resolution. I have a RTX 3090, so i shouldn't be having a problem. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Hello, I have a problem with rendering the scene. After I have everything ready to render, the mesh doesnt appear in my renders (I use vray render usually, but I've also tried the physical render and the openGL)
Thanks for posting :) Quick question: My liquid never seems to come fully in contact with my objects properly, i can always see a gap.. like theres an invisible force field... is there a particular setting i should be adjusting? thanks :)
I can not get it to actually mesh, i see lots of particles and they are behaving as expected but have not been able to produce any actual mesh.. It does display a polygon count (thousands) but I do not see any. Caching the particles works fine but when i cache meshes it says that its caching gigabytes in mere seconds (while the cache folder does not increase in size). I tried changing cache folder but that didnt seem to make any difference.
hello there! i am facing an issue. Say i fill a bucket with circle emitter particles. And on frame 100 i stop the emitter speed and immediately move location of bucket. Now problem is some of fluid penetrate with bucket and get out from walls of bucket. So am i doing something wrong or a bug?
The Particle location need to be calculate more often between frames. Select the "Scene objects" then the "Solver tab" and uncheck "Auto Params", then double the Min and Max substeps, this should solve your problem, if it doesn't, increase again.
@@DIGITALMEAT Hi, thanks for your reply. yes after increasing sub steps a very few particles penetrate with bucket. currently my setting is min - 3 and max - 600. So is there any other setting no mesh go outside bucket?

hey, fantastic really helpfull tut, one problem, when i render i have this bad particels in the rendering, like you have it at minute 40, i can not get rid of it, please help!
thanks for answering! i guess its a problem with the mesh, could i send a pic to show u? what i mean is, when i render the movie, with mesh and everything i have particles in the animation, blue pixels, like u had it in the tutorial at minute 40…
Im trying something similar with realflow, and with less resolution(200-400) in cinema 4D R20 the scene is laggy when I press play... I've seen you have a gtx 970 here and Im using a gtx 1060 and i7 6700k processor. Also my cache sim takes close to 10 min long... What can be the problem? Tnx for the tutorial its so helpful!!
@@DIGITALMEAT hey, thanks for the vid. I did the whole thing and it's fine and dandy. for some reason for me it was also really slow, even when i cached the scene. i did almost every settings identical to you, but still it's not capable of playing it back fluidly. do you have a solution? i have 2 GTX 1070 Ti (altough, SLI is disabled, because someone told me how SLI can be actually holding back the performance if using Octane. to be honest, not sure if it's true) 32GB DDR4 ram i7-8700 3200Mzh and I have .m2 type SSDs
it's good but i have a question, in your preview video the liquid touch the two pillar, but when you are creating cache the file, it does not touch the pillar, how can i fix this problem???
Hi! First of all. this is great content!! For me reflow is totally new and I use it for a few days now within c4d R21. Your tutorials helped me a lot so far. And here's a question: how do you render this animations on an online render farm? Since this version of realflow is "Nodelocked" it seems to be impossible to use a render farm. Even if I export as an "alembic" this will generate a several Gigabyte file which cannot be uploaded on any renderfarm online. What do ou think? Best regards from Vienna,
Good question, any answer from me would be guessing so I suggest you reach out to Next limit and see what they say. www.nextlimit.com/realflow/contact-us/
I need more details to determine what is happening. Are you just caching particles? or particles and mesh? Do you have a valid path for where the simulation will be cached to? make sure you're fluid and mesh is checked on.
thanks for nice tutorial! mate, can you share your wine texture? it looks awesome. or even the hole scene, my fluid doesn't look that good even i tried to set same params =/
it's pretty easy, in your material turn on transparency, set the refraction preset to water, set the absorption colour to red, and set the absorption distance.
pp.userapi.com/c841336/v841336038/46e36/P14YNletJ_w.jpg I tried different combinations of absorption and water, and haven't found decent one. could you tell your values, please? and do you think it should be more liquid? thanks :)
A really great and helping tutorial mate. I have one doubt. how much time did it take on an average for you to cache the final sim. I have a Zotac GTX 1060 AMP Edition. Would really love to know that. thanks for this wonderful tutorial and your help :)
Thanks mate. I was just trying a simple test file with 400 Fluid resolution. Its taking forever to cache. Really not being able to understand why so much time. Its like i will have to wait for like 45 minutes plus for a high value resolution sim. Can you help me with this. Will be a great help. Thanks again.

What disappoints me most about this plugin is that it doesn't scale the simulation when we add more resolution. It will screw up everything you've adjusted, that sucks.
That's because this is a tutorial about the mesher in the realflow plugin, this is not a tutorial about material creation. If you want a material like mine, create a material with the transparency channel checked on. then inside that channel control the colour using the "Absorption colour" and Absorption Distance"

Yes, On your collision object check the "Volume tag" there you will see a setting for "Surface offset" uncheck "Auto" and set it yourself.

I'm guessing you have a mesher object in the stack, is it ticked on?
@@DIGITALMEAT Is this the stack? If so, yes. i.imgur.com/kKFDHbm.png

You need to lower the absorption distance and make your red darker, I can't give you the exact settings because i no longer have the file.
does realflow have a better solver than xpfluids? it's definetly not cheaper though, plus all other sims in xparticles
