Olen, your father was well recognised and respected by Berliners. In certain respects he was more German than many Germans. He was genuine and outspoken. Jack had a lot of funny habits including the way he played golf. We’re are you living nowadays? Tony and I moved to the U.K. in 1995. Tony passed away in 1999, he was only 76 years old.
At the end you can hear a little bit of a great theme. It is the John Shakespeare Orchestra "Fade Out" (1969). It is on my channel in a video "Tri-State Trains"
I’m so glad that Pan Am and other western airlines flew the Intra German service. In light of what Germany did to Europe. And as part of the post-war agreement. The western German carrier, Lufthansa, was forbidden to fly into West Berlin. Good riddance. They didn’t deserve to have that destination for decades.
Ironic..I worked for PAA...there were many very nice normal gays there...long before it was the "flavor of the month"... Nobody blinked an eye... BUT.... for them to be portrayed as an oppressed class of ARCHANGELS is my issue... I worked in airlines, hotels, later restaurants...NEVER saw any discrimination against gays...AGAINST WOMEN..YES..NOT GAYS But two of them DID RAPE A STRAIGHT GUY ON AN INTERLINE TRIP TO JAMAICA...who was never the same... JUST STOP WITH THE SPECIAL INTERESTS.. Every group deserves EQUAL TREATMENT.... NOT SPECIAL TREATMENT
Wonderful video, brings back memories of the glorious IGS days
We all miss Pan Am. Greetings from West-Berlin
This couldn’t be more entertaining and a great look at a specific era and place.

Fun fact - that exhaust you see is actually tobacco smoke being vented from the smoking section of the plane.
lol
And people will believe you
"Wann hast du angefangen Berlin anzufliegen"
"Das war 1945 ... "
outch. lol
The past surely was full of fog, soot, and with a lot less saturated colours.
Hope will be subtitled in English, one day?
Und heutzutage Tempelhof und Tegel zu(((

At 16:52 Flight Attendants drinking in uniform OMG
I feel so much better about myself and the world after seeing PanAm has added a rainbow flag around its former logo.
It’s pride month. It’s innocuous and inclusive. Chill out.

It's Pride month ....Lots to be proud of...as Hector Adler once said: "Be proud of Pan Am and be proud of yourselves!" Fitting ...no?
