      I’m really surprised at you guys! 😳??? Whenever I see this “entitlement” stuff circulating and social media, I have to offer my take on it… I say, they ARE entitlements. And only those who paid into it, are entitled to it. They are a “retirement plan,” (not benefits), paid in advance by hard-working, LEGAL CITIZENS. They are not however, a gift, charity, welfare, freebies, or handouts. There are millions today, who possess an “entitlement mentality,” always looking for a handout, however, they are NOT entitled; thinking, and wishing does not make it so. And the communists in our government, that are all too happy to encourage them; feeling free to redistribute hard earned taxpayer money, need to be held accountable, for jeopardizing the future of those of us who have faithfully accepted, and counted on the plan that was laid out for us.

       entrepreneurship is the way out. There's so much free information on how to write a business plan, and every other type of information. Here's the key, you don't have to work yourself to death but you got to have some common sense. Figure out what your skill sets, talents, and positive attributes are. Then figure out how to package them. Easier now to be a successful entrepreneur than ever. The problem is people stick themselves in the rat race. We need stronger people, not weaker people. This is a very mediocre age because of those types of belief systems. I wouldn't be stuck in the rat-race now and with all that frustration, go to TH-cam and spend more time learning about entrepreneurship and you won't be on these types of videos complaining that life is so hard. I'm not cruel, I grew up in a house of horrors and was severely abused, I had every excuse to be a failure and to hate myself. Not popular but I was told people it's not what happened to us, but it's what we do with it. Zone for yourself and I agree, don't work yourself to death, work productively but for yourself. Please don't give that lazy ass advice ever again.

    To what Myron was saying about modern women...I met this woman who was into the same music as I was and our first two dates were to rock concerts. I told her from the start that I was attracted to her and wanted to take her on a proper date. Turns out she was only going out with me for free concerts even though I made my intentions known. She gave me the "you're such a great friend" line. Now there are a lot of women out there who won't accept a coffee date because they think he's being cheap. They want and expect a 5 star restaurant on the first date. Men, take her on a coffee date and make her earn the expensive restaurants. Chances are a coffee date is all the investment in her you'll want to make.

    • @Seliz463
      @Seliz463 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Neither side should want an expensive first date because both should demand a real connection before investment like that. A smart woman should be suspicious of a man who is willing to spend a lot of money on a first date because it shows he doesn’t have any discernment or standards. He is either insecure and/or has a transactional view of relationships. And the same goes for the suspicion a man should have for a woman who wants an expensive first date. She is engaging in a level of transactionalism that shows she doesn’t respect herself or have any standards besides money

    These are good programs for those who fall in hard times or otherwise need assistance for a period of time until they can get back on their feet. This helps tons stay out of poverty. The issues is how people have become entitled to abuse these programs and live off of them for years and years or as long as possible which defeats the good & true purpose of them and let’s all those abusers have basic lives paid for them by the state without having to do any work. If they try to work or contribute to society, they’ll lose those benefits so they’re choosing to live a free basic life instead of trying to work and move themselves up to live better lives over time. This has also become a generational teaching in these families where the kids grow up on these programs and see how they work and believe it’s just how things are and don’t realize it’s an abuse of a system. If hard caps are placed on these programs with exceptions only for those who are seriously or permanently disabled and things of that severity and everyone else gets a few months or so to get back on their feet and start working again. But no, the Dems primarily have allowed these loopholes for abuse exist because they’ve bought them countless votes over the decades. They’ll never support time limit changes while they’re benefiting in elections from allowing the abuse. That’s how to solve it though.

    Any "government benefit", regardless what it is for or titled, is designed to create dependence on the government which equates to control over the recipient.
    When the government "saves" your money for your retirement, they actually do not save anything but instead tax people to pay for your retirement, including you (you do know your pension is taxed, right?) - the money "put aside" for your retirement is never put aside, but is spent, knowing this can be taken, yes, taken, from taxpayers to cover the money owed to the retiree - and if the government can not pay the retiree, then too bad, you're on your own.
    If you trust politicians then expect to be used, because that is the only thing politicians can and will do...

      2) Why do you have the right to use loopholes in the corrupt system to get rich? - who is this "you"? - those who corrupt systems (create loopholes) to take advantage of people to get rich are what we used to call "scumbags", and since it is predominantly politicians who corrupt government systems to get rich... you finish the sentence....

    As a recent fiancée, I thought I'd add a note that not all women take kind men for granted. My date stood out because he held (and still holds) the car door for me; I feel a wave of gratitude every time because I recognize that he's pampering me by doing that.
    When we go out to eat, yes, I generally expect him to pay, but we communicate to make sure we're on the same page and not putting him in a bind by doing so. For example, we made reservations at a nice place to try last week with my mother as it's a potential caterer for our wedding; the prices were a lot higher than our typical place, we had an extra person, and we anticipated ordering more items to test a variety of dishes. When I saw that, I immediately looked up at him and asked if I could give him cash beforehand so that he would still pay at the restaurant (we both enjoy that) but that it wouldn't come out of his pocket. We stategized beforehand. That's the type of thing that bring us together: we get ahead of potential problems even if it seems like a weird conversation to have.
    TL;DR:
    Gratitude and consideration for the other person go a long way! 💍

    It is a funny conversation to have because if someone rich says they don't need entitlement it is not true. They drive on roads they couldn't afford to pave, they use resources they don't own and didn't create. Everyone benefits from more in life than they can personally provide for themselves so the entitlement conversation is often people who have some level of success trying to take away help from people lower on the scale and puffing their chest to say I made mine and so can and should you. If the resources they used to gain wealth were removed and they were forced to pay for everything they had and get no help they would not be where they are today. I do not need entitlements but I am glad entitlement programs exist - sometimes people need help.

    Entitlement programs are for the poor what subsidies/tax breaks/loopholes are for the rich. Two sides of the same coin, both of which need to be reduced.

    Programs you call entitlements like SS, VA benefits, military retirement, Medicare are all programs people earned from working and often are paid into by the individual. These things should be of the table for negotiation period. Military spending or programs people did nothing to earn are entitlements. As long as we are giving away money to countries like Ukraine snd Israel dont talk to me about budgets and spending.

    Why don't you talk about corporate welfare ?

    • @gene8675
      @gene8675 ปีที่แล้ว

      The difference is people welfare are just draining the resources. Corporate welfare oils the economic machine. I think both are useless and destructive.
