Don't fear trying to build the John Henry without instructions if you're eager to do it. I managed to do it with the one i got from the tournament. I referenced the box art and concept art. It all goes together fairly straight forward if you've made one of the other colossus before. Only struggle was figuring out which way the upper arms faced.
That's a cool kit, i'm surprised that we still do not have have magnets that are coloured on one side so we know the polarity at a glance. Also can i be cheeky and ask when the Empire orbat changes video is coming? Thanks
Great unboxing / review. Your magnetisation guide is really helpful. It is still a bit surprising that Warcradle did not put two of the new sprues in the Independence box, as this seemed to be the standard with all new releases until now.
Actually, I hope they start doing this more if the flagship has a crapton on build options (like this set). Does it make it a less ideal starting off point for beginners? Yes Do I think this actually makes a more appealing box to buy multiple copies of? Absolutely. And they are battlecruisers, so the whole point of them is that you can easily field 2 of them instead of a big flagship.
I dunno. I prefere boxes like the September releases, with multiples of the new sprues. Also, you cannot field the Independence in squadrons of 2 as of now. The Independence box ist not bad - you get all of the Union sprues once, but if i were Warcradle i would have put two of the John Henry sprues in it and not only one (single destroyers and subs is tough...
@@Ferox2121 I don't think they could have in the case of this ship. It just has too many build options that required every type of sprue to be available. The frontline sprue is needed for the HGB/HRB (for Indepenence/Rio Grande/Indianapolis) and the generators too. The support sprue is needed for the SRS tokens for the Liberty battlecarrier. (only critique I can give is the fact that the resin arc generator isn't included). The Ore War veteran sprue is needed for the America Special operation vessel (pacifier assault ship) The only thing that is not needed is the Assault sprue... And perhaps they could have made this into a 6 sprue mega battlefleet, but I'm sort of glad they did not, even if it does require a bit of patience to flesh out the valiant/Cheyenne/John Henry squads.
@@Ferox2121 But having said that, getting a box with 4 new sprues likes the Egyptian ones is pretty awesome of course. But I can almost guarantee that, if any other Egyptian battlefleet boxes come later down the line, people will complain that they already have too many of the Egyptian Frontline sprues and don't need any more destroyer skimmers! :D I actually held off on going all in Scandinavians before (only did a single Ragnarok box and no extra squadrons), knowing there will be another box which inevitably have more frontline sprues in it! ;) It took longer than I expected though.
@@speeddemonpainting7050 I always prefere more of the new stuff... ;) But with the scandinavians, i bought a Ragnarok box and one cruiser box so far. i made 2 Jotunn, 1 Odin and 1 Gungnir, so i still have room for the 2 additional cruisers from the Valhalla / Scions of Jutland box.
