    Please do a review on the safety sandals. I’d like to see how those work.

    I have both of the 60v trimmers. And this is much nicer to use.
    The attachment capable one does have a 17” cut, but it’s not as strong b/c the motor is near the battery, and the trimmer head is a different design and it digs into the ground, instead of gliding on the surface. You may be able to upgrade the head, but I I like the power of this one.

    Just got offline with Dewalt. It seems that we cannot get that adapter kit here in the US in order to fit other attachments to the electric string trimmers. Appears to be DT20657 URGH!

    The flexVolt string trimmers, the one you have and the attachment capable one have been number 1 or 2 depending on the reviewer. I have a lot of Stihl equipment (gas) because of storms etc when electricity may not be available. Also, for a chainsaw the new 20 inch flexVolt is nice but doesn’t compare in power or capacity to my professional Stihl’s and in a storms aftermath, having a few gallons of aspen 2 can get lots of roads cleared quick.

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're regularly dealing with power outages and need your tools to clear roads and stuff, I would definitely stick with gas-powered equipment. Unless you run solar/hydro and have a large battery bank, perhaps. Either way, if you're actually depending on your equipment to be able to get food/supplies and general safety, I would also go for gas. I also have some Stihl stuff (great products), like the chainsaw I got recently (MS251, great for basic home usage), I have no plan on trading that for an electric one anytime soon. It runs flawlessly, packs a punch, and, to be honest, I can't afford to replace tools just for the fun of it.
      However, I will pick a flexvolt tool where it makes sense to eliminate a corded one. Especially for renovation projects. A new circular saw might be next on the list. They seem really nice.
      Oh, this is becoming too long to read 😅 My take on it: if you're really dependent on your tools, go for gas. If not, the flexvolt tools are super convenient! Hope all my rambling made sense, haven't had my morning coffee yet!

      @@TryingToBuildStuff I have a ton of flexVolt tools. Just the OPE eats batteries too fast.

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nsatoday ah ok, then I'll understand 🙂 just ran the trimmer for a solid 1.5h before having to recharge, but it all depends in how hard you push the tool I guess, and what your needs are!

    this is pretty much what the US has as the 970 I liked mine the filter on the top was problematic and the US model you can not attach a blade .. I had to move to the DCST972 .. I just got mine today I am gonna see if I can find the motor that fits yours I think I can swap it and put a brush blade like the rest of the world models

    • @R.Stridstrom
      @R.Stridstrom ปีที่แล้ว

      No - they suck at explaining whats what, and whats not - and their marketing is all over the place.
      The DCMAS5713X1 is the one available to us in the nordics with optional sttachements.
      I looked it up in sweden - quite a bit more expensive.
      8000 SEK (~722 USD)
      And the US version ( DCST972) in the states was about 279 USD.
      Thats about 3100 SEK.

    Hey man do you happen to know where to find one of these cause they are sold out everywhere, and i cant seem to catch a price on it anywhere Apreciate the help amazing video i wanted one for a year now but was considering to get an 18V or 54V i will probably try and get this one cause i already have the 54 flexvolt chainsaw and i love it so this one will be amazing too (and i will have a 2nd battery) haha enjoy your day mate :)

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment! I would totally go for this one instead of the 18v version! It packs a punch, much like your chainsaw I believe :) And considering you use 18v as well I suspect you live somewhere in Europe (or at least not in the US)? I got mine from a local shop here in Norway, but it seems to be sold out on Amazon UK so I'm not really sure where you can order it. Have you checked any local hardware stores?

    • @bigballox6454
      @bigballox6454 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, powerstack are 18volts. You need the 54v batteries. The 54volt batteries will power all your 18volt dewalt tools but the the 18volt batteries won't step up to 54v, for obvious reasons.
