Hello, Malaysian here. I love old school AM DXing when distant radio stations pop up from dusk till early morning. Good AM receivers with big internal ferrite antenna especially old ones can pull in stations hundreds or perhaps thousands of miles easily at night. Even my cheap Tecsun R-9012 could do the job using an AM loop strong enough to cover the entire AM band. A very enjoyable hobby. 👍
These radio stations are taken from Chris Kadlec's Seoul AM Radio Listening Guide (SAMRLG). These weren't DX-ed by Egrabow. Don't ask him to DX stations from the Philippines, Russia, et cetera.
At 10:53 on JOSF . Here I'm thinking that they'll probably start some song in Japanese and all of a sudden there was "Sweet Leaf" by Black Sabbath...wild
Yes, I remember recording that clip and thinking it was just going to be a 20 second clip or something but was surprised to hear Black Sabbath. The video cuts out the song on 1350 immediately following that. You could check out X Japan "Silent Jealousy" for that, which is also a pretty epic tune. I think in my whole project, those two back-to-back frequencies had the best music and were the peak of the whole band.
558 KBS2 is a really powerful station in Asia-Pacific, at least in Guangzhou every day when I drive before the sun rises, I can hear it from my car radio
I'm sure that happens when a station closer to you can be picked up while the one on the same frequency is drowned out until the other station cuts its carrier.
Christopher Sobieniak But the other station in 1467khz is also weak.Actually, there is no MW station in my area(local FM channels have 8,the stations are all focus on FM)
All the information you need is in the video. Frequency, station name, country. "Holiday" is at 7:08. This is KBS 1 Radio Jinju, 1098. But 1098 is parallel to all the other KBS 1 Radio stations, AM and FM. I recorded it during their usual 70s and 80s music program that usually ran after 11pm when I left work. 1098 was just a good frequency that night. :) Thanks for listening to my recordings!
I had received the 1467khz HLKN in Meizhou,Guangdong Province,China just now.It is about 1533KM!The signal is very weak, and I couldn't hear the "HLKN",but I can confirm that the language is korean, and I can hear "KBS".(Excuse my poor English)
Hi Jing Shen, maybe you can help me with some of my Chinese E-skip catches if you want! Many of them are from the Guangdong area and I have not had the time to ID all of them. -Chris Kadlec
Christopher Sobieniak But in my area(indoors or outdoors)have many jammer everyday(maybe comes from electrical equipment) .So I cannot receive the MWDX in an easy way.

AM radio is incredible... and without large antennas I was able to receive radios from Argentina at night
Some of the Japanese stations can be heard in Philippines at night.
13:52 that's not FEBC, that's Radio Teos from Russia.
Hi, I have received the radio signal of Mauritius on AM in Macau before
7:43 Music: Viva! - Bond.
Pretty excellent video!! Hope you have one for the Philippines soon enough :)
some Manila & Regional Stations alsp found in parts of Japan
7:45 - is that Vivaldi's Four Seasons? (Winter piece)
A dance track that samples it. Not DJ Taka (V) or Bond (Victory) - the two I can name right off.
Dig 1332's choice in Rock, Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf".

To confirm, hear their IDs. They usually start with freqs, then later on "This is 'the network name' 'city of licence'" and finally their callsign.
