He finally got surgery on it during lockdown when they were forced to stop touring. 💜

To add to what others have said about BTS' choreography: - Big Hit's in-house choreographer is Performance Director Son Sung Deuk. He did most of their Hip Hop dance instruction when they were trainees & choreographed most of their early routines. He pops up from time to time in behind the scenes videos, esp. during dance practices. From what I've noticed, he seems very skilled in urban styles, while also self-effacing & generous enough to work with (& credit) other choreographers. - J-Hope works closely with Mr. Son to teach the routines to the group, then refine them for the members' strengths & to fit circumstances (i.e. marking for size of stage, camera positions, etc.). You've seen glimpses of his unbelievable work ethic; he's a lifelong student of dance, esp. urban styles, & is widely considered one of the best dancers in all of KPop, past & present. - Jimin & Jungkook both help J-Hope with teaching & refining, alongside their own contributions to choreo. Jimin is Deputy Dance Leader - other members often credit him with spending extra time to help them individually. Of the many things that I don't think Big Hit gets enough credit for, their contributions to the world of dance is high on my list. First, while dance is a key element of Korean Idol music, BTS have always gone above & beyond; so much so that early in their career they were known as much or more for the tightness of their choreo execution than for the music. Second, BTS popularized the use of large numbers of backup dancers in music videos & performances, which equates to a lot more work for performers in S. Korea & abroad, because they often hire local dance groups when they perform in other countries. Lastly, Big Hit goes out of their way to work with, credit and highlight young, up & coming choreographers. Even better, every choreographer I've seen who's worked with them has mentioned that they were given tons of creative freedom & were encouraged to not water down routines to make them less difficult or intricate.
I agree with others that watching Taylor's Guide to BTS really helps on getting to know the members but it does take awhile to recognize who is who especially because they used to change hair colors a lot lol. There's a lot of reading in the guide and most of us appreciate pauses so you don't miss anything! I like how you not only break down what they're doing technically but you're enjoying it as much as we do! This choreo is insanely good and well done, by BTS and the back-up dancers. I'm always wowed by it.

I believe Sienna Lalau choreographed ON, she is the dancer in the middle at the beginning and she was only 19 at the time. In the beginning it was Jimin first, then V, and then RM. At 6 minutes and 14 seconds they actually line up oldest to youngest- Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. BTS have said in the past ON is probably their hardest choreography. I love how you loved this, but there are nearly 10 years of history to learn about!. I see that Jay Emjae has commented below with a list of good pointers on finding out more - I strongly recommend you follow the advice. The effort will reward you more than you can know at this point. You may NOT know that BTS dance like this while singing live. They performed this llive for the Jimmy Falllon Show in the central concourse of the Grand Central Terminal in New York. Towards the end we could here the dancers cries of encouragement, because they knew just how tired BTS were, and how hard it is to continue - but they did. Jimmy Fallon rushed in to hug them at the end: he said he gave Jungkook (main singer in the centre position of many formations) a back hug. He said he could feel JK's heart beating through his back. It's not unusual for BTS to sit in formation on stage at the end of some of their most powerful routines - I think that's because their legs have lost their oxygen. There are, in fact, shots of them being given oxygen on coming off stage during a concert. They do not have a support band : if you go to a concert, you see BTS and their support dancers, Nothing else. Everything has to be scheduled very smartly, to allow some to rest while others do solo, and to all time to change costumes. Some of the changes are very fast indeed. This was choreographed by Petra Rau, fo the Lab. She is from Hawaii butnow based in LA (I think - I get muddled). She was the woman in front centre at the start of this. She also did the choreo for Run BTS which is from their most recent album and speaks of the pressure they faced in their early times. It's hard : they opened their recent free concert in October '22 in Busan with Mike Drop (exhausting) and Run BTS (even more exhausting). It is epic!. Not all their songs are like this - they do so many different genres, and have a discography of more than 300 tracks - mostly written by the rappers, RM, Suga and J-Hope, but with songs from each of the others too. They also write and produce for other artists, and have done many collaborations with international stars. It's estimated that the fans, known as BTS ARMY, number well over 50 million. I suspect it could be as high as 90 million - I for example am not an official member of the fan club, but I am definitely ARMY and I know I'm not alone. You'll hear ARMY described as crazy or just loads of screaming hormonal teenage girls: we're not. We are highly educated, articulate, intelligent, creative and assertive, and we include all ages, races and sexes. But we are passionate, and we know that BTS and ARMYs have faced enormous hate over the years - I know some ARMYs who received such hate that they were afraid for their own safety. The worst of the fan aggression against ARMY seems to have faded, but we still get it, and get abuse from the media too. We are ducks - abuse is water - it slides off us. We are very protective and supportive of each other and of BTS. Sometimes people can be sensitive and over-react to a newbie who just doesn't know better, but In fact, if you want to know and support BTS, we will shower you with love. One more thing to note about their dancing and choreo. They have special and specific “dance breaks” for only certain songs. This dance practice and for one of two ON MV features the dance break. In this song, the dance breaks begins when Jimin comes up with the trio (he slaps V’s hand before turning front again). Mic Drop has a dance break, which first premiered in a live late night performance (Cobert maybe?). Dynamite has a dance break too, and a special choreo with the 3 J’s - J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook. I am full blown Army .... however I think you should check out stray kids too. They self produce and the leader bangchan handpicked the members. 2 of the members are from australia( felix- he has a very very deep voice but can also go very high) and bangchan the leader ( i only mention that because of ur accent but if im mistaken apologize). BTS are known all over for their dancing, vocals, rapping and wild stage presence. Danger was their 1st hard choreo. And over the years they stepped it up. ON and Run BTS are great. The choreo gets harder and harder. They have easier stuff too all of it is just lovely to watch. So many feels and just different vibes based on the song. Hello, new subscriber here😊 I love seeing you get absorbed into their dance, they really are so charismatic live more so, live is where they shine. I already saw a lot of armys recommend the Taylor 7 guide and i also think that would be a helpful next step for you, beside their singing and dancing talent they are QUALITY human beings that we all adore + it will get easier for u to spot things or follow our comments( for one why a lot of us leave purple hearts), dont stress if it takes you a while to connect face to name, we all have to start somewhere. Armys really dont mind longer videos, so if putting a dance practice and live perf/MV in one videos sound like something fun for u, we would really enjoy that💜 PS. when u get to Black Swan i really recommend u watch the MV cuz it has some dance parts not found in the dance practice.

Yeah, you could definitely tell from time to time that it was hurting him :( I'm so glad he got the surgery and isn't in chronic pain anymore.
I have no clue how he danced to Idol with that backwards arm swing in the choreo. I always cringe for him when I watch that.

She also did the choreo for Run BTS which is from their most recent album and speaks of the pressure they faced in their early times. It's hard : they opened their recent free concert in October '22 in Busan with Mike Drop (exhausting) and Run BTS (even more exhausting). It is epic!.
Not all their songs are like this - they do so many different genres, and have a discography of more than 300 tracks - mostly written by the rappers, RM, Suga and J-Hope, but with songs from each of the others too. They also write and produce for other artists, and have done many collaborations with international stars.
It's estimated that the fans, known as BTS ARMY, number well over 50 million. I suspect it could be as high as 90 million - I for example am not an official member of the fan club, but I am definitely ARMY and I know I'm not alone.
You'll hear ARMY described as crazy or just loads of screaming hormonal teenage girls: we're not. We are highly educated, articulate, intelligent, creative and assertive, and we include all ages, races and sexes. But we are passionate, and we know that BTS and ARMYs have faced enormous hate over the years - I know some ARMYs who received such hate that they were afraid for their own safety.
The worst of the fan aggression against ARMY seems to have faded, but we still get it, and get abuse from the media too. We are ducks - abuse is water - it slides off us. We are very protective and supportive of each other and of BTS. Sometimes people can be sensitive and over-react to a newbie who just doesn't know better, but In fact, if you want to know and support BTS, we will shower you with love. We don't care if you mess up names or say stupid things if you are genuinely interested in learning. All of us have asked stupid questions in the past - it's one way to learn.
I am a 67 year old woman from the UK, and know hundreds of other ARMYs here. We are on every continent, and hundreds of countries. We love and support each other and help each other learn. Welcome : when you are ready to call yourself ARMY, you will have a great time too.

Dance videos for their choreography can be found at Bangtantv and behind the scenes videos. Just depends how far you want to go, there is a lot. The MV's have a storyline attached but that is better saved for a time when you might want to get to know the members more. Enjoy!

One more thing to note about their dancing and choreo. They have special and specific “dance breaks” for only certain songs. This dance practice and for one of two ON MV features the dance break. In this song, the dance breaks begins when Jimin comes up with the trio (he slaps V’s hand before turning front again). Mic Drop has a dance break, which first premiered in a live late night performance (Cobert maybe?). Dynamite has a dance break too, and a special choreo with the 3 J’s - J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook. Look up BTS dance breaks for more!

I am full blown Army .... however I think you should check out stray kids too. They self produce and the leader bangchan handpicked the members. 2 of the members are from australia( felix- he has a very very deep voice but can also go very high) and bangchan the leader ( i only mention that because of ur accent but if im mistaken apologize). They also have rappers in their group ( Han, changbin and bangchan) all 3 produce songs for the group.

You need to check out the live they did of this for the Jimmy Fallon show at Grand Central Station. They do this choreo while singing/rapping live! Sienna Lalau from The Lab dance crew in LA did the choreo for this. She is the one in the center of the formation at the start.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Love dance practices. So glad u had fun with this. Many groups study and take BTS choreo. Their choreographers are great and their synchronicity is top tear. BTS are known all over for their dancing, vocals, rapping and wild stage presence. Danger was their 1st hard choreo. And over the years they stepped it up. ON and Run BTS are great. The choreo gets harder and harder. They have easier stuff too all of it is just lovely to watch. So many feels and just different vibes based on the song. I look forward to see u react to the MVs for the dance practices u watched so far. =0} The MV will have CCs. It's a great song. Hope u check it out. The 1st dancer was Jimin after him was V. U felt he was feeling the music there. Next, was RM the main rapper. After Jimin comes back and he has JK with him. Jin joins them he wearing lilac here. Jhope got green t-shirt. Suga got white shirt, black cap, black jeans on. Mr. Son is their in house choreographer. But for this dance Sienna Lalau 19yo at the time from The Lab dance crew created the choreo. Hello, new subscriber here😊 I love seeing you get absorbed into their dance, they really are so charismatic live more so, live is where they shine. I already saw a lot of armys recommend the Taylor 7 guide and i also think that would be a helpful next step for you, beside their singing and dancing talent they are QUALITY human beings that we all adore + it will get easier for u to spot things or follow our comments( for one why a lot of us leave purple hearts), dont stress if it takes you a while to connect face to name, we all have to start somewhere.
Armys really dont mind longer videos, so if putting a dance practice and live perf/MV in one videos sound like something fun for u, we would really enjoy that💜
PS. when u get to Black Swan i really recommend u watch the MV cuz it has some dance parts not found in the dance practice.
