Tyra Banks is eliminating her own kind from America's Next Top Model.
In a dramatic turn of events, Tyra, the creator and host of the show dismissed three show veterans-Nigel Barker, the famed photographer, Jay Manuel, the creative director, and J. Alexander, the runway coach and judge.
The show is currently in it's 18th season, but sources tell Page Six that there will be some major changes in the upcoming season.
The show is looking to add an extra push when it comes to social media and rumor has it producers are already reaching out to fashion bloggers like Bryan Boy.
The Executive Producer Ken Mok said in a statement that quote "Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel, and J. Alexander have been an integral part of the 'America's Next Top Model' brand and they helped turn this show into the household name it is today."
But, apparently not so integral that they couldn't let the three go. Nigel has been on the show since 2004, while Mr. Jay has been with Tyra from the start.
Banks went to twitter to send her love tweeting "Fierce & love 2 my @NigelBarker, @MrJayManuel and Miss J. #ANTM turned us in2 a family. Excited for what the future holds for us. XOXO TyTy.
And while the show has experienced it's fair share of turnover, nothing this dramatic has hit the small screen for this series.

Nigel Barker was one of the reasons why I watched the show. Classy guy, doing his job (with passion) , not destroying the models with rude comments (unlike Kelly C.), tried to coach them instead of putting them down and his presence brought something more conservative compared to Miss Jay and J. Manuel (Some kind of equilibrium between the judges and the models)

Agree 💯 per cent. Kelly was one of the reasons I stopped watching years ago. Absolutely LOVED the other three, it’s not Top Model without them.
Actually Nigel can be rude sometimes especially towards an introvert girls but he will never be ruder as Kelly. Remember when she argued with one British girl and made the girl left? I think that's the moment that I know that she crossed the line.
The worse thing is Tyra kept her for the next few cycles and she's always critizing every outfits that the contestants always worn while she's always wearing the same outfit every panels! Hypocrite!

Tyra Banks is incredibly insecure. She needs to be surrounded by people who kiss her ass, agree with everything she says/does, and don't have the potential to steal the spotlight from her. She loves to preach body-acceptance, but it's obvious that she wishes she were still a frail thin supermodel, which is why she's a mean girl to the models who fit the current fashion industry mold.

Nigel quit because he had bigger projects and Tyra didn't support him.

I was already annoyed when they didn't explain the All-Stars finale. But since I love Mr Jay and the other two, I watched the British Invasion. In my opinion the show went downhill with all the silly gimmicks Tyra added, like booty tooch and pot ledom. (I can live with 'smize', but come on... BOOTY TOOCH and all the words she rhymes them with - tooch, smooch & whatever) And now with all these weird judges the show became so trashy. (At least bring back Janice or Paulina or Twiggy or Andre)
One of the reasons why i stopped watching antm after cycle 16. I tolerated cycle 17 because of allison but after that, i believed the show has gone downhill.

Biggest mistake. Miss Jay Alexander was one of the main reasons I watched the show. To remove one of the main stars of the show was ridiculous.

Nigel was a fantastic judge, he really tried to be costructive with his criticisms. J Manuel, however, was so nasty. I was glad to see him go.

acesmart - You stated that "THE SHOW & TYRA" decided together. And that is the truth. It was the show & Tyra that chose to dump Nigel & the 2 J's. None of them quit the show. Therefore, they WERE FIRED; not "replaced". In those circumstances, being replaced is the same as being fired.

this show's been going downhill ever since twiggy left. i don't miss nigel as much since he was starting to really just become tyra's lackey in her dumb gimmicks, but i really loved the j's! j alexander is the only one who seemed really really nice and genuine and funny, and j manuel was the very grounded mentor for the models. if the show executives had to fire someone....fire tyra, she's acting really childish nowadays and it's annoying the shit out of me.
The show is just going downhill. This year's cycle's concept is so stupid. ANTM lost its mojo long time ago but now that the Jays are fired, the ratings are gonna be so bad. Just bring back the old concept. I've stopped watching this year's cycle coz it was os damn boring!
I agree Jules. Also, Tyra has made some very choices when choosing ANTM. Most of her choices have made no sense. After being a top model herself; she should know what will and will not make a top model. But clearly, she does NOT.

Jules, I'm currently watching cycle #10. I haven't seen this one yet. Right now, it's down to the last 5. And yet again, some of the eliminations were a joke.
Its not worth watching now. Mr & Ms j made the show. Them two combined in one show just makes it epic. It sucks we won't get to see them in one place anymore ;__;

Those three were one of the reasons I watched the show. With them gone I quit watching.
I think the ANTM needed a shake up. They needed new ideas, feedback and freshness. I wish the best for Mr Jay, Ms J's and Nigel. This show should have been a great stepping stone for them.
