    I bought a pair of speed cross 4 about 2 weeks ago. They felt good in the store but were very uncomfortable in the toe box on my first run/ hike. I soaked them in hog water, put them on and laced them tight, and then walked about 5miles on the treadmill before letting them dry. Now they fit like a glove.

      Looking forward to your feedback! I have run SpeedCross also for many years now. Wondering if WildCross or other Salomons have the same or even better comfort. My only issue with the SpeedCross is the wear out of the soutsole...

  • @GogglesTyresandTrainers

    Sounds daft, but the wildcross now look more like a trail running shoe, wider toe box, better grip pattern etc..
    Nice video mate

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good point! Although as someone pointed out, a narrower toe can mean more grip on some climbs as it digs in easier. Depends on surface

    Can you run on the road in these shoes? I have some trails near me but would have to go about 3miles to get there. Also, if I didnt fancy a trail run could I get away with these on a road?

    • @StephenJReid

      I’ve run on road a bit in them, entirely possible but not as comfortable as proper road running shoes.

  • @edgarrousselin6075
    @edgarrousselin6075 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have you ever tried On shoes? I just got the trail waterproof ones and they are waterproof but not gore tex so the water gets out much quicker. But I have to do what you did and go for a muddy wet run. That looked so much fun. Thanks for sharing.

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't no. I wear non-goretex shoes in summer, but in winter my feet are freezing in them. The Gore Tex traps the water that gets in, it heats up and feet stay warmish.

    Hi Stephen, just come across your great video. I have a couple pairs of SC4 GTX and have to size up from a UK 8 to a UK 9 to find the right fit. Interested in getting a non-GTX version of the SC5 or the Wildcross. Are they sized the same? Do you think I would need to size up to a UK9 if the toe box is much bigger? Cheers, Kev

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel like the Wildcross is sized larger, my normal size was perfect in it. But everyone is different. Quite often I order two sizes and return.

      @StephenJReid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
