2021 I’m an SCorp. I do my own quarterly payroll. How do we manually transact the expenses (Employee/employer FICA) properly in QB? For instance, I pay myself $12,000 quarterly. How to properly record all associated payroll cost in QB without paying QB to do the actual payroll? Would you care to create a video to demonstrate doing manual payroll? Thank you in advance!
Thank you Mr, Garcia for this valuable information! It is really appreciated. Mr. Garcia you are an expertise and you should be a QBO's Hodges University Professor.
I have a question how does payroll work when you don’t have employees yet you have contractors do I still have to purchase the payroll program to do direct deposit for my contracts?
Thanks! I just switched from QBD as well. My only question is this... In QBD I was able to print out a Detail of Funds to be Withdrawn report. Is this available with QBO so that I can make sure my payroll account is funded correctly?
Hector, when there is a lump sum entered for payroll, lets say for January and February when the payroll starts March 1st, how do you reconcile the bank statements when the checks in that month aren't included in the register? The lump sum amount doesn't appear in the bank register until the time at which it is posted for that period by QBO payroll. Hope this isn't too far from what I'm trying to say.
Hello Mr Hector, I would like to ask you, at 14:05 of your video you are adding 2000$ for the allowances from the W-4 form. But why did you put an amount if the allowances were no longer in use as of 2020 ? Shouldn't it stay empty ? Thank you
the important part about the last paystub, that only if the employees is switching Payroll companies and the employee has had the same job right??? Example if set up quickbooks payroll and hire a new guy who use to work at burger King but now working for me at my dress making shop I don't have to fill I the last pays tub part correct!!???
Hello, I'm trying to fix the yellow mark saying "missing information" on a specific employee which is marked in step 9. When I click the link provided in Step 9 to enter the necessary info. It only displays a blank page. Therefore, no option for me to take action. Now I cannot continue my employee set up for payroll because of the yellow mark issue. How do I fix this? Just like in 19:33 problem is when I click its just a blank page.
thank you for this video - Can you go over adding workers comp for qb online - its a new feature that requests a composite rate and payroll deduction rate ... the QB system is set as a %, but the state amount is given in dollars/hr. worked if for ex: the rate is $2.78/hr worked. will the correct rate be 2.78%?
Hi! I have a question. I have a new client that I will be doing payroll for starting next month. He's in another state so I was trying to see how making checks works when doing payroll remotely and wont be near the client's employees for them to receive their checks.
Hey Hector, This is my first time setting up payroll for our company but we don’t have previous pay stubs for with the tax information we need to enter. How could we figure that portion out?
Can you tell me if we use the QB Desktop payroll already and are converting Mid-Year - will the Payroll info / Employee data - YTD - 941 reports - W-2 Year to date info all transfer or do we need to update this manually once we do the rollover to QBO? Sames with Sales Tax info?
Hector... I love your videos. I recently converted from desktop to QB online with Payroll Core. I am used to paying my own payroll taxes as soon as I run payroll. When I do that then the payroll liability that was sent electronically debits my checkbook register. I just ran my first payroll with online and I know I have it set to for QB to automatically pay the taxes but I guess it does not do it until the deadline which will be Monday (semiweekly depositor). I pulled the amount from the chart of accounts just so I would know how much to expect to come out of the checking account but I wish there was a better way. Basically I wish it was done immediately like it was with desktop... so we have an actual checkbook balance. Does that make sense ?

Hi Mr. Garcia, I'm a small business owner based in Dallas, TX. I began paying my kids by making deposits into their bank accts this year but didn't know I have to set up payroll. The IRS requires withholding taxes and issue w2 forms in order to claim the wages expense deduction. How do I include the wages I already paid from Jan thru Aug so that the w2 shows the correct amount at year end and at the same time being compliant with the IRS. I'll appreciate your response. Thanks
Hi Hector. Thank you very much for your videos. When an employee fill outs the W-4 form federal and the W-4 form to state, Should he has the same allowances in W4 form federal and W4 form state? What about if this person has two jobs and this is the lowest paying job? And this person already put the allowances in the W-4 form in the first higest paying job for federal and state?
Yea. But generally the owner of the sole Proprietor (filling a Schedule C in their personal return for the business) should not be using payroll to pay themselves
As a new independent contractor I accepted the invite to put in my info for direct deposit. I accidentally hit something that filled in my old address and information. Hector, Thank you for the tutorial. I have recently switched from QB desktop to QB online Payroll premium subscription. I am having issue with my local tax which is 1% of the gross. When I do the payroll the 1% is not taken out of the gross but deducting the health and dental insurance and then taking out the 1%. On the setting it is not giving me an option that it is not exempt from the health insurance. Hope I explained this good. Called QB but couldn't help me and said I have to purchase the premium subscription for that option. Is that correct or is there another way to edit the settings that 1% will be taken out of the gross. Thank you.
So if I'm understanding correctly, QB Online has made it extremely difficult to manually enter payroll. And they hold it over our heads with yet another subscription cost. In QB Desktop 2019 manual payroll was relatively easy using our existing payroll service.
Hi Hector, I do not use job costing but i enter the hour consumed by every employee on daily basis, and then run the payroll on monthly basis.
