As always, an absolutely beautiful and interesting video. We have been exploring the Bengali and Italian (specifically Neapolitan) connection (albeit with comedy) for a while now, and have found huge similarities as well. Many of the points you have captured in this video specifically that of art and culture are very valid for the Italian connection as well. The importance of tight family bonding and the respect that the mothers and grandmothers have in an Italian family also is a very strong similarity. We are currently working on a series on similar lines but the other way around “Italians are the Bengalis of Europe”, this is because Europe as a whole can be compared to India w.r.t the fact that cultures, traditions languages change every few hundred kilometers so a state in India can be correlated to a country in Europe. As a Bengali who learned French in school for 5 years, as much as I hated it for all the complexities and inconsistencies French had with its phonetics, I have to admit that I never realised or noticed until now that my own language had just as many phonetical irregularities and inconsistencies as French. Most likely because it's my mother tongue, and it all just comes out naturally for me (same would go for French people). So I just never noticed it, as a native speaker. However, those 5 years of learning French as a foreign language were absolute chaos.
English also has this quality as well. Though/Tough/Cough/Brough. Jodi tui native-speaker kojo, tomar Français onek bhqlo hobe. Ami jani because ami French sikheji school e.(Apologies; my Bangla is not that good either.)

Sorry bro a little correction for you, You Bangladeshis are not Bengali even ethnically they're Bangladeshi just like Germany because 99% of your people don't even speak Bengali you mainly use Urdu and Arabic with couple of Bengali words and that's not Bengali you just use Bengali script just like all European languages uses Latin script for their respective language you may question how we Indians know that Bangladeshis speak Urdu and Arabic with some distorted Bengali words because India is a multicultural multi lingual country every Indian can understand and speak at least 3 languages generally it becomes more than 3 now coming to the point Hindi and Urdu are very similar and close to each other you don't need to read and write if you can understand and speak one language between one of these two you can speak other 90% of it fluently without any problem and the way majority 99% Bangladeshis speaks with Urdu and Arabic words along with couple of distorted Bengali words no one will consider you as Bengali and most importantly you Bangladeshis don't even follow Bengali culture even they don't have any contribution on the development of Bengali language by contributing on Bengali literature. What it was in the past when Bengal was undivided it is now in the pages of history books after partition of Bengal in1947 jump to now we are miles apart the separated part of Bengal now called as Banglades now have completely changed from every aspect whether its from culturally , Ethnically or linguistically because some other external factors causes this transformation on this landmass of separated Bengal/East-pakistan
@@sdg3066 first of all you need to understand the regional linguistic difference of Bengal and your hindi/urdu. Every region has its unique linguistic accent and words like Sylheti, Chattogrami, Dhakaiya, Noakhailla, Cumillaian, Borisailla, Rangpuri and in the west side of BD (like Khulna etc have pure standard bengali accent and words). But in the national standard is sudha(pure) bengali though overall people speak standard bengali with sadhu(old)-colito(new/pure) mixed accents and words. This thing not only happens in BD but also in West Bengal like Uttar Banga, there people also use sadhu(old)-colito(new/pure) mixed accents and words. WB not entirely use pure bengali but in some selective places but it is the standard which established by our noble men. Also, in your hindi region, there are many palaces with different linguistic differences like Awadhi, brajabuli, bihari, Rajasthani, Haryanbhi etc. That does not mean that they are different. Hindi people region wisely use less or more farsi, arabic words. But, I got your point of view about East Bengal(Bangladesh). What can we do man, here muslim people try to use more arabic and farsi words to make Bengali islamic as Pakistani people did to their languages. We bengali hindus still use our native words like jal, snan, baba-ma, dadu-(thamma,didima), masi-musha, kaka-kaki etc. They(islamist) want to make Bangladesh hindu free and try to use less hinduic-Bengali language. They even sometimes disrespect the national anthem because it was written by a hindu writer, and also its a song to praise Bangla mata(mother bengal). They teach the wrong history of the Indian sub-continent, use of more arabic-farsi words, how to convert non-muslims, glorification of Islamic invaders all over the world and etc. to the students in the madrasas and mosques. So, eventually muslim people became anti-hindu from very little age. And try to remove hindu ness from bengali. I hope u understand. 🙏

You forgot to mention another similarity that serving of Bengali cuisine (a multi-course tradition where food is served course-wise, usually in a specific manner) more or less resembles the à la russe style of French cuisine where food is brought out in sequence and served in portions.😊☺

This is so surreal to me seeing that a foreign that too an international language having similarities to Bengali. Everywhere I go, people say "Oo! Bengali is such a sweet language". I took pride in it. But people also saying French is a sweet language didn't make sense to me. But seeing the parallelisms and co-relation along with your in depth study made me open my mind for French.

As a french with Bangladeshi partner, I was so happy to see this video. You were very on point with french language and cultural references, maybe the only thing I do not agree is the video saying Paris is dirtier than New York city, since they grabbed the video during a strike of the garbage collectors where there was a lot of trash outside which usually are not. I enjoyed learning more about Bengali culture and we also felt this conception of shared personality/cultures sometimes with my Bangladeshi partner as we really like to debate, especially about politics, and both know the importance to acknowledge our rights and fight for it if necessary. But maybe I think Bengali culture has more of a poetic touch than French, from what I understood there is a music culture (like people gathering and singing together) which is not so much common in France nowadays. We can sometimes be very direct and some people try to avoid being romantic or poetic. I hope to visit both Bangladesh and India one day, and I will definitely want to see the places you shared in the video!!
There is only one problem, there is actually a vast cultural difference between Bangladeshis and Bengalis from West Bengal! To be honest apart from the language and a few common ingredients in the cuisine, there are no other elements in common. Please visit Kolkata and West Bengal as a whole during your trip to India.

Wonderful content. The child trafficking theme pandal was originally from Kashi Bose Lane Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata this year. It was breathtaking. Nowadays they recycle some of these theme pandals for pujas like Jagadhatri Puja that come after Durga Puja . Which is great because such beautiful intricate works of art should be preserved as long as possible and seen by many.
I wish everyone perceives the world as shown in the video, trying to join and connect rather than differentiate and severe every culture, language and sentiment. This video can be a start to that :) ❤️
The sheer effort u make to bring such cultural similarity to us, is amazing....if every people think this way ,they will never see others culture as their enemy sense ....they will embrace them too which will create a harmony of multiple cultures....I know it may sound very utopian but doesn’t it sound good ?
I was kind of aware about the similarities between french and bengali language and common behaviour.....but I really got to know a lot about the cultural oppression that both of these cultures faced. I even did researched about dadaism and impressionism in college back in 2021 and your video made me recall all of that.😇😇😇

When I visited Chandannagar last week, I met a dadu on a toto who said the same thing to me "bangali ra aar forasi ra ekdom eki rokom chhilo", I did not completely understand why. He tried explaining but since he reached his destination soon I didn't get a chance to ask the many questions I had. So thank you so much for this video, this is probably exactly what he meant!

We have been exploring the Bengali and Italian (specifically Neapolitan) connection (albeit with comedy) for a while now, and have found huge similarities as well. Many of the points you have captured in this video specifically that of art and culture are very valid for the Italian connection as well. The importance of tight family bonding and the respect that the mothers and grandmothers have in an Italian family also is a very strong similarity. We are currently working on a series on similar lines but the other way around “Italians are the Bengalis of Europe”, this is because Europe as a whole can be compared to India w.r.t the fact that cultures, traditions languages change every few hundred kilometers so a state in India can be correlated to a country in Europe. As a Bengali who learned French in school for 5 years, as much as I hated it for all the complexities and inconsistencies French had with its phonetics, I have to admit that I never realised or noticed until now that my own language had just as many phonetical irregularities and inconsistencies as French. Most likely because it's my mother tongue, and it all just comes out naturally for me (same would go for French people). So I just never noticed it, as a native speaker. However, those 5 years of learning French as a foreign language were absolute chaos.
English also has this quality as well. Though/Tough/Cough/Brough.

I think Japanese is also very similar to Bengali. Example:
1. Khete chai = Tabe tai (食べたい)
Sunte chai = kiki tai (聞きたい)
Jete chai = iki tai (行きたい)
Chaa pan kori na = Ocha o nomi nai (お茶を飲みない)
2. Bujhi na = wakara nai (分からない)
Khai na = tabe nai (食べない)
Jai na = ika nai (行かない)
Kichu na = nandemo nai (何でもない)
3. Boka = Baka (バカ)
4. School e jabi na? = Gakkou ni ika nai? (学校に行かない?)
Aksathe porbi na? = Isshoni benkyoshi nai? (一緒に便器好しない?)

Nice material and very well presented. Interesting fact UNESCO promote International Mother Language Day because of this very beautiful language which was almost extinct due to politics. Now an estimated 172 million native speakers in Bangladesh and 102 million native speakers in West Bengal. Thank you to the people who fought to keep this language alive.

Sorry bro a little correction for you, You Bangladeshis are not Bengali even ethnically they're Bangladeshi just like Germany because 99% of your people don't even speak Bengali you mainly use Urdu and Arabic with couple of Bengali words and that's not Bengali you just use Bengali script just like all European languages uses Latin script for their respective language you may question how we Indians know that Bangladeshis speak Urdu and Arabic with some distorted Bengali words because India is a multicultural multi lingual country every Indian can understand and speak at least 3 languages generally it becomes more than 3 now coming to the point Hindi and Urdu are very similar and close to each other you don't need to read and write if you can understand and speak one language between one of these two you can speak other 90% of it fluently without any problem and the way majority 99% Bangladeshis speaks with Urdu and Arabic words along with couple of distorted Bengali words no one will consider you as Bengali and most importantly you Bangladeshis don't even follow Bengali culture even they don't have any contribution on the development of Bengali language by contributing on Bengali literature. What it was in the past when Bengal was undivided it is now in the pages of history books after partition of Bengal in1947 jump to now we are miles apart the separated part of Bengal now called as Banglades now have completely changed from every aspect whether its from culturally , Ethnically or linguistically because some other external factors causes this transformation on this landmass of separated Bengal/East-pakistan
@@sdg3066 first of all you need to understand the regional linguistic difference of Bengal and your hindi/urdu. Every region has its unique linguistic accent and words like Sylheti, Chattogrami, Dhakaiya, Noakhailla, Cumillaian, Borisailla, Rangpuri and in the west side of BD (like Khulna etc have pure standard bengali accent and words). But in the national standard is sudha(pure) bengali though overall people speak standard bengali with sadhu(old)-colito(new/pure) mixed accents and words.
This thing not only happens in BD but also in West Bengal like Uttar Banga, there people also use sadhu(old)-colito(new/pure) mixed accents and words. WB not entirely use pure bengali but in some selective places but it is the standard which established by our noble men.
Also, in your hindi region, there are many palaces with different linguistic differences like Awadhi, brajabuli, bihari, Rajasthani, Haryanbhi etc. That does not mean that they are different. Hindi people region wisely use less or more farsi, arabic words.
But, I got your point of view about East Bengal(Bangladesh). What can we do man, here muslim people try to use more arabic and farsi words to make Bengali islamic as Pakistani people did to their languages. We bengali hindus still use our native words like jal, snan, baba-ma, dadu-(thamma,didima), masi-musha, kaka-kaki etc. They(islamist) want to make Bangladesh hindu free and try to use less hinduic-Bengali language. They even sometimes disrespect the national anthem because it was written by a hindu writer, and also its a song to praise Bangla mata(mother bengal). They teach the wrong history of the Indian sub-continent, use of more arabic-farsi words, how to convert non-muslims, glorification of Islamic invaders all over the world and etc. to the students in the madrasas and mosques.
So, eventually muslim people became anti-hindu from very little age. And try to remove hindu ness from bengali.

This is so surreal to me seeing that a foreign that too an international language having similarities to Bengali. Everywhere I go, people say "Oo! Bengali is such a sweet language". I took pride in it. But people also saying French is a sweet language didn't make sense to me. But seeing the parallelisms and co-relation along with your in depth study made me open my mind for French.

As a french with Bangladeshi partner, I was so happy to see this video. You were very on point with french language and cultural references, maybe the only thing I do not agree is the video saying Paris is dirtier than New York city, since they grabbed the video during a strike of the garbage collectors where there was a lot of trash outside which usually are not.
I enjoyed learning more about Bengali culture and we also felt this conception of shared personality/cultures sometimes with my Bangladeshi partner as we really like to debate, especially about politics, and both know the importance to acknowledge our rights and fight for it if necessary. But maybe I think Bengali culture has more of a poetic touch than French, from what I understood there is a music culture (like people gathering and singing together) which is not so much common in France nowadays. We can sometimes be very direct and some people try to avoid being romantic or poetic.
I hope to visit both Bangladesh and India one day, and I will definitely want to see the places you shared in the video!!
There is only one problem, there is actually a vast cultural difference between Bangladeshis and Bengalis from West Bengal! To be honest apart from the language and a few common ingredients in the cuisine, there are no other elements in common. Please visit Kolkata and West Bengal as a whole during your trip to India.

Wonderful content. The child trafficking theme pandal was originally from Kashi Bose Lane Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata this year. It was breathtaking. Nowadays they recycle some of these theme pandals for pujas like Jagadhatri Puja that come after Durga Puja . Which is great because such beautiful intricate works of art should be preserved as long as possible and seen by many.
I wish everyone perceives the world as shown in the video, trying to join and connect rather than differentiate and severe every culture, language and sentiment. This video can be a start to that :) ❤️

I was kind of aware about the similarities between french and bengali language and common behaviour.....but I really got to know a lot about the cultural oppression that both of these cultures faced. I even did researched about dadaism and impressionism in college back in 2021 and your video made me recall all of that.😇😇😇

When I visited Chandannagar last week, I met a dadu on a toto who said the same thing to me "bangali ra aar forasi ra ekdom eki rokom chhilo", I did not completely understand why. He tried explaining but since he reached his destination soon I didn't get a chance to ask the many questions I had. So thank you so much for this video, this is probably exactly what he meant!

With bengali friends, i ,a non native of bengal couldn't stop falling in love with their culture...your videos literally took it to the next level. ...ar amar bondhu amake bangla shikiyeche...... they did help me become a better person because of our light hearted conversations. We literally bunk classes and sing songs.... we end up thinking we shouldn't be bunking but eventually bunk because we can't resist finishing our important business.😅
