Craig, once again, bravo on the extraordinary opening episode of Season 3 of Telling Our Stories. It was captivating, unfiltered, and profoundly honest. The conversation with the guys about dating, living authentically, and thriving within the community was not only powerful but essential. These are exactly the conversations that Black gay men need to be having - those that are open, honest, and transformative. What made this dialogue even more captivating was the incredible diversity represented among us, from the varying ages and locations to the wide range of experiences and perspectives that were shared. It’s a rare and powerful thing to witness such a rich tapestry of Black gay men, especially when mainstream media so often overlooks or misrepresents our complexities. The care and intention you’ve poured into facilitating this important and meaningful dialogue are evident. It’s been a gift to experience such a thoughtful and vulnerable exchange, and I’m excited to tap in even further as the conversation continues.

I love this show and topic!!! It's great to see Black Gay Men who are in their 30's 40's and 50's who are not only looking great but showing the world that we can enjoy live and evolve.
Please keep this platform going! It's so appreciated as a 45 year old, single, gay black man, to hear others who share in the same/similar stages in this life.
The fact that this popped up on my feed means someone out there, up above, is really looking out for me. I'm 55, single, after being in a relationship for 23 years, feeling a little invisible. Feeling like my more marketable years of my life were wasted on a relationship with an expiration date. Seems like I was a hot thang the other day and recently woke up as a "sir". Anyhow, as I navigate this stage, seeing this makes me feel not so alone. The tough part is how I navigate it. I lived in Atlanta in the 90's, now back in California, in San Francisco. I see I need to come back to the ATL. This is so needed and so helpful. I'm so glad you realized the need and took this on. thank you so much.
As a gay 31-year-old living and working in Japan, this conversation is giving me so much life. I am genuinely looking forward to the next episodes because it's feeding a part of my soul that I knew needed nourishment. Thank you to all of you for the work you're doing for our community, black, queer, and otherwise.
Babe this thang is going to be good. Cause I feel as a straight woman we have so of the same parallels when it comes to dating and aging in many ways. Craig I have told you before. You are really doing the Lords work.
This really resonated with me. Thank you for doing this. I will be sharing it with a number of my friends. A 75 year-old, white, gay guy from Baltimore, still aging, Jim
The best discussion between Gay men I've heard in 25 years. I just sat back and listened. Didn't want to add anything. Just hear your stories. I'm 68 and out since I was 18. From NYC. I saw an entire generation die. I never got over that. Obviously that transformed some of the men here too. I stayed strong, but life was forever changed. Anyway, thank you again for this great conversation. I looked on you all and thought "what a really nice family to be part of there."

Bravo, Craig, bravo! As a Black gay man who is experiencing the journey of aging, I can't express enough how necessary and timely this conversation is. This first episode has resonated with me on such a deep level. The dialogue you've facilitated among your friends is not just important, it's crucial for so many of us navigating similar paths. Every word spoken felt like it was meant for me, offering new perspectives and wisdom that have genuinely influenced how I view my intentions and relationships moving forward. Your ability to create a space where these voices can be heard is invaluable, and I'm grateful to you for bringing this conversation to light. Thank you, Craig, for sharing this powerful narrative with the world. I can't wait to see where the rest of this season takes us.

It was a great beginning conversation where real issues that arise were alluded. The panel was diverse in ages, which provided a robust discussion. I am looking forward to seeing if the discussion will unfold any solutions or positive outcomes for those of us who are black, gay and of an experienced age.
Oh, I’m so excited for this season! 😍 when it comes to dating, I’m experiencing the same as a 36 year old heterosexual woman and it’s frustrating. Men just want to hook up (most of the time raw & that’s a huge no for me 🙅🏽♀️) and they barely take the time to get to know you. I cannot stand the dating apps but I know I have to get with the times in order to meet someone today. I look forward to the future conversations. Thank you Craig! ❤

Very informative and very raw… being black, gay, single, and aging is truly not something I thought about in my youth. However, it is something I think of now more so than before.

Wow this first episode of Telling Our Stories:Black, Gay, and Aging is hitting the milestones in life when it comes to self worth, trust, relationships, experiences, etc and being able to navigate through everything. This episode is very insightful, very mindful, very inclusive, very well experienced, very demure 💖💖💖💖 So buckle up for this season of Telling Our Stories: Black, Gay, and Aging this will be learning and more understanding of life and what we go through regardless of sex, gender, orientation, race, generation etc in both communities 💖💖💖💖
THIS was very interesting! I was riveted and I knew I was into it when I kept checking how much time was left and started feeling myself getting more and more anxious as the clock ticked down...lmao! I enjoyed each individuals perspective and a lot of what people said resonated with my experiences. I'm glad to know that i'm not the only man who has essentially married my house, lol. I'm looking forward to the next installment.
A very important conversation. I’m at the tail end of the baby boomer generation. As alluded to in the discussion, I feel HIV/AIDS has had a significant impact on my circle of friends and dating community. I find those I run around with tend to be 5 to 10 years younger than me … that wasn’t always the case. Unfortunately many of those who were my age passed right before the medical solutions came out. I’ve tried the apps but my experiences were similar to those who commented in this episode … not my cup of tea. My POV aligns most with Scott’s comments. Thanks above all else to the entire group for your vulnerability in having the dialogue and giving voice to the thoughts of many. Well done.
A real conversation about aging in the gay community would be about retirement, community resources for the aging gentleman, how to improve on our poor body image related to over-weight and out of shape, gray/balding, mental and physical healthcare, and who will be there for you when you have difficulty doing for yourself.
You guys are essentially speaking about lifestyles adaptation, and how dating has changed the way you approach gay interactions. Which is understandable, because with age comes maturity. Let’s face it, most men gay or straight are visual beings, and our desired attractions are being with younger people. From my own perspective and experiences, our attracted to the younger generation for many reasons, but mostly it’s exciting. We all know ourselves, and with youth comes adventure. But, from your conversation, aging entails should touch on our health and well-being. When gay men age, we are less appealing to the younger generation, especially men who for the most part are superficial, and less financially secure. Let’s admit it, this new gay generation is more sophisticated, have more choices, and freedoms. Nevertheless, at 64 years old, most of my friends and ex-companions from my era have passed away. My concerns in the past were stigmas stereotyping, via contracting HIV/AIDS, crack addition, family rejections biases. Just check out @hopelessromanticsociety where the younger people only speak about today’s lifestyles and trends, but never reference the history of who and what shaped their prospectives. Good topic thought.
I'm 72 so the term aging means what you described at the beginning. Craig should drop the term aging. And maybe use middle age and single instead. It's great to hear the perspective of middle age gay men . There wasn't a platform like this 30 years ago for the baby boomers together and watch and discuss among their friends and family. Maybe the middle ages can do that now. As for me and my issues hopefully some black baby boomer will create a program that meet those who are about to enter or have entered old age
Why would a straight man watch this? I’m genuinely curious and confused are you studying or are discovering something about yourself or is it all just entertainment?
@@EtherealGoddess_EntWhat a silly question. Why are you as a Woman watching it? He clearly said he’s LEARNING…that implies acquiring knowledge of things you don’t know. Stop trying to find something nefarious in that 😒
@@EtherealGoddess_Entwhy not? Maybe a friend sibling or a member of his family is gay. More often than not it’s either to learn from outside sources than the actual person you know . They’re not always comfortable talking about their sexuality specially in a parent child relationship and a men friendship because they will get your reaction. The Gay community always complaining about being marginalised misunderstood etc and when straight men are making the effort you doubt or imply there’s something more. It’s exhausting.
@@TheeCoachgPRECIATE YOU FOR DEFENDING ME AND YES I HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS THAT'S A PART OF THE COMMUNITY YOU KNOW WHAT'S AMAZING TO ME THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY CRITICIZED AND SHUN HETEROSEXUAL PEOPLE OF THE SAME BLACK COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING SOMEONE WHO IS A PART OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY AS WELL THAT IS PART OF THE LBGTQ COMMUNITY I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT PART I SUPPORT CRAIG BECAUSE HE IS A POSITIVE INSPIRING INTELLIGENT BROTHA AND I WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE LBGTQ COMMUNITY I AM AN ALLY TO THEM I'M PRO-BLACK REGARDLESS IF YOU'RE STRAIGHT OR GAY😊

Very informative and very raw… being black, gay, single, and aging is truly not something I thought about in my youth. However, it is something I think of now more so than before.
The one in the Harlem shirt 😉 I’m single too
This conversation was needed and I'm happy you all addressed it.
This popped up on my feeds and I also passed it by, I'm glad I didn't!!! I'm a black musical performer born in Houston but I live in Vienna, Austria. I'm a dad of two boys 15 and 12 with a lesbian married couple and we share the kids and do school duty as well as all holidays together. I've been single 11 years but recently started dating again. Man, this table talk was exactly what I need to hear. It brought me clarity and insight on exactly my case is about dating at 56, thank you, SOOO MUCH!!! Hugs to you all!!
So glad you watched! If you check my channel, there’s a conversation with queer men and women. It’s season one. There’s a total of 3 seasons ❤️
Craig, thank each and every one of your guests for sharing their stories. It is wonderful seeing black gay men sharing their stories. Great job! When is the next episode? LOL
Monday! 👌🏽
@@CraigTheWriterStewart Thanks. I will be watching. Also the audio was very good. Passing the mic around worked well.
Thank you for sharing your stories.I can't wait for the next episode!
Being honest, I’m not totally reflective of the title (I’m a 40+ single Cis Het Black Woman and a PenPal).
This conversation though? I’m here agreeing and Mhmming!!
I understand there are nuances in the conversation but Calvin and Scott were saying some things that spoke to me!
I’ll be here for the next drop, so many gems. Well done Craig 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Loved how you approached this comment lol. Had me thinking you didn’t connect with anything then you double backed lol. Thank you ❤️

Thank you for watching ✊🏽
THIS was very interesting! I was riveted and I knew I was into it when I kept checking how much time was left and started feeling myself getting more and more anxious as the clock ticked down...lmao! I enjoyed each individuals perspective and a lot of what people said resonated with my experiences. I'm glad to know that i'm not the only man who has essentially married my house, lol. I'm looking forward to the next installment.
I am LOVING this conversation! Can’t wait until Pt2! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
BRAVO & KUDOS TOO YOU CRAIG & COMPANY!!!❤👑👍🏆 👏 THIS SEGMENT, LIKE THE OTHERS, WAS VERY INFORMATIVE & MIND OPENING!! ❤️😄
These are phenomenal topics and conversations,
A very important conversation.
Craig!!!! This was a gooood episode. Can't wait for the next one on 9/2. Great panel of men sharing their stories and feelings on dating. Loved it!!!❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have greatly enjoyed Telling Our Stories. Craig, you are such an inspiration for us. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks so much
HEY CRAIG CAN'T WAIT FOR TELLING OUR STORIES SEASON 3 AS A HETEROSEXUAL MAN I LEARNED A LOT FROM LOOKING AT YOUR TH-cam SERIES ☺️
Thank you for your support!
I absolutely love love LOVE this series. I wish you were on WE network. You are amazing.
Wow, thank you!
A black man from Alabama drinking a miller lite. I LOVE IT!!!!❤❤❤
These conversations are needed and I'm appreciative for the panelist for their reflections and stories. Thank you for creating this vulnerable and safe space. ❤️
You’re most welcome. ✊🏽
As a young gay, it is so refreshing to hear this perspective. Thank you. I literally am about to be straight because the quality of men my age is…. Insane. Maybe I need to open my mind up to older gentlemen.
Craig, this is such a necessary conversation with so many different voices and vantage points. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love this concept!! Can’t wait for more episodes 😎
You are truly working your purposeful ministry. Congratulations on a job well done. We need more conversations which hopefully leads to cultivating better quality understandings amongst our brethren.
Thank you so much ❤️
I love Craig for this! I enjoy your platform
Thank you ❤️
As a 41 year old I really enjoyed this
Wow!!!!!! I’m staying tuned. For now, WOW
This is great Craig!❤ Youre doing "the lords" work! 👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you kindly ❤️
this was soo beautiful to watch
Check out season 1, A Conversation with Black Queer Men & Women 👌🏽
This gets better and better every episode! I love everyone’s point of view. The social media and texting definitely kills the “getting to know you” phase it’s so annoying! Well done everyone can’t wait until next week!
Enjoy the group, the conversations really hit home.
Thank You❤
An amazing and much needed conversation from a maturing group of men finding their way thru this evolution of personal growth. I miss having these conversations with the men of my church where I facilitated in our men's ministry. Def will check out the rest of this great series. Thank you Craig for steering and presenting this important conversation. I'm 63 and can identify with much of what they are discussing. I've been blessed to be in a relationship for going on 28yrs in Sept and hope to see you do some long term relationship conversations in the future with some gay brothas. keep up this great work.
This is good! We need this conversation ❤❤❤
Craig I am a Heterosexual woman at 52 years old who was in a marriage of 20 years and divorced 3 years ago and wanted to start dating again and experience the same things that you guys discussed. In my experience the men that I have dating the majority are looking for just a quick sex based situation ship . No one wants commitment or companionship 🦋And I am also comfortable being alone if the right man doesn’t come along 🦋
