- Dende explains how Guru is the eldest Namek and that he alone is responsible for repopulating his race on the planet. Dende says that he is Guru's one hundred and eighth child. Bulma asks Dende how exactly his father was capable of having a child all by himself. Dende says that the eggs came out from his mouth. Bulma assumes that he is actually a she, but Dende halts this prospect by stating that he is unaware of the concept of a female. Bulma tries to explain to Dende that there's a difference between males and females but Dende tells her that he only knows one gender.
Imagine adolescent Goku from the original series, confirming this by walking around a swatting everybody on the crotch.

I think it was pretty much obvious, seeing Piccolo's back story on Earth, that the Namekians are basically genderless, but still have basic outward male expression. No one really questions that. What I wanna know is more about Frieza's Race or an episode like this that touches on more on their origin and evolution.
We get to see every Villain's Back story like how it evolved and created except Frieza!

I mean, Piccolo, who's also a Namekian, was born when his own father, King Piccolo, spat out an egg that contained Piccolo in it. Plus, all of King Piccolo's minions were his children and all of them came out of eggs that King Piccolo spat out.

Everyone here acting like asexual reproduction of large multicellular lifeforms isn't normally considered a dead end. Also namekians definitely have different genders, their just not sex based. We know of 3 off hand Dragon clan, warrior clan, and demon clan each denoting a different set of abilities that are genetically linked to their birth. It is why piccolo can't create a dragon but kami can. If it was a matter of learning piccolo knows everything Kami does because they fused, but still can't create a dragon because he isn't of the proper clan.
Those aren’t different genders, just different roles determined by their genetics. All Namekians are male, but they have different biological purposes in life. It is like how male bees (Drones) do not have stingers and exist mainly to fertilise the Queen, and the two female types of bee, Queens and Workers, differ greatly in size and biological purpose.

Asexual reproduction in creatures that are large organisms is very rare on earth. The biggest animal on earth that can asexually/clone reproduce are female lizards. Snails are hermaphrodites that can both sexually and asexually reproduce by inseminating others or themselves. Sex and gender are certainly the same. Namekians in Dragon Ball biologically are all male, but are hermaphrodites, meaning that they reproduce without the need for the opposite sex. Namekians also don’t experience 'attraction', as their race doesn’t possess any females.
Humans are of course either male or female, as determined by an individual's genetics, specifically the X and Y chromosomes, before birth. Some animals can biologically change their gender from male to female and back again depending on what their environment calls for. Mammals don’t possess this ability.
An interesting example of the ability to change gender in the animal kingdom in real life would be the Parrot Fish, which undergoes quite a transformation when it chooses to go from male to female / female to male!

Biologically there are only 2 genders. People have different sexualities but gender is based off of DNA and feelings and society’s standards don’t change DNA. You can call yourself a woman, and everyone else has no problem calling you that, but biologically male is not arguable until they develop DNA editing. Only then could there be more than 2. Right? I love how Bulma’s response to dende explaining how his race procreates was racism by calling namekain’s boing for not having two genders. These people are a peaceful race who know fighting techniques, have cool abilities such as their healing factors, being able to heal people, and only needing to survive off water, and she disses their race calling them boing.
