    A steam power plant consists of a boiler (with super heater), turbine, generator and low- and high pressure feed water pre heaters. The condensates from the pre heaters are lead to the condenser. a) Sketch a picture of the connections in the power plant b) Calculate the extraction mass flows from the turbine c) Calculate the electrical power output and the total efficiency The following is given: Feed water flow Pressure after feed water pump Temperature after super heater Pressure in condenser Pressure after condensate pump Temperature after HP preaheater Temperature after LP preheater Isentropic efficiency of the turbine Boiler efficiency Mechanical efficiency Generator efficiency 100 kg/s 60 bar 500°C 0.1 bar 5 bar 150°C 100°C 0.8 0.83 0.99 0.98 For the preheaters and the condenser it is given that the out coming feed water temperature is the same as the saturation temperature of the extracted steam. However, observe that the steam extracted is NOT saturated. It is also given that the extraction-flow after the feed water preheater is saturated liquid water.
