Well done and thank you. I picked this lens up for $4 in the bargain box at my local camera store seemingly tossed there because it was stuck open at f1.4. Watching your video suggests to me that someone opened the lens for cleaning (it's very clean) but put it together wrong. Thanks for showing me how to do a quick fix of this problem. If the problem is elsewhere and can't be fixed, no worries the lens is sharp wide open. Merci beaucoup. ☆☆☆☆☆

Ahahah I'm in the very same situation. I got a Chinon camera with this lens for 3€ and the aperture is stuck wide open. Have you fixed your issue?

Thanks alot for this video! Managed to clean the aperture blades of an Auto Revuenon 55mm F/1.4 (German rebranded version of the Chinon) and get it to working order again :)

Awesome video, i have fungus on the last element, the one closest to the camera sensor, how do you open the rear block element so i can clean the very last one? Thank you!

    two tips:
    - if you haven't got a 3D printer around, a rear lens cap works very well, in my case a nikon one fitted perfectly, pressing the bicycle tube on the cover ring
    - at the point where you want to get that ring off that covers the blades (at 4:57), you can also fully open the blades, turn the whole thing around, put it on the table, and with a very small flat screwdriver you can press on that ring. just be very carefull you press the ring only, and not press on the blades!!

Don't think this is a Tomioka.
