I don't even know how to thank you sir. It is because of people like you that students like us who doesn't get proper educational opportunity and guidance even after going to an engineering school due to lack of resources, gets opportunity to learn. These educational videos are the soul and hear of TH-cam and what the power of internet can do to humanity. I wish with all my heart that one day a genius from anywhere in the world would watch these videos and revolutionize the field of engineering like you did with your texts and teachings. My utmost respect to you.

can you imagine, while we are in abundance of information that is here to move us into the future, in some countries, sites like TH-cam are unavailable due to government restrictions....
w = 3π/7 is periodic with period 14. You can actually see the first 3 and the last 3 samples on his graph are the same. To check if it's periodic, you need to see if there is an N such that w*N = k*2π for some integer k. In this case, if N=14, 3π/7*14 = 6π = 3*2π, so it is periodic.
This shows us, sometimes the less views or comments a video was given the more valuable it might be, far beyond easy to consume mainstream stuff. Really neredy :)
Oppenheim set the path I would take in life. I had the original DSP hardcover textbook. Back then probably $20 or so. I was taking complex analysis when I took DSP in the math dept as a math theory class. How many of us in the early days of neural networks carried his book. MIT needs to do an AI enhance on the videos.
In those days Computer Science Engineering bachelor's & master's degree should have DSP & DSPr ( Architecture & Interfacing) in their syllabus curriculum
Is the book Discrete-Time Signal Processing (third edition) the right material for these lectures? or is there other video lectures out there for that book?

I wanna like this comment, but i dont wanna disturb the 69 likes
@ totally agree with u
Its 35yrs since it was recorded, and its still magical. Respect Sir. Knowledge in its pristine form (y)
now it's 49yrs......
The way the courses from this Professor are lectured are fantastic. Thank you MIT and Alan Oppenheim
So this is the author (or co-auhtor) of the legendary Digital Signal Processing textbook, published by Prentice-Hall.

You are rigth, he point that out on the text material of this course
Thank you Sir Openhim for these briliant lectures, more thanks to MIT for providing us with such valuable resources😊

Wow this explanation!!! The best one ❤️👌
Oppenheim lectures are like the Feynman lectures. The processing in my iPhone is based on the Oppenheim book.
He teaches so much better than my professor !
HHAHAH the voiceover corrections add the touch of unintentional humor that this needs
Many thanks for these lectures Sir..
Attention: at 6:00 minutes in Unit Step, use u(n) = 0 for n < 0.
He read it correctly and later at 6:30 he said, it should'nt be less than and equal to zero.
do you know who is this legend ? He can't make a mistake like this even in dream.
I don't understand why it equals 1 and not -1 8:08
at approx 33:00, i don't understand why the signal is left shifted? Can someone please explain.
Umar K -4-k=-(k+4)=>flip and shit to the left by 4
capisce?
Because h(k) is signal when h(0-k) = h(-k) so h(-k) is absolutely time shift or opposite to the h(k). Do you understood?
Learning DSP from pringles man... Awesome.
Some of those you can wrestle with in study guides :D
This is extremely helpful. Thank you for providing such a valuable resource.
if omega =rational number times pi then it is periodic, so 3/7pi is periodic
You are rigth, he point that out on the text material of this course
Yes...it is periodic with period 14.
Miss his fractal tie
I think that I was taught all this in 8th semester of collage.
^ unnecessary comment, he corrects it in the video
Lol....!!! CGI, Graphics in 13:18 watch sinusoidal letter in board.

Yes Discrete-Time Signal Processing is the right book
@@rishipl3559I use this book in my engineering school“Essentials of Digital Signal Processing”, by Lathi and Green, Cambridge
Thank you very much sir!!
