A thick slab put unnecessary weight on the columns. For a residential project there are better ways of achieving strength and quality while keeping cost down.
Well on a sloping land , a ‘thick’ slab can also act as a shear wall. Lateral forces on sloping land , should be transferred into columns via the slab without distress or cracking
