So fun, you know we share a love for exploring Asian markets. Can't wait for the taste test video. I was just in Toronto and we went to an Asian mall in the suburbs, really felt like being back in China in certain spots.
We certainly do share that love! Do you have other international markets in Montreal? I would love to check out some kind of European market, maybe African, maybe South American - I'll have to look around here :)
OMg so many, the big ones like Greek, Italian, a gazillion Asian ones, Middle Eastern, etc. Down to African, Haitian, Jamaican, Caribbean, Portuguese, Indian, Mexican, Peruvian, Latin, Russian, Hungarian, Lebanese, Eastern European, Austrian, those are the ones I remember.

I miss 99 Ranch Market in Mountain View, CA. You forgot to show us Chinese pastry isle, I love Chinese breads like coconut buns, BBQ pork buns, red bean buns and so on.
I have relatives in Nanjing, and I am from San Jose. I have a 99 Ranch Market near me.
There are four near me the first one is at San Gabriel, the other is in Alhambra, and Monterey Park, and lastly Arcadia in SoCali
There are at least two 99 Ranch stores in the San Diego area, plus an H-Mart, but no Hankook
Classic Sichuan Hot pot is tough on my stomach too! I really like Guangdong style hot pot with handmade meatballs and really good sliced beef. And then the dipping sauces are where you can add your different spice levels!

There are different types of hot pot, not just spicy Szeuchuan hot pot.
Pandan flavor comes from the leaf of the screwpine plant (Pandanus amaryllifolius). It's used for flavoring sweets, especially Vietnamese waffles. Some people say it has a toasty or popcorn-like aroma and taste.
I would like to see you visit Berkeley Bowl and Monterey Market.

Berkeley Bowl has two branches: the original at 2020 Oregon Street, and Berkeley Bowl West at 920 Heinz Avenue. For me, Berkeley Bowl West is a lot easier to get to (it's close to a freeway exit), and the parking is much better.
If you go to Monterey Market, you might also want to check out the other stores that are close by: Magnani's Poultry, Raxahoul Coffee and Cheese, Monterey Fish, and Gioia Pizzeria. They're all within a half a block of each other.
99 ranch market has many branches and I have been to the branch in Foster City CA. Marina Food also has many branches and I have been to the branch in San Mateo CA. I used to buy dragonfruits at Marina Food (hispanic stores also sell dragonfruit). For cheap unrefined vegan staple foods, I usually rely on costco for organic steel cut oats which I boil 2x a day and pour over high calcium greens like kale, collards, mustard greens, turnip greens and bok choy. Costco also sells cyanocobalamin vitamin b12 needed by vegans and cyanocobalamin is recommended by Dr Michael Greger (nutritionfacts org) over methylcobalamin (methylcobalamin is also sold at costco).
Do they have fruit drops at 99 Ranch?? I have been looking everywhere for them.

The stools there for sell at 99 Ranch will be your friend because if I was there you will need to sit down. I say that as I would go row by row looking at everything to put in my tummy 😂 I must say your selections look very yummy and I know you will enjoy. I all the tasty delights 🤤🤤

Lol I always shop there , I only get the fried fish. Try it it's good. They fry it fresh and tasty.😋😋.
Also kukje tye Korean market near by it's great. And you have to try their fresh ready worm meals by the kitchen inside. So underrated . My favorite is the beef chops over rice . Try it✌😙🤗
Fried fish?! Yes please! It's funny this is my first time at 99 Ranch, because there's one only about a 20 min drive from where I currently live. I'll have to go back for round 2 soon!!

Well I can say that I don't like Chinese shops - markets or supermarkets etc.. They can be big but most of food - well is not good for health to eat that. Fruits and vegetables are okay, with this still need to be careful as there are so many cheaters here they will do everything for money. In easy way to say is like this - can walk in a supermarket for an hour and buy 2 items. Can buy some imported food but the prices are crazy. I understand that they eat different, but fast noodles and most of snacks in store are just like fake food. Ahh big subject about food in China.
