This is wonderful , I’m 53 and I’ve just bought some bongos . I just practised this lesson on my thighs as I have got to go pick the drums up . Great Easy beginner lesson. . Thankyou so much 🥰
Hi, I’m 59 and got my first set of bongos and my first lesson was with you. I may not have the beat yet, but, I have something good to practice with, thanks for sharing your videos with us...🙏
Hello. I'm 34 years old and I recieved last afternoon what I have bought at Amazon: Remo's Skyndeep Pre-turned Bongo Drum. I'm loving it. Thank you for sharing.
Just picked up a set for 12 dollars at a thrift store January 3, 2022. They were loose between the drums, but I found a set of butterfly bolts inside and now they feel like new. Looks exactly like the LeSage Bongos Drums 7 in and 8 in Natural Bongo Set on Amazon for 55 dollars. They look like they were not used much at all, so I have to get a tuning key and see if I can learn the basics.
Really great video and teaching style. Helping getting started with the bongos. I struggle to get the repetition, but I see that practicing slowly helps. A visual representation of the rhythm might help, but this is already very good to be honest. Thanks!
You have an amazing way of teaching. Relaxed and flow thank you so much for your teachings as I find your technique & teaching so much easier to contact then other bongo videos iv seen.
I remember doing this rhythm on bongos in elementary school with my music teacher good memories & for one thing never get De Rosa bongos the ones with lugs as top tuning vintage style bad for got them due to that I used them at elementary school plus my friend JK used them & told me to get them yeah I did but once I got advanced those bongos hurt my hands just horrible plus tuning them with that key was horrible would not stay tuned that well so donated them to my local Deseret Industries thrift store for someone else to enjoy than was into LP Aspire bongos thank goodness they didn't kill my hands plus made me progress better when learning from you Kalani before on youtube plus glad my hands felt better than those pesty De Rosa bongos caused with the lugs just killing my hands while trying to play them correctly! Now play on LP Giovanni galaxy bongos best yet!!!
Looking forward to learning how to play my Bongos. I kind of have an idea about percussion rhythm as I used to play a drum set. Live in an apartment so no drum set.
Same here, I'm just about 47 (😉) and just got my first set of bongos. Thoroughly enjoying the lessons. I have a little experience with a normal drum kit so I have ( I hope 😂) the rhythm there. Great lessons, thank you. 😬 👍🏼
I just bought bongos for my 5 year old son. We came on TH-cam for an appropriate video, and there you are using the metronome app I made. Awesome how it comes around. Thanks, dude.
well years back i learnt basics of playing bongo and congo but thereafter never touched it. i want to learn again. i am from india and where can i get good quality bongo and congo. Would like to learn watching your videos. thanks
They're "congas", NOT congo! Congo, known as "The Democratic Republic of Congo" or simply "The Congo" is the central African country, that was formerly known as "Zaire". It is definitely not a percussion instrument.
When I first got my bongos I looked at this and thought it was not for me , but after trying other videos I began using this daily and thought it really was right for me
Oh my goodness! I'm so glad to have come across this video and channel! Wow! So excited to learn how to play the bongos! Thanks for this lesson and information! :)
If your bongos seem to be getting out of tune over time dont over tighten them, let the lugs chill and just place the bongos in the sun, the heat tightens the heads makes em sound really good
My experiencce : About the tuning, I bought a set of LP bongo whose macho is only 6 1/4'. I am disappointed because the sound is too low and has nothing to do with its traditional crystalline sound, I dare not adjust it higher. I conclude that it is preferable to pay a little more and choose a larger diameter for both drums. Ditto for the hembra 8'

hi sir. I am watching your all videos and I am learning your tutorials.
One request/ question.
I am beginner for bongos.
and I am using three piece bongos.
So please upload this explain video.
How to use 3 piece bongos?
How to tuning this bongos? Extra extra.
Thank you sir.
I’m not familiar with 3-piece bongos. Is that with three drums?
If so, use a stand and tune a little apart (like in thirds or fourths)
Just got my first bongos today
Can I play these with arthritis? I just got it. I am a guitar player of over 30 years and I want to play bongos now
