Recruitment ad for the Republican Party’s official government-sanctioned dance team: The Dragon Army wants YOU, Zhu Tian Cai, to join our ranks, bolster our defenses, and put your martial law of balancing acts into effect on a global scale unprecedented in times past. We seek your guidance, great one.

In the instructional video, he did not have the Buddha Pounds the Mortar as the second move after the Commencement Form, and went straight to the Tying Coat, which becomes the second move.
However, Rooster Standing on One leg was treated as two moves, one right leg and the other left leg.
If Buddha Pounds the Mortar is subsequently added in by him, I suppose Rooster Standing on One Leg (left and right) would be now treated as one move instead of two, otherwise the Form will have 14 moves and not 13.
Is there anybody here who can shed some light on this, like why GM Zhu changed it in some of his performances I saw on TH-cam?

Interesting comment. Maybe he did in that way only to show and know who copies from video.

I watched the demonstration by his sons, Zhu Xianghua and Zhu Xiangqian, and they too had the Buddha Pounds the Mortar for the second move (or first if you don't count the Commencement Form). Therefore, I believe the correct version would include it.
I am fine doing the Form with or without the Buddha Pounds the Mortar, but only curious to know why the Instructional Video did not have it. I don't think he was trying to find out who learned by copying from videos because one video is an Instructional Video and hence supposed to be teaching the way it is to be done correctly, and the other videos show him conducting seminars and training, so those got to be the correct thing.
By the way, it gets really painful to be punching your left palm with the knuckles of your right hand...do you know how to do it without causing pain?

I didn't ever had any pain while executing Buddha Pounds the Mortar, you have to train and condition your left hand.

If counting the opening form and the closing form, there will be 15 forms altogether, but for some reason, they are not included in the counting of the number of forms, thus 13 is the official number for it. Much like the popular simplified Yang stye 8 form not counting the beginning and the ending forms. One possible explanation would be the Chinese like number 8 and 13 much more than the number 10 or 15. 😂😂😂
