Great video! Very easy to follow the instructions to change the oil filter. I remember the first oil filter change on my 2005 4RT! What a nightmare 😰, took me like 2 hours to finish the job! Now I have a 2T and my life is more relaxed 😬. All the best from Guatemala, Central America.
Awesome Video Thank You so much! Your idea of working with bike on it's side seems so much easier. The first time I changed my oil filter I did so much more work than necessary. Completely removed state from sidecover. Your video so simple and clear helped me from doing a lot of unnecessary disassembly of stator... Thank you so much!
Hi could could you answer a question for me please as l am looking at a Montesa. Not being that into taking it all apart for an oil change how long is it now before you have to change all this now your engine is run in. A two stroke is looking easier. Confused to the max in choice now.👋
@@badlarry172 if you want something good it has to be a little baby, just like the old gasser pro you had to have clutch plates machined and then an oil change every good day out. Sherco Carburation....non stop job so just don’t touch them and Beta, just carry many plugs. Even the Scorpa Yam wasn’t perfect with wear against the clutch housing. (All my experience of course other riders opinions may differ). Honda is about as good as you get. All are high maintenance but the Monty is just that little bit more special.
What a rig a ma role to do an oil change every 6 months okay but almost every ride or 3 forget it buying a 2 stroke sherco probably I would like a 4 stroke I think they get little better traction no oil to mix with fuel there heavier to but also the engine needing repairs just as much as a 2 stroke why ? every 6 months rings every year piston that's what I read in a manual unless I seen things incorrectly you shouldn't have to touch that engine for 4 to 5 years even a 2 stroke 2 to 3 year's it's not needed unless very hard riden and riden lot's of hour's daily weekly whenever changing the oil like that also ridiculous
You have said my words, I'd love to get one but changing that all the time is a problem imho . A Sherco is on my ticket as well mix the juice up and just undo a bolt and drain engine oil replace and go, although fuel ejection sounds nice l wish Sherco had that.
@@TheFrog767 yeh but tell me more about the Sherco Carburation. How much time has it taken you to not get it right ? We know it and you know it. They are a mare!
it looks complicated but actually is easy. It is hard to compare apples to oranges. However, from my personal experience (I had 4 Betas, 1 Sherco, 1 Scorpa and 4GasGas ) 2 strokes bikes required different maintenance and I spend more time maintaining 2 strokes than Montesa Honda.
Yeah pulling the side cover for the oil filter is a bit ridiculous. Looks like the Beta 4 strokes have a small o-ringed cover for the oil filter, much more practical.
@@Deezle_Gaming part of the fun is loving the bike. Just put petrol in and ride is a very negative attitude. Playing with your machine is all part of the fun. Changing fork oil, lowering the forks, highering the forks, getting the best rebound, weighing yourself, finding the right rear spring, the right rear shock set up. It’s all part of the fun. Just pay to play then wash is pointless. You have to treat these bikes like they are an extension of yourself. You only get out of them what you put into them. Dial in what you need and they will perform.

Very helpful and posted this on a few Montesa boards. Looking forward to the RYP/Newport vid! TY J!
Very clear explanation - thanks. The bike is new to me so this sort of video is a big help
This video is great. And I laughed out loud at “don’t eat too much steroids before tightening these bolts”. Haha
Brilliant video Jatcek, Very helpful

This made up my mind. I will stick with a two stroke.

@@Deezle_GamingI would venture that the Honda will last much longer
@@OKFrax-ys2op Probably, it's just ridiculous that the oil filter doesn't have it's own o-ringed cover for the filter.
