Andrew Kelly is absolutely right: "Every one has this One feture from C++ they like and they want to put it in your language". Voila and now you're language that you said will be simple and easy to learn becomes bloatware after few years of developement with a lot of bugs, because whenever you adding something to your program (compiler especially, they are like scalpels) you must integrate this to work well with other futures. C is simple and many people are complaining its missing a lot of stuff, yet it's still alive and doing very well. If your langauge can't talk with C libraries it's dead language before it even started. Zig have potential to be new lingua franca of programming, because his unparalled compatibility with C (no bindings required and cross compilation of C code) but it will take time, a lot of time. C has huge head start and much bigger recognition as of now, but it's slowly changing and I'm happy to see that.
As Javascript Reactjs developer, i chose Zig to learn deeper about how programming language works and love it about how simple the language is. Probably i can change my career in future to something advance.

+ ".. and learn to do GOOD and INTERESTING COMMUNICATION .." I still think, (a not so small) part of the project success is your work and the way the project engages and communicates with the userbase.
When I watched the Strange Loop talk, I thought "I'm sure Loris, will have something to say about this". Thanks for your hindsight.

Frankly Zig renewed my joy of programming in a time where I got stuck with the C++ dogma and the endless amount of complexity.

Jesus, don't scare me like that. That expression in the thumbnail and the word "ending" in the title made me think you were stepping down.
