That SkyLake server was also air-cooled and regarding Xeon 3175 - well, yes, we all know they've screwed up, but this joke is getting old already.
@@AlexanderKalish In this video they are. And I know they run the skylake chips on air obviously, but why on earth would Intel demo it running at 5ghz with a chiller. They were trying to steal the show from TR2 release and it back fired on them. And no the joke is not dead nor old. Remember how long intel fans were roasting AMD about their hot chips ( no pun intended) yeah the roles are reversed now baby.
@@KingOgLy Well, looking back at what happened at last year's Computex I must say there was nothing to steal because everyone knew already that AMD's 12-16-core TR2 were good, but that 32-core TR2, despite the fact that it's impressive at a few certain tasks, isn't really impressive overall... 2950X on the other hand is very good and highly competitive.
@@AlexanderKalish Well it was before the reveal so intel couldn't have known . And the 2990WX had its place, it outshines anything is heavy threaded applications. But yeah I agree the 2950 is a better buy overall. The 2990wx is just AMD saying we can do it.

That's a whole lot of compute power and I/O bandwidth in one socket, and it doesn't gobble power or need a crazy cooling setup. Intel's marketing team must be working overtime trying to put the most positive spin on what is truly a dismal situation for the company.
i believe Intel going heavy on marketing because they cannot charge premium for their product

When is AMD going to get a huge chunk of the enterprise/server market place? We're already into the 3rd year of the Ryzen launch.
AMD has been gaining market share in server market ever since they launched Epyc. It takes years of deals and contracts to really ramp up business, but I can tell you, AMD doubled their chunk in q4 of 2018 alone. If that doesn't scream, "Intel's in trouble", I don't know what does.
I am a simple man, if I see great AMD tech in a video, I like the video

I bought rx 590 just to suport AMD, when ryzen 3000 will be released, im gonna make a full AMD pc. ( now i have my old Intel 4770k). Keep it like this. Im proud of you!

Been waiting for 7 years for an upgrade. Still on my Intel i5 2nd generation. All those intel new generations were not worth it. Thanks to AMD now i have proper upgrade. Zen 2 it is. Probably Ryzen 9 3800 😍😍😍
This is the game changer for sure.
This could be awesome for 3-2-1 replacements, with resources so high most environments could go 2-2-1 and just failover between boxes, that and using 1 proc per box could really save some money

Meltdown and spectre has already been mitigated from AMD cpus. The latest threat, Spoiler, does not affect AMD's cpus at all.

I was talking about processors. On graphic field Nvidia is far ahead of competitors...That's the fact...1080TI was a long time unbeatable graphic card and Nvidia keeps improving their graphics...That's the fact,you can't be best on both fields,that's impossible
@@alixxworkshop846 Not impossible, AMD just needs the same support from game developers as NVIDIA has. And they will get preference now that next gen consoles are being powered by AMD, this will translate in better performance in PC as well (they'll make sure of that).

Hey i have the radeon rx 480 and i had the update in my radeon settings it was update 3.16.19 and i installed and accepted all and i dont know if i did something but it started installing and on like 40% my monitorgot black screen and my computer turned off and then i started it i right clicked on my homescreen and normally there was radeon settings but noe it was just gone and i coulndt do anythibg and i saw that i was downloaded AMD software can somebody help
Sounds like a corrupted update. I had that happen once or twice. Instead of updating in Adrenalin, download the latest (non optional) driver from AMD website and install from that.

Honestly, as an AMD fan, just buy used dual Xeons on eBay. You have HP Proliant Gen8 or various Supermicro servers for $400, and usually two of those you buy are on-paar with one 73xx 74xx Epyc, with DDR3 ECC RAM making it even cheaper.
@@guestimator121 nice. I love how the AMD channel highlighted your reply to buy intel. Anyway, that's not a direction I would go, because supermicro boards likely have spy chips on them, and why revert to a machine that has less security with more ways to exploit spectre and meltdown?

LOL Nvidia is just now beating AMD in 1080p class GPUs, where the majority of the market is still playing. RX580 beat the 1050ti and 1060 hands down. Only just now is 1660 able to beat the RX 580/590 and that's overall performance, not FPS per dollar where AMD still beats Ngreedia hands down. Look at the benchmarks, not just Nvidia marketing lol.

There wen't any CPUs in the 60s. Semiconductors were just invented then and were used for much simpler devices like power stages, amplifiers and non-complicated logics .

When you say CPU everyone immediately think of a thing called 'microprocessor', that's what is considered a CPU nowdays. Navi is going to sell exactly the same as VEGA. Market share MIGHT increase 2-5% bc of people getting tired of Nvidia. But AMD will never get the casual market by not advertising on Tomshardware, PCgamersn, twitch, superbowl or talking sbout thier features outside thier youtube channel. Cuz frankly nobody knows u exist outside of CPUs. Till marketing is fixed AMD will never beat Nvidia unless they are ok with just surviving. Theyre the equilvant of Nintendo with the Wii and WiiU.
Ghost Geist I doubt that. If the product is solid the word will get out about their GPUs.
C-ray benchmark... ARGH. C-ray is code which was NEVER MEANT TO BE USED AS A BENCHMARK. It is terribly optimized in order to be a very simple code for educational purposes. It calculates everything, even color values with 64-bit doubles (where even 16-bit halfs would be enough), and takes zero advantage of any SIMD instruction sets. A reasonably optimized code would calculate the same thing about 10 times faster.
Performance in C-ray is totally meaningless in any real life situation.
