  • Honda CBR1000rrr Fireblade 2020 - First look review from Knox 😱
Eicma 2019 saw some incredible new motorcycle launches, and one of them was the all new 2020 Honda CBR1000rr-r Fireblade and Honda CBR1000rrr Fireblade SP! Although we didn’t get chance to film the CBR1000rrr at EICMA 2019, we did manage at Motorcycle Live 2019 last week and what a bike it is!
The Honda Fireblade is the iconic supersports bike and took the motorcycle world by storm back in the 1990’s, however, since the launch of the BMW S1000rr in 2009, Honda’s CBR Fireblade has fallen a little into obscurity, progressively lacking in enough power and spec to take on the competition. All this changes now with the all new CBR1000rr-r Fireblade 2020, with an incredible specification sheet… We’re talking about 216hp, 200kgish wet weight, semi active Ohlins suspension and Brembo Stylema callipers (on the SP model) and a full and MotoGP derived suite of electronics. The standard CBR1000rr-r will be fitted with Showa BP forks and Nissin brakes.
The styling on the Honda 2020 Fireblade is also something to celebrate with beautiful lines, fantastic integration of MotoGP winglets and a really nice exhaust system fitted as standard. In particular the CBR 1000rrr is stunning in the flesh in the black colourway, it really has to be seen to be appreciated.
Hope you enjoyed our video of Honda’s game changing CBR1000rrr for 2020, please like comment and subscribe.
    Thanks,
    Aaron and Mark
    Knox

Funny how people seem to forget the CBR1000RR got a make over in 2017. I own a 2019 CBR1000RR SP. The big difference between it and the new CBR is little more HP, Honda upgraded the IMU from a 5 axis to a 6 axis, and the new CBR put on 20 pounds. Now if a person is one of the very small % of riders that does lots of track days then yes the bump in HP, the re-design of the frame and swing arm you will notice and make some use of. For the vast majority of riders they will not make any use of the changes. I spend most my time riding the twisty roads in my area and on the street I can not even come close to using all the power of my CBR SP model that puts out just under 200HP. The real difference in the new model is the price. The standard model of the new CBR cost as much (list price) my CBR that is an SP with the electronic Ohlin suspension. To get the new SP it is going to cost a few thousand more. Now if I was interested in spending that much money I would just get an R1M. I would have rather seen Honda give the CBR600RR the revamp it has needed for some time.

Sadly they have the pricing wrong. £23,500 for the SP? £20,000 for the base model?? Are they totally unaware of how good the BMW S1000RR is for WAY less money.. What a mistake.

I don’t think it’s a real bike for most people- too expensive and powerful. Interested to see sales figures. I’d be willing to bet most Honda customers ride Adventure, touring trail or city commute. Owned and ridden bikes like that but there’s nowhere to ride them now except club racing or track days. Brilliant engineering wise but you can’t use their performance on the open road in Australia and get away with it.

@@allnighterist I'm a fan of a naked with supersport bloodlines, but even with a pipe the v4 motor still lacks the sound that i enjoy from an inline 4 or even aprilia rsv4. Being a naked I would guess the insurance would be cheaper . I would go with the streetfighter for its overall less price in msrp over cbr sp and insurance. But I enjoy the thrill of a full fairing bike and being in aggressive rider position. But tge streetfighter would be more inviting for wheelies and hooligan riding with its high bars and torque

@@enigma5192 jesus you are full of contradictions, you're a fan of inline 4 but you're looking into ducati bike? you are also worried about insurance and price and yet you are still looking into a brand new "ducati" bike and the new "fireblade" which will be both expensive, and yet you justify that even if you dont like the street fighter because you're not a fan of v4 sound, you'd still pick it up over the fireblade which you justify that you also like aggressive riding position and full fairing bike. lol.
just go buy a pre-owned naked japanese 1000cc naked and 600cc supesport bike, they'll be both inline 4.
