RIP Johnny Fean, a pure legend.
Real fans from Croatia are here now. RIP to Johnny ans hats off to Horslips!!!!
Before their time. Unappreciated ❤❤❤
Only discovered this now 😢 Banging song. Great band.
THE UNDISPUTED best version of King of the fairies for me .... brings back memories
Only other best in my opinion, is alan stivell's live version vid of "suite irelandaise" here on youtube. And im only saying that cuz The openning fiddle part was better. This version has so much more to give than most others attempts at the tune
Saw them in the US at Niagara University.
I only found them now and I live here for 13 years but yet I feel nostalgia listening to this
Out of tune
I just saw New Model Army do it as the intro to Vagabonds - that was pretty sweet.
Superb! I never tire of hearing this and I'm very proud of my Irish heritage 👍🇮🇪🙂
what a performance! you're sorely missed johnny fean, rest in peace
I saw them several times back in the 70’s. The Tain was one of my favorite albums and I still listen to Drive the Cold Winter away every Christmas.
Memories of Horslips in the National Stadium, great gigs and a great time to be young.
The mighty Horslips❤🍀💚
Talented musicians and pioneers at the time to bring some rock to trad Irish music
R.I.P Jonny...absolute belter of a tune 🎶
What a brilliant band Horslips were. One of the most underrated bands during this era of music. I was lucky enough to see them live.
f**king splendid, absolutely loved that ♥♥
These guys totally rock the roofs of Dublin ! Bloody brilliant!!! 😎👌✨🇮🇪
Lolol wheres the cables
Totally unreal. I was getting vertigo watching that performance
I have their lp's. Great under rated band.
Saw them at the Glasgow Apollo in the 70s. Blew the place apart. Phenomenal band!! 😳
The best of Celtic rock where did it go to 2021 no trace
Celtic rock at its best
Absolutely First class !!
Aah to be young and alive. Great stuff! Such talent ❤
CLASS ACT. VERY TALENTED MUSICIANS.
Love it
My dad introduced me to them as well as a young lad!
Same
Amazing band, Amazing music .
A dear friend of mine of Irish desent who passed away on the 8th of March a guitarist in an old very well known thrash band turned me onto Horse lips a few years ago . He knew I was a very big Jethro tull fan and over the course of our 25 year friend ship he never made mention of them and I'm shocked I had not found out about them early either...
They make my heart sing!
Ihr habt´s einfach drauf-weiter so!
What a great band very underrated
'Happy St. Patrick's Day!' to one and all
Wow! Amazing version! 👍
That bass is just so completely 1970s
Sweet nectar for my soul.
Nice sound from eire !
Really like this tune.

This is a very old Irish tune, rocked up by the brilliant Horslips.
Rest in peace, Johnny Fean.
Of all of them, Charles looks like he could have time travelled back There from 2022.
That's some unique bass Devlin is playing.
Looks like a John Birch custom.
Yeah....some guy custom built it for him
you mean unique looking as opposed to... playing ;-)
John birch , bass if I can recall
Damn, you guys are good.
They were so 70’s Dublin.
Could listen to that sound alday , fucking lovly 🍀😎🍀
Wow. Funny to see all the old landmarks...Charles O'Connor, Jim Lockhart, Barry Devlin (?) and oh yeah, the gasometer
My beautiful brother I lost the 3rd of January 2023
The Horslips Like The Beatles playing on Top of A Roof Great view of Dublin in The 1970s A lot of Old Dublin is Gone Just a Mass off Office Blocks.
Except that is the southside......no real Dublin there.....
@@nialas1 No REAL dubs left in Dublin at all now....
@@EireForTheIrish were all in the usa and Australia
No opertunities for us in Dublin so we left and our beautiful accents roam the America's now
Till we see the emerald isle again someday
I misread that as Office Bollocks. Same thing I guess. 👍
👑
Funkin quality
Put it all on the map . Blue prints of celtic rock
Black Irish ❤
Cool as emerald green
Up the Dubs.
You don't know irish music with such a childish statement your a ready brek bigot scot
@@montdaholydadwonkthe3617 Ah ha, yeah, whatever. I play Irish music you dribbler.
2:30: Least inspiring zoom in ever.
That's the back of the office building that is still there at 33 Mount Street Lower and yes it bleak as a wet Tuesday. This video is a great view over the grand canal docks and the gas works which look very different now
😄
2:10 I love this part
They did the roof gig long before U2? And why is Roger Federer playing the fiddle?
😂😅 you’re not wrong
Look like it was filmed on top of the old ESB offices on Fitzwilliam St.?
that's what it looks like to me too. I got sent here by a bloke who said the video was filmed on the Bank Of Ireland HQ, but it looks far more like the ESB building
all the blue screens out of Eire
Nice Tin Whistle.☘🇮🇪
i had the lp accordeon
Concertina? "Happy to Meet, Sorry to Part"
WHen the Rolling Stones had the design for Sticky FIngers, they pointed at that Horslips album as an example of what you could do with an album cover when the record label had refused to include the zipper!
VIKKET BAND
0:41 you can hold the bow like that???
is that a moog or what, that pale blue thing keyboard?
Sick
What's the brand of the bass?
Looks like a Rickenbacker
Serious !?
sounds like deep purple
May other bands have tried to be high and mighty but none could reach the heights of Horslips, U2 and the other 4 Celtic cousins yes the Beatles, all of Irish stock and that is a complete fact
abit blue screen ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
Predates blue screen. All on top of a roof in Dublin
The guitarist is the only one with no movement :D
Lugo=Dublin
THESE LADS GAVE HOPE JOY AND POWER 🔋TO IRISH YOUTH ALL IRELAND 🇮🇪 AFTER WHAT HAPPEND TO THE BEUTIFUL INNOCENT MIAMI SHOWBAND MURDERED BY LOYALIST BRITISH GOVERMENT DEATH SQUADS,, MUSICIANS
Grates on the nerves
bullshit rock is rock amd trad. is trad it .shows up our inferiority complex.
The least authentic rooftop performance ever. But brilliant instrumental.
