Just ordered a new bottle of this for the coming summer. If you go to the website and enter the batch # on the bottle they have a very detailed breakdown what goes into this whisky. One detail that I think really contributes to the floral fruit character is that they put a few French oak red wine casks in each batch. Cheers

@The Whiskey Dic- I had never heard of this particular scotch but after watching your review I picked up a bottle. I'm enjoying it now. It's very smooth and would be perfect for someone new to whiskey. This is one of the reasons I love this community! Thanks for the review and suggestion! Love your channel! Keep em coming.

Bought a bottle based on the recommendation of the Scotch SME at Binny's and was not optimistic about the results. He described it as the middle-ground between the costal Isle and the Highlands. The best of both worlds. I've got to say, totally surprised. Very easy on the pallet. I didn't think I was going to enjoy the absence of the "Pete" but totally did. As most Scotch drinkers to, I hate to use this word to describe a good Scotch, but incredibly "smooth", very enjoyable. Will be buying this one again. Thanks for your review. I found you looking for any review on this to see if I was just enjoy the alcoholic benefits a tad too much, but was pleasantly surprised at our natural warmth and demeanor. I subscribed and look forward to more of your videos. "Cheers"

Tried it tonight at a bar and I was surprised because for me it had some coastal/peaty characteristics, especially after swallowing each sip, even being labelled as Un-peated (maybe I’m not experienced enough in recognizing peat/smoke). Anyway, I liked it for sure! Strong and tasty but no real alcohol taste/burn even at 50%

Add a little water to it. Run it down to 35-40% alcohol and the nose and flavour changes. You should get the salty taste as more of an aftertaste after the bitterness comes out after the intitial sweetness/fruitiness. I was on Islay 2 years ago and spent 4 days on the Island. Averaged something like 34 drams a day, so by the end of each day, things got a little foggy. I like the peated offerings and the Octomore blew my mind on how something so peatly could have such a complex flavour. My wife , who is not a huge scotch drinker, appreciated the gin (Botanist) which is made at the same distillary. One of my favorite times was sitting out on the dunes at Machir Bay, sampling my driver's drams and enjoying the smells of the ocean mixing in with the spirits.

I completely agree with you on the nosing and tasting. I find it refreshing. I had to slow down on this one because it was running low and didn’t know when I would see another. It’s not mind blowing, but it’s just...good! One of those drams that when I go to my collection and don’t know what mood I’m in I pick this up and after first sip it makes me smile. I would say yes I will buy it again, probably a continuous stock for me, definitely to share.

The color was putting me off for a while, but finally just opened a bottle. Got it for whooping 35 EUR, while standard price here and everywhere else is 50-55. Amazing! Not anything particularly special, yet full bodied, pleasant, smooth and just a pleasure to drink. As one would expect from one of my top favorite distilleries Bruichladdich.
If I ever come across this bottle at the same price, definitely getting one. Or two 😅

Very cool stuff! I've had a 2 of the Bruichladdich's, one is the 09' Islay Barley *it was OK, clean and bright, grassy* and this Classic Laddie - I happened to catch it on the shelf at a store I frequent and I went straight to that can that stands out like no other - Man, I killed that bottle so fast and it was so flavorful. I went back for another and it's all gone and I was told their distributor discontinued carrying it. As soon as I see it on the shelf again I'll snag 1 or 2 without thinking about it.
I think I probably liked it a fuzz more than you did because this is one I'd like to always have on the shelf. I really enjoyed the fruity, floral body of it a lot. And hey, a non-peated Islay? pretty unique!
Now for blow my socks off, I just picked up a Glenlivet 18 batch reserve for the first time..... talk about "Rock me Amadeus!" .....

Same here damn I drink that stuff way too fast. And for 50euro ist just a wonderfull scotch. I always want this. I bought allready 9 different scotches this months. So yeah I buy probably 1 more bottle Friday and then wait until next month but I will defwnitly stock up on the laddie and on the barley that's like only 4 euros more and that's an 8 year old. I really like peated stuff, but I like the unpeated Islays a lot too. And classic laddie is just 👍

Classic Laddie is highly underrated. Yes the laddie 10 was better but not by much and this stuff is heavenly. When you are looking for a scotch that really focuses on the malt itself and not the peat or sherry cask influence this fits nicely.

Excited to finally get my hands on this. Naturally I had to revisit Bill's take while trying the first dram. Personally I really enjoy a "clean" drink and this hits that desire spot on. It's so light and refreshing that I would make it the new go to if it was available in Virginia. If it were a food thing then it'd be that Smartfood white cheddar popcorn. It's not a in your face flavor explosion, but you just can't have enough of it... maybe it's a good thing it's not here haha

Just having my second time trying this one. It's pleasant and the mouth feel is surely more powerful than you'd expect from the nose. However considering the price difference I'd probably pick Glenmorangie 10, which this one definitely reminds me of. You are mostly paying more for the higher alcohol content, the taste profile to me is quite similar. Both are great Scotches if you want your whisky sweet and friendly! I was more impressed with Bruichladdich's peated version, the Port Charlotte. That stuff is just amazing, and I'm not even a huge peat fan!
