    All these people complaining about Rich Evans rage quitting are making me laugh. The guy has some genres/games that he likes and some he doesn't. He's said literally hundreds of times he does not like multiplayer shooters. What surprises me is that he started out the stream more positive and optimistic than he usually is on games like this because of its contrasts to games like COD and Battlefield. How much of a surprise is it really that he got hit with the frustration he initially feared going in? He even said in the review that the game is not for him, but he could see a lot of people enjoying it.

    • @UpUpBobby
      @UpUpBobby 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Video games are a voluntary activity. Would you rather spend time doing something you actually like or wasting time getting good at something you don't? Dude gave it a fair shot. Watch the review, moron. He says it's just not for him but he could see other people having fun.

    Man, that was so cool seeing Rich discover this genre. I've only ever really played Fortnite, but it was fun discovering and telling people about the battle royale. Glad they got this on stream

    The learning curve and fun of this game is having those immense odds stacked against you and doing absolutely everything to combat them. There HAS to be a willingness for failure when you are a new player. I could prattle on forever about the breakdown of mechanics but at the end of the day most people's gripes with the game is "I ran for a long time a died right away". There is a very deliberately built in language and flow of every match that takes time to understand before you can be the one getting the drop on your enemies or making the most of your crappy starter gear to kill someone and snag their sweet sweet loot.
    I can't say this game is for everyone since it is slow paced and the flavor of combat might not satisfy some, but it is a good and exciting product when you learn the meta. All of this is multiplied when playing with friends. It truly becomes a tense, hilarious, and sometimes bonding experience to keep you and your buddies alive to the end against all odds.
    Coming into this game impatiently and being quick to dismiss core mechanics is immediately killing any potential to see the actual appeal to PUBG.

      Kinky Sketch It's a shame well written comments like this recieve less attention than the shit some people who probably have never even played it are spewing.

    • @K_Sketch
      @K_Sketch 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks, I think some people just get excited to put a game down if they don't like it and just call it "bad". There are certainly bad games in the world but some games just don't appeal to certain people. PUBG has qualities that I could see Pre-Rec enjoying, but it is also a game that plays against a lot of their preferences as gamers. I also think if they played as a Duo they'd have more fun and quickly see the appeal. At the end of the day the game averages about 300k in-game players, so PUBG is reaching some kind of audience.

    58:37 - it's not clear what Jack said, but Rich must be blind. It's no Tums Festival 2.

  • @lostcause78
    @lostcause78 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I feel like between Jack giving rather pointless advice and Rich trying to pick apart what makes the game most efficient - they missed the most important of all: Having fun.
    This game is great to play with a friend and staying put in 1 spot isn't really the optimal strategy anyway,

  • @iamnorwegian
    @iamnorwegian 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    58:35 Sounds to me like Jack said "out there", even though it went by a bit quick, but it definitely wasn't "up there". Rich never even pointed the camera at the roof, so what the hell was he thinking Jack had seen?

    this isnt a great game to stream and talk about, but just an example here guys... u walk into this room, and its several seconds before you check to your left. this is how a lot of these lazy deaths happen.
    positioning is everything, both checking enemy positions and having the best position yourself. thats in most shooters or most conflict based games especially pvp. single player games let u get away with a lot but if u really think about it in real life you would be sure to check the corner of the room when you walked in.

    I've seen a whole new side of Rich Evans watching these streams. He's so judgemental and cranky. He does not like being the worst player in the room.

    • @ManDuderGuy
      @ManDuderGuy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it's more that he prefers to relax when gaming, like doing some kinda single player thing or what have you. The fast/competitive stuff just isn't his bag; nor Jack's for that matter.
      They'd never really go in for Calladoody or that kind of thing.

    If you want realistic experience of a modern war check out Insurgency. Similar concept but its an actual game and not a playable tech demo

      Insurgency doesn't bode too well as a modern war experience compared to PR, Rising Storm 1 & 2, Red Orchestra, Squad and ARMA 3. It's a fun shooter but it gets repetitive after 5 hours.

    If you guys do this again remember that almost everyone is already a coward so we don't need practice hiding. Stare at that plane's ass and jump with everybody else. Hold shift to steady you're breathing and get some practice killing. Strategy in this game is useless if you can't kill anyone. Glhf.
    Worst that can happen is you start over a minute or so later.

    Instead of making it restricted to a constantly shrinking circle they should make it so you cant be in large areas of the map randomly because they will be artillery striked or some stuff. that would work better that circle thing sucks

    First thing rich says is, "More experienced players will be better, therefore it's unfair." I love RLM, but come on. Rich shouldn't be a game reviewer.

    • @masonthompson513
      @masonthompson513 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +avor yeda He's still clearly creating a judgmental opinion before playing a game he plans to review. A reviewer should NEVER do this. If you watch their full review, you'll see that Rich is extremely focused on the negatives that he was afraid of before even playing the game. It affected his experience, and it frustrates me that he can be so close-minded. Jack tries to steer him to neutral ground, but it clearly didn't work.

    • @masonthompson513
      @masonthompson513 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +shibbybypass I don't have a problem with their opinions, I have a problem with how they formed them. Rich went into the game with a negative attitude. I've been a fan of RLM for almost 6 years, and they're the reason I went to film school. I've always appreciated their non-biased criticisms on films. That being said, I don't think they're invulnerable to criticism as well. I genuinely hope they read comments, and that they use people's criticism to improve their channel. Telling people to calm down for giving their opinion is a direct contradiction of what you just said.

    • @ge2719
      @ge2719 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      rich decides to dislike things before knowing anything about it. yes this is stupid and makes him a bad reviewer, and i'd say a pretty closed minded and obnoxious gamer, welcome to pre rec.

      @TheWolfSaidPoofy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wait a minute, aren't you that one guy who got triggered so badly as to actually get in an argument with Rich a while back? Hello hi :D !

    • @masonthompson513
      @masonthompson513 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +avor yeda yes, they did have expectations about these movies. However, they didn't stick to these expectations when watching the movies and formed their own opinions, spending the whole videos defending those opinions in detail. They liked m night shyamalans The Visit. They liked Wonder Woman. They didn't like Rogue One, and explained why in a way that makes sense (even though I had a different opinion about the movie, I enjoyed the review). On Pre rec, they usually spend 40 minutes talking about a couple of negatives (alien isolation being the most frustrating), while rarely talking about the actual mechanics that make a game, like level design, AI, and atmosphere (all things that Alien Isolation excelled in, but they spent most of the time talking about door opening and how they don't find the xenomorph scary). They are qualified to talk about film, because they studied film. Video games are a very different medium, and they don't seem qualified to talk about them.

    Its hard for new inexperienced players to get into this game at the moment. You will be turned off by how everyone is used to the game mechanics etc. It also doesnt help if you dont know the basic controls whilst playing the game. Playing without headphones is a disadvantage. You need to hear where your enemies are. Talking over each other wont help. The setup you guys were using was only putting you to a much greater disadvantage than you already had. Thus making the game seem more punishing and unfair. Its also still in Beta form so things will change by the time it fully comes out.

      Depends on where you choose to drop, there are more than several points of interest where many players parachute, so it's pretty much firefight and raid to the safezone the entire match. The game got me convinced when i saw other, more competent players stream.

    • @Thenowhereman42
      @Thenowhereman42 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's more fun to spawn in a high risk/reward area where lots of people go because there's good shit there. Then you usually get to have a fun firefight, die, and start again. Or if you win you'll be strong because you'll have good gear, lots of medicals, a car, etc. Going somewhere low key, finding one good gun, and camping in a bush is a viable strategy though. A lot of Rich's criticisms are valid. Most of the games I've won or placed high in are ones where I don't see anyone the whole game and then happen to see the other guy before he sees me when there's
