Excellent video! I can't recommend taking notes enough in your effort to get better at the game. Especially in testing games it's so useful to write down what felt good, and what felt bad, or any points that you think you could have played better. Sometimes I'll even take a picture of a specific hand if I'm not sure about the correct line, and ask other people what they would do in that situation later. Not only that, I find that even just the act of deciding to write things down makes you more mindful about your testing. You start thinking about things that you might *want* to write down or ask someone else about later, and just the act of thinking that way instead of just 'how do I win this game' makes testing feel infinitely more productive and helps lessons stick with you so much better.
As one's collection gets bigger (read: as you spend more money on boxes/cases), I find it helpful to first sort into Sets (one box for Rosetta, one box for Mistveil, one for Heavy, etc), and then once there are cards you know you're going to sleeve up and play with in a given deck, having a "Build box" for playables. There's always going to be some amount of "draft chaff" type cards (think Harvest Season, Trip the Light Fantastic, Vantage Point, etc) that you don't want to outright just throw away, but you don't really want it in the box of cards you're usually building decks from (your CnCs, EStrikes, Warmongers, Codex of Frailties, Sinks, Spinals, Zero to Sixties, etc). The boxes containing sets should become "infrequently accessed storage" where as the build box becomes "high frequency accessed storage".
The Budget aspect is a huge one that I had to learn this year. Previous to learning that, I would spend way too much money to build a deck and only end up playing it 2-3 times before realizing that it wasn't for me. I learned play patterns and gained good information on how the decks expect to function, but I really didn't need to spend as much money as I did.
@@gunternine1130 Yep that one’s probably the most important to me, and is also going to be a difficult follow through - but it’s such a waste to buy up expensive cards when you can learn the same skills without spending the money 🥲🥲
“Just to play Uzuri at the pro quest” legit me laughing. Only buying cards for 1 class and refusing to buy expensive cards for a new class until I’ve played a lot of games on Talishar has helped a lot.
Great video and resolutions! In addition to taking notes after games, I've found note-taking to be especially helpful after drafts to see where my seat was in relation to the other players.
I remember being recommended your first or second video, and I can tell that you've really put time and effort in to the overall quality of the videos you're making. I just wanted to say that I've noticed the improvement and to offer encouragement! Keep it up and I can't wait to see where this channel takes you!
@@WantEpicMusic I have definitely learnt a lot more about editing, and also upgraded my mic - it makes me so happy to hear that my small improvements are making a difference 🥹 thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment!
This was a fantastic video. I’m glad the algorithm showed me your content. I wish you all the best with your resolutions!! Can’t wait to continue to support your channel.
I have my sorted collection in 3 rows of one of those big boxes. The 4th row is the unsorted cards I've picked up since my last sort. I should really get around to that.

I like how your resolutions are actions instead of aspirational statements. A lot of people just state the goal without mentioning the steps.

@TeaAndTCG I'm just a big FaB nerd same as everyone else. I just love supporting our game and our wonderful creators. ❤️
OH yeah. We all gotta sort our cards. No matter what game we play, that fact unites us all.

Another banger video, as always. Thank you for all your work on this!

Easy listening!
Next year I would like to go to a national event at least to try my luck and also sort my collection too...
