The idenity of the killer who shot Batman's parents sometimes changes, however most often the answer is a crook by the name of Joe Chill, the story of Batman finding him has been told many different times in many different ways, with the very first being Batman Issue 47 from the 40's, which was expanded on in Detective Comics Issue 235 by showing us that Joe was hired to do it. Since then there's been other tales about Batman finally meeting up with Chill for the first time, such as Batman Year 2, Batman Adventures (2003) Issue 17, Batman Issue 673, and in The 52's Batman: The Dark Knight Issue 0.
One of my favourite batman comics. Never seen the movie looks good! The batman movie was incredible, you can see the inspiration from this incredible comic. The long Halloween is also breathtaking. Nolan’s trilogy would be an incredible reaction series.

Batman Year One has to be one of my favourite Batman comics as the premise is so simple, yet explores our primary characters of Bruce and Gordon so well. I am so glad you're also checking out the animated DC films and shows as their animated content is perhaps DC at their absolute best and explores their massive roster of characters and stories so well. I also checked out your reaction to Superman's The Animated Series. I would highly recommend checking out the rest of the series as it's probably one the best representations of Superman media we've seen. I don't know how HBO Max divides seasons(it's not available in my country) but some STAS episodes post Little Girl Lost starts to have crossovers with some BTAS episodes post Holiday Knights. Batman mask of the phantasm is my favorite batman movie. You should be able to watch after finishing season 1 of the animated series. Im not going to mention anything about the movie because the experience is 10x better going in blind

I believe Batman embodies a little of every one of his villains like clay face for example Batman/Bruce is also one hell of an actor as u can see he uses disguises and stuff riddler is smart like Batman bane brute strength scarecrow embodies the fear Batman presents and so on some Might even say Batman is as crazy as the villains he fights to an extent u can see a little of him and n all of them
This is indeed a masterpiece of an animated comic adaptation. They sorta went with a look like Year One's artist David Mazzucchelli. Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli team up on another comic series that you'llwyant to read- Daredevil: Born Again. Just don't read it until you've seen season three of the Daredevil series, because there's a few story surprises you won't want spoiled. My suggestion to you for a great animated series is Justice League: Gods And Monsters.
super fun reaction, year one is always going to lose something for me without that incredible mazzucchelli/lewis art but i love how faithful they stayed to the comic. can't wait until you get to mask of the phantasm. also sadly the gcpd dropping the bomb on the tenement was a direct reference by miller to the move bombing in philadelphia where the cops in philly dropped a bomb a house in a residential neighborhood, which happened only a year before he wrote year one. as bad the cops are now, they were just as off the leash in the reagan years, it just took stuff like a bombing to make the national news.
Note-perfect rendition of Year One, perhaps even improving it by shortening the internal narrations a bit. Neat how Brendan and Loeb are in this one while you're fighting Brendan and his corrupt killer cops in Arkham Origins. People have already given you tons of Bat-material to digest, but one lesser-known one I strongly recommend trying is Gotham Knight (no relation to the upcoming game). Arkham City actually has a tape for Catwoman where Hugo Strange is able to force her cooperation by threatening Holly's life, so she is canon in the Arkham-verse too.
Scarecrow is Batman's parallel in tactics, which would make him by the general definition, Batman's nemesis. However, The Joker is Batman's polar opposite which makes him the more intriguing character and lead to him being Batman's nemesis
The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1&2 are the sequels to Batman: Year One! Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is a great complimentary film to the animated series. Highly recommend. It's standalone so you don't need to watch the entire animated series first.

If you watch the long haloween make sure to check the end of the credits on Part 1. There should be a short scene that adds a little bit of context heading in to part 2.
I think each of batman's big villain's often represent something about Bruce/Batman Scarecrow, both use fear as a tool and overcame there fears then took the identity of them (scarecrows and bats) Mr freeze, cant get over the death of someone and use that to torture themselves Two-face, the duel life of batman and Bruce and the dark side of bruce The joker, both had one bad day (though most batman villain's did as well) and joker dove into the madness, Bruce stands on the edge not willing to jump (so joker is trying to give him the push) I think those are the ones that fit into almost all batman stories but there are some others I have seen used sometimes like clayface is Bruce wanting to be more then human, Ra's Al Ghul and Poison ivy are the extremists potential batman has and the worry that Gotham is past saving, The penguin shares the wealth and anger I think all of batman's rouges gallery are a reflection of him and what he could have been or could be

Welp now it's time for you go down the rabbit hole, youtuber krystalogy has been doing the same with pretty much all the DC Animated content, IMO all the animated films and tv shows stand above most of the live action, there are a few movies people like to point at as less than great but none the less you're on the journey now, I'm telling ya, DC has some the most interesting stories and not just the regulars either (ie batman, superman, and wonder woman) all of it is pretty great.
There's one comic book I would love to see in an animation movie is Batman the Man Who Laugh where Batman first encounter the Jokerci would like to see that in animation movie. Also I would love to see No Man Land but until then I'll listen to the Audio Drama that out there. Which I highly recommend listening to when you have the chance.
I’m hella late but I recommend Under the Red Hood. It’s not a happy movie but it might still be my favorite DC animated movie. And it’s the definitive story for Red Hood, so it’s a solid watch.
You absolutely have to watch Batman The Long Halloween pt1 and pt2 then watch Batman The Dark Knight Returns pt1 and pt2. They are basically the continuation of this Batman.
Wanna see more great Batman movies? Check out Under The Red Hood, the first Tim Burton Batman movie, The Long Halloween Part 1 and Part 2, and Mask of the Phantasm. That new The Batman movie is also pretty sweet. Or don't watch them, I'm not the boss of you.
Sadly, the part where Flass beats down Stevie, unprovoked, and confiscates his switchblade comb, always feels relevant. That, too, is pulled straight out of the comics, from 1986. I love how true this adaptation is to the source. Same with Dark Knight Returns. I really wish the same approach had been taken with Killing Joke. The DC Universe animated movies were great, to a point, but they've been disappointing me for years now with pointless changes to the source material that only insult the characters.
If I were you I'll watch fash point, then after that dive into justice league war, then all the movies after that. Those are really good DC movies, it's a long list of movies to type

I recommend Batman Under the Red Hood and Justice League Flashpoint Paradox (Only if you haven't watched them yet)

Sadly, the part where Flass beats down Stevie, unprovoked, and confiscates his switchblade comb, always feels relevant. That, too, is pulled straight out of the comics, from 1986. I love how true this adaptation is to the source. Same with Dark Knight Returns. I really wish the same approach had been taken with Killing Joke. The DC Universe animated movies were great, to a point, but they've been disappointing me for years now with pointless changes to the source material that only insult the characters.
Batman: the dark knight returns is a must but I would recommend you get more familiar with dc characters and history
Batman Beyond return of the joker and batman: Mask of the phantoms. Both great films which need to be made into live action
Also since you’re getting into Superman, you should read All Star Superman and then watch the animated movie
If I were you I'll watch fash point, then after that dive into justice league war, then all the movies after that. Those are really good DC movies, it's a long list of movies to type
