Your content is dope!!! and your presentation delivery vocal is smooth. You have a unique calming effect that is not rushed. Excellent rhythm and temple.
Such a wonderful and informative and enjoyable watch Miss Meredith! Please do a video on how you programmed your Stream Deck. I have the same one and only know how to add a “Open” function. 😩 You absolutely hit the nail on the head when you mentioned fussing around with what you have to do if you don’t record directly into the computer. Which is what I’m doing! 😫😫 I need to get my “YouTubicle” set up properly, I know it’s gonna take more effort to truly “set it and forget it,” but I’m very close. Thanks to you! I plan on using your guide to help me reach the finish line. 💜😎💜
Love this video to streamline my TH-cam creation process. One challenge. I have a 24" iMac with the M1 chip. It does not have a port for the Cam Link. What's the alternative? Thanks.
Hey, thank you for the guidance. I set everything up accordingly and it works quite well, except for two things: I have a major lag in descript between the audio and the video (video lagging behind) and I feel like Descript is messing with the audio quality (distorted audio). Two questions: Have you heard of the lagging problem from others? And do you switch off all the audio settings in Descript for the recording or fo you keep it on the default settings? I am really bummed out that i got rhis expensive mic and I still have to fix the audio in Audacity. 😢 Thank you for any answers or pointers 😊
Awesome!! I do sometimes experience lag in descript. It is a real pain. When it happens, I adjust it the best I can. I posted a video about how to adjust the out of sync audio. But reach out to descript support because they may be able to give you some guidance there. I turn off Studio Sound in descript. Unless you have a lot of background noise, studio sound just makes my audio sound distorted and maybe that’s what’s happening for you? I do let descript adjust the volume automatically though. Hope that helps!
@@meredithmarsh Wow, thank you soooo much for answering so quickly ❤️! Okay, I will contact Descript to see if I can fine-tune something and watch your video. Worst case is that I have to detach the audio and sync it manually. I did find out what (mainly) went wrong with the the audio: I accidentally changed the gain to 42. 🫡😅 Also, it turned out that my monitor headphones habe the wrong that's why I didn't hear that it was way too loud. I will do test recordings with and without the audio leveling in Descript and see if that makes any difference. Audio IS hard! Thanks again for your help! 🫶
I have to use my Samsung 23 plus as a camera for now. I have mics and all the other stuff but I want to wait to get a great camera. "You my girl Blue!" Always a pleasure.
Dear lovely lady, thank you for you informative video (so professional and detailed). You really provide some insights that no other content creators mention. Also, I really like your presentation style. Appreciated and subscribed!
The M6 mk2 is a great camera! But I hate the flip UP screen vs flip OUT screen. It gets in the way of any mics mounted in the hot shoe. I sold mine last year.
Hello Meredith. Great content as always.❤ You said that you record your videos to your computer so that you won’t have to sync audio and video later. I use the mark ll for video and the rodecaster pro11 for audio. How would I record to the computer to not have to sync both of those later? Thanks
You would need to record into a software where you can select your camera for video and the rodecaster for audio I would guess. I don’t have a rodecaster so I’m not sure. Try it!
Two quick questions: Do I need the dummy battery to use the Cam Link - or for any other reason aside from preventing the battery from running out in the middle of recording. And… I have a Canon Rebel 7 camera. Does the lens you recommend work with this camera? Thank you for your awesome videos! ❤
You don’t need the dummy battery for the camlink to work, you’re right - it’s just so you don’t run your battery down while recording! The lens I recommend won’t work it’s the rebel. It’s only for M-series canons.
I have the Hyperx QuadCast S is that okay? everyone always says Rhode Shure or Audio Technica, but I can't get any seed money to start my podcast, my equipment has been expensive 😕 I don't have a mixer thing and I can't afford one I don't know what to do I spent a lot on my setup and I am 3/4 of the way there which is quite frustrating
Meredith, Noooooooo! I was in the process of buying the Mark II because I have had Mark I for about 5 yrs and I think it was time for an upgrade. Now Im trying to see which camera I should invest in now haha. It sucks they're discountining it :(
@@meredithmarsh I plan on using it as a talking head camera for my video content the R10 is the other camera you talked about. Between the R10 and R50 is what I'm thinking now. You recommend the R10. I got the elgato cam link through your link. Thank you
@@RJMartinez or @meredithmarsh_vidpromom, since the R10 is not Elgato’s camlink compatibility list, can you confirm that the Camlink 4k works with the R10?
Why would I have an unbiased camera list? I’m not a journalist and this channel is not a news organization. I’m a consumer of these things so I give my opinion based on my experience.

I just love seeing how to setup a recording space. I also love how they evolve over time. I’m a big fan of being set up and ready to record.

Hi Meredith. This was very useful and onformative. Been setting up and tearing down for each recording. Going to build my Youtubicle lol. Thanks!

This was amazing. Thank you. I’ll be implementing these tips
Would love to see a vid on how to use the stream deck for sound effects. Thank you for this video it was just what I needed!

You might need to get a hub or something to connect more stuff :-)

I'm honestly surprised you did not recommend the Canon M6 Mark II. I use it for my TH-cam channel and it works very well.

Thank you this is super helpful! Is there an easy way to auto-focus a Canon DSLR if I'm filming myself?
A lot of canon cameras have auto focus that detects your face. Best thing to do is google it for your model or check the manual 😜
Such a great value video! Thank you
You Rock thanks for taking the time to do what you do!!
🙏 thanks for watching!
Meredith, can you use the direct recording into a computer using a cam-link when using a Sony HC X-2000 Camcorder to record instead of a camera?
I’m not sure. Does it have a micro-hdmi output on it?
Do you use manual or auto mode when recording?
Thank you 🙏

Have you had any issues with the M1-M3 line of Mac laptops with Cam Link? I’ve been having all kinds of issues :/
No, I haven’t. I have had M1 and M2 working fine.
