The second part they had filled with clips from the anime worked really genuine though
was that the reason? I thought they did as to not spoil some future stuff. as the only scenes missing were the ones Bea was part of the group (outside of the hotspring shot at the start)
I didn’t realize how much I needed a massive choreographed dance number with zombies in the background until now. Bea on the bus jamming out is the cutest thing ever.

Wait no you got it wrong, it's not a OnePiece reference at all. It's a Maguro Taniguchi reference (Vocalist of this very song, member of Kana-Boon, same band of Naruto Shiruetto OP). He is dressed up as him with a wig of his fluffy hair and distinctive red jacket.
@@pulisichhh It's kind of difficult to confirm both cases actually. Maybe it was even a double reference. Because in the scene it very much appears to be a hat, and I've never seen Maguro Taniguchi dressed like that, or wearing a similar wig. Just like I've never seen Luffy wear a jacket like that too. Anyway, while there is no confirmation, it's up to what pleases the eye. But I don't deny the possibility that that's really what you said.
What really made me believe in the possibility is that the anime itself features several classic references to other works, such as the scene with the electrifying punch that Akira gave the shark, undeniably similar to Boku no Hero.

I like how both the animation and the post-apocalyptic world in Zom 100 are bright and filled with vivid colors. Kinda reminds me of Sunset Overdrive🤔

I always liked how when zombies bleed they bleed bright saturated colours but when actual people die or bleed it's proper red blood. Makes it have more impact

as someone who is just generally impatient and binged the show in one sitting, i somehow didnt skip the opening for this series
For an anime based on the thought "before I die" it actually inspires you to live to the fullest. I mean, they're LITERALLY dancing next to graffiti saying Memento Mori. (Remember you will die)

They do try to find a cure after the village arc. That's Akira's promise to his father and is included in his bucket list.
It's bittersweet but I really appreciate this main message,the way the main cast finally tried to live their life to the fullest now without being shackled to the flow of society and its expectations.

I love how Shizuka (even tho she acts like she doesn't care) slowly gets into it (even if was dragged into the dancing circle). The fact she gets the "final part" in the big dancing number is just icing on the cake that she is warming up to them all.

In a genre so commonly desaturated in color and focused on the loss of meaning (institutions, relationships, moral values, etc.),
I appreciate that Zom 100 stages its response the way it does, literally bringing color to the screen.
The fact he ticks off a bucket list in order to live more is a beautiful recontextualization. I'm genuinely proud of the mangaka and the staff working on this show.

It's just genre and media literacy. To put it simply, art isn't made in a vacuum. It can and does exist as an expression of the artist and the times. Interesting examples would be the popularity of gangster films during The Great Depression, Nuclear anxiety stories during the Cold war, even super hero films in reaction to 9/11 in America.
This is a very common part of academic discussion. It's also an observation of trends by genre critics. I highly recommend Intro to Film Criticism by Tim Bywater and Thomas Sobchack if this interests you.
Seriously, it's absolutely amazing how Zom 100 has defied the usual tropes and worldview of the genre.

I can appreciate the choice of scenes to sync with the opening for the first episode (and others up to episode 8). But episode 9 onwards just feels so much more complete and elevated to the next level with the choreography!

I feel like the OP only being changed to the current one as the crew has finally been fully assembled makes a lot of sense. Before all 4 of our MCs got together the OP would have felt off and the personalities shown in the OP might have ruined the expectations for the character in the actual show, but because they waited until everyone was introduced and their journey together has truelly gegone, it feels so much better watching them goof around in the OP.

This anime could've been one of the biggest this season if it wasn't for the release schedule which puts it under many people's radar or drop-list. In a few years, this anime will be buried under everything else that has been released and will probably be a "hidden gem" anime unfortunately.

@@alchemistofsteel8099season one isn’t over. It’s on a indefinite hiatus. Scheduling issues and being a brand new production company have led to some problems. A few episodes release dates were pushed back a week so now they ran out of time during their expected tv time slot for the summer season as the fall season is now starting.
So that's why I have been left they are possibly on hiatus

This anime is ridiculously fun and just a spectacle for the eyes and ears. This opening helps with coping with the indefinite hiatus of the show. I so so SO hope that this anime gets continued eventually and that they have the time to produce the show without becoming an example of what the show is actively criticising.

Completely underrated anime, deserves way more love than it got
This is the most fun anime to come out in a while and I love it. Sucks for the production issues but still never expected a fun zombie anime.
Zombieland Saga is also a fun anime you might want to check out. It's a mash up of idol and zombie anime with a lot of comedy and heart. Sounds weird, and it is, but personally I liked it.
