I reused the thick outer sheath and remelted and polished the large plug connector, so mine looks original ( on a 93 W140 s500 ) the thing i did have problems with is removing that clip from the throttle body, had to cut slot either side to get it out can't remember how i fixed it back in after refurbing those complicated throttle body clutches, potentiometer and all the wiring , I was 50/50 wondering if it would ever work again i don't use cruise control, when driving as a rule but when i tried it out thoroughly, it works absolutely perfectly i can adjust by 1mph increments up and down (checking speed with GPS ) and it holds exact speed much to my surprise rebuilt all 3 looms 9 years ago, about 100,000 miles ago, and it still drives perfectly. just noticed, it was 9 years ago as I remember watching your bad potentiometer videos pt1 and pt2 which are 9 years old now, repairing a similar throttle body.
It's great that you got your throttle repaired. 93 models (94 in USA) had bad wiring inside throttles along with other wiring. I don't know which video you're referring to (I have ove 2500 public videos, and more private ones) but potentiometer wear can happen and sometimes it sets the ASR fault. I did repair a few potentiometer problems because of limp mode.
@@vsandvs 92 to 95 and even some 96 had bad wiring looms, i've made several looms for other people since, but would not want to rebuild another throttle body with captive loom, unless it was for one of my own cars, or they were paying me a large amount of money.
