    💜Anytime I lend anyone money I’m make sure I’m ok with possibly never getting it back. I only lend small amount never large sums of money. I only do it with people I trust💜

      Yeah if it was a large amount I’d have to think a little longer on it ! I agree we can’t just lend out money to anyone lol

    Family members used to come to my parents for money but they stopped lending money long ago when I talked to them about saying NO. They never got the money back so I had to step in and talk to them about it, esp since we have lots of bills to pay.
    They've lent lots out and our family members would talk behind our backs despite the help. Family members like aunts, uncles, and even my grandma stopped talking to us because of it but I couldn't care less. They live in Mexico so I don't expect them to understand. Mexican families always see their US relatives as a bank!
    Great video btw!! First video of yours I see! Also I fell in love with those binders!! omg 😩💗💗

    Love the nails girly! I usually let people borrow as long as it doesn’t become a habit. It’s hard out here. I live in cali and everyone is struggling so I like to help family if I can. I’m blessed to have food on the table.

    Also thank goodness for that warranty 😅 yikes.

    My family and friends rarely, if ever, ask for money or anything. If they did, I'd know they REALLY needed it and I'd give all I possibly could to help, no strings attached. Family (including friends who are family) comes first. They mean the world to me and I always want to make sure they're safe, comfortable, and taken care of.

    My husband’s family lives in Mexico and they’re constantly asking him for money, at first I was okay with it but it got to a point where they were just seeing him as a bank. I had to put a stop to it ☝🏼 lol

    • @SONYARenee
      @SONYARenee ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I’m going to do the challenges, but do not know, if I want to put it on my TH-cam channel. My husband and I have helped family and friends for years. We don’t ask for it back, but situations come up where the person needs something else, and I’m like it’s getting to be too much. Family/Friends (some) believe if you saving or have money in the bank they can ask and ask. Give you a sob story, etc. You’ll be broke and they will be sobbing and asking the next person. People have to learn and say no, and I have.

    I'm the same as you. I will give my family what they need as long as I can. I also don't except to get it back. The biggest amount was when I was single and had no real bills. I was saving a lot and gave my sister and brother in law $20,000 toward their down payment on their house. The did pay it back about 15 years later.

    My family never asks me for money because either they’re never in a situation where they need or because I’m the only one with kids, they probably figure not to ask me. 😂 My partner’s family will ask for money if they need it. Sometimes you don’t want to lend money to people who aren’t managing their money well because it feels like we’re enabling them, but if they lend it out because we hate to see them in a bind, we don’t expect it back.

  • @QuelBudgetz87
    @QuelBudgetz87 ปีที่แล้ว

    That’s how I figure out helping family, if I can go without it absolutely, if I’m going to need it, like part of a bill or whatever then I’ll do a lower amount. Typically my lil bro asks or my mom, and it’s never a crazy amount, the most was like $150, and absolutely, for me I’ll figure it out.I pay all my bills as soon as I get paid, and anything extra has just been extra coffee or tumbler money lol

    “If I was an envelope, this would be me” 😂😂 loving the nails! $420 😂 snoop 💀 I would lend money to family in a heartbeat…. Now friends….I would have to know you are trustworthy, I guess. I’m in that situation now. I lent a friend $150. Only because anytime we go out she’s on it with paying me back without me having to ask. But this time around it took a very long time to get $100 back. I’ve given up on the $50 at this point….but I did lend the money with the mindset that there’s chance I wouldn’t get it back 🤷‍♀️ I also couldn’t lie and say I didn’t have it because home girl watches my TH-cam videos 💀
    Yess! Share that bookstigram! Been wanting to get into reading again

    • @SONYARenee
      @SONYARenee ปีที่แล้ว

      This is my concern. I’m two months in with TH-cam and doing this challenge at the end of the month. People see you saving money, but not realizing your saving to go somewhere, etc. Then they will say something about what they need to pay but they know you have it because they see you doing the savings challenge lol. Another reason they’ll say she doesn't need it is because they know my husband and I sold a house we built in 2020 in May to pcs to Japan. My first mistake yrs ago was telling family and friends how much we saved the first time in Japan, and went BROKE. No one's fault but mine. I had some family ask about how much we got for our house, (we did help the family with a small amt of money) but I did not tell how much we banked. Lesson learned💰.

    How do I feel about family members asking for money? I hate it and never again will I help any of them.
    I was always the type to help whenever anyone needed it. A place to crash, I have a spare room. Need a ride, I’ll pick them up. They’re hungry, I’ll feed them. Short on money for bills or gas, I’d give it to them. Etc.
    But all those people who would constantly hit me up for money, or rides, or a place to stay (sometime for months rent free), all showed how I meant next to nothing to them when my abusive husband tried to kill me and my kids twice, left me and my girls (one of which wasn’t even 1 yet) with absolutely no money because he emptied my bank account, and had us sleeping in a car for WEEKS! We couldn’t even get into a shelter. And when he found out I found someone we could stay with in another state, he did something to my car that caused the engine to blow up almost making me lose control and drive us all right off the cliff we were driving on (second time he tried to kill us). All those “family” members who I was always there for, ignored all my calls, left us stranded in the middle of nowhere, wouldn’t even pick us up when we were less than an hours drive away and I was going to pay for gas, nothing. But still to this day (it’s been a year I’m still living with a friend) don’t ever check up on us, or ask if we need anything, they just hit me up to ask for money and act like we don’t exist otherwise.
    I learned that day I don’t have “family”, I have users. They showed me blood only makes you related, loyalty makes you family, and they had absolutely none; as they still show more love and support to my husband who refuses to give me a divorce and still threatens my kids and I on occasion.

    I would rather give them the money and if I get it back fine. I don't like it when they say I will give it back too you but they never do. Hubby has a childhood friend that lives a few states away he's having a hard time he's alone trying to stop drinking. Well hubby offered to send him his old playstation 4. We mailed it to him. Cost us 78.00 and the guy offered to pay shippihg charge so we said ok but still no money from him. It's fine but don't offer if you can't do it. One good thing about a kindle or iPad with the Kindle app is if you need a book in the middle of the night you can just download one.

    I lend out money, but I always ask for it back from family members. I have seen my parents get abused financially a lot by family and then get back stabbed, and it resulted in us struggling because of their mistakes. If it's friends, I lend it out because the people I keep in my circle are very tight, and we have built a lot of trust over the years. I always try to pay back ASAP, my friends, because I don't want it to be a habit.

    For me I’m ok with helping people when it comes to money. Family or not. But they need to be someone trust worthy. And deserve that help honestly. My husband and I have gone through it enough with his sister. So I say this from personal experience. Also when I say trust worthy. It’s not about paying me back. It’s about what they’re using it for. I’m not giving money to you if you’re just using it to buy beer and drugs.

I did something stupid and helped the sperm donor(baby daddy) out wayyy in September, and I'm still waiting on the money back. Needless to say, I will never help him again. Considering that he haven't done anything for our child(even though she's 19) but yeah. Other then that, if I have it, I'll help out, but I tell them, I do expect my money back.

    for me, there’s a difference in letting someone “borrow” $10 and $1000. It’s not easy for me to save $1000 so to lend that to someone without expecting it back doesn’t sit well with me. if it’s an emergency and the $1000 is the solution to this emergency then I will lend it to them but we definitely will be working out a payment plan.

      THIS! I was reading all these comments about people “lending” family money but not expecting anything back and I was beginning to feel guilty, because I always want and expect my money back, even if it takes years. I work hard for that money. But maybe its because I’m not lending $10. I’ve borrowed anything from $200-$1000. Leant $1000 to my bestie, she’s basically my sister. We’re that close. And I’ve leant $600 to my blood sister. All in all, I’m defo owed more than 2k. Ain’t no way I’m just not expecting it back. I don’t pressure them for it but I’m not writing it off either. Is that bad? 😭💀
