It means you can use your own electronics, with an ESC that works well. The res3 system is pretty good on its own, but if you don't want to use it you've got a viable alternative from WPL. 👍
Good review. I do like a steady ESC for these small crawlers. Good price for this ESC. Although do like the Res V3 as I can using the same transmitter for all.
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 I did wonder, as you can run an external ESC from the RES-V3 if you could combine these two parts? The Res-V3 as the receiver & the latest ESC for good modulation? Seems a bit of overkill, but would be cheaper for a transmitter/receiver.
@@RC3DPrintAdventure I don't think there's much point. I find the res3 is up to the job. I think they added external ESC compatibility in case people wanted the run 3S etc. 👍
the WPL has been tuned and made specifically for torque and crawling..cant wait until they release some new vehicles because they are getting better by the day
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 really? Wow i haven't heard anything about that but it would be pretty kool. Im more a fan of the civilian vehicles but i might get one and paint it
so question, can you use this with res v3? i have thought about getting a new esc for a while now but not sure what i can or cant use its never really discussed
yup, the 4 dollar ESC's are notchy at the bottom end, "no go" to "go" is a jump. for traction, you should definitely try the clipped tires on widened factory rims. slice off inner |_| beads from 1 set, sand faces flat CA to outsides of another set. beads further apart, they load+grip much better, sidewalls less floppy too. old kit tires: remove angled 3 small dot rows, on the same line as them is the narrower outside corner lugs, trim off the 2x2 mm corners to leave the 4 point stars. that leaves the wider outside corners a fuller face to grab in with. the track width gains 5-6 mm, sidewalls more vertical, tires more square.. its not just more aggressive looking, its actually more aggressive after.
Wow awesome! Even the sound becomes different/smooth!
Yes it's a good little ESC! 👍
This was a much needed addition and it makes kit building even more desirable 👍👍👍👍

Thanks Tony. Always nice to have you in the comments! 👍😄

Hello my friend! Yeah it really does work well! 👍

Yes it worked a treat. 👍

Your more than welcome. It's a good piece of kit for the money! 👍

I'm a big fan of the res3, but if you fancy using different electronics then this little ESC is a safe bet. 👍🙋

@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 Hi can I use original radio with this upgraded esc..?

On the side of the E1 box is a photo of a B36 tank hauler and low loader trailer. Future model perhaps? ☺️

Very nice I love the c54 mine is super slow I use the gt3b and a 30amp esc 2 speed and portals with wpl wheel weights!!
That sounds serious stuff! 👍😄
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 thank you!!! kermits a beast no doubt come check em out sometime
@@bigesrcs Kermit! 😄 Hahahaha I will do. 🙋👍
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 yeah on of my followers on tiktok got to name him after I built him up and it's a fitting name 😆 🤣
I've got one of these on the way, I'll be dropping it into my C-14, which has one of those cheap esc's in it as well.
Hello Sir! Yes they are much better, I don't think you will be disappointed. So much smoother than the really cheap ones! 👍😉
Look great! what motor do you use?
still waiting my ESC to arrive
Hello! I use the two speed with a flysky transmitter and receiver. The gear change is slaved to channel three. 👍
Can this esc be used with the stock C54-1 controller?
I think it could be. You just have to plug the ESC into the original board. 👍👍
so question, can you use this with res v3? i have thought about getting a new esc for a while now but not sure what i can or cant use its never really discussed
I think you can yes. I'm sure someone at WPL told me you could.
Would it work with it's original remote?
I'm sure someone at WPL said you can use it with the stock board. 👍
The esc is waterproof?
I don't think it is, but you could make it waterproof.
Thanks
