I COMPLETELY agree that Tik Tok is overstimulating and emotionally debilitating. Thank you for sharing your opinion because I thought I was the only one.
You made this video just for me, didn't you 😅 Really needed this pep talk, thanks so much. I have had that book for years and have read it several times. Each time I thought, well, those lucky artists! They can show drawings and earrings and me, as a service provider, I sit at a computer all day with nothing to show at the end. I often get stuck on that 'what's the value?' question bc my inner critic takes the mic and yells at me 'nothing! noone cares!' and I leave it. Slowly I'm overcoming that though, your content helps me a lot, so thanks again
Latasha, get out of my head girl, Wow, I love when books are recommended especially when they benefit me at a certain time of my life. Love the fact that you not only explained the book, read snippets of the book but also related it to your journey and what your viewers (aka me) might be struggling with. Thank you! 🙏 😊
I didn't know if it was my age or what, but I never got on the Tik Tok wagon. I prefer longer content. I watch TH-cam to learn first and be entertained second.
Great, great, great episode Latasha. All your videos are always helpful, but I got super fun vibes here. Can see that you thoroughly enjoyed making this video, it's very evident in your body language..... 😀😀 I have read this book (in parts) many times, and always a new bulb goes off inside my head. Looking forward to your next book summary 🤩
Great video! I fell into the social media management world 4 years ago and now hitting a wall with content creation... Looking for more guidance and structure.
LOVE this episode! I am constantly telling my clients to be relatable - and this gave me so much new information when i tell them to show the messy, show the journey. And you are SPOT ON about every social media manager giving X tips on how to do Y. (If i see one more IG post about getting 100K followers in a month Ima scream) Also, ordered the book, can't wait to dive in!
Hey La! I appreciate you starting my day today with this inspiration! I love following people's journey! It is great seeing development and yes-we will learn from mistakes so showing that we make them, fix them and learn from them and then sharing shows how we grow! Great pep talk and love your transparency. I too love teaching what I know! Not stingy about it! Xoxo
I definitely needed this. I’ve been in a space of a creator block and I just had to tell myself to step back and ask myself, if “I’m putting too much pressure on myself to show up in a certain way”? (I.e. super cool edits and in depth scripts). I’m starting out “all in” - so I’ve shifted my mindset to experimenting and simply creating.
Love this book!! And your takes on it Random: I only ever read non-fiction, just didn’t like fiction… what I’ve since discovered is that my brain just doesn’t retain fiction in the same way (no diagnosis, just my brain). I started trying fiction on Audible and love it!! Still only “read” non-fiction but enjoy fiction differently. ❤
Another awesome episode of the Friday podcast Latasha. I need to get a copy of Show Your Work and thanks 👍 for the inspiration. Love 🥰 the Friday Podcasts and they are the highlight of my day. Love ❤ Latasha.
I feel better about not liking most social media now. My audience is largely Facebook and TH-cam, and I've never had a lot of love for Instagram or TikTok. I don't think there's anything wrong with either, they're just not my jam. And I feel like I need to learn them, but I think instead, I'll focus on the bare minimum, and stick where I like to be and my people are
Hey Latasha, how best would someone seek out a talented social media manager with a finance background? I am wanting to expand my business. Where do I go to hire the best people? Apart from looking on Upwork etc
It’s difficult because they always say “quality over quantity” and I would hardly call my progress quality 😂 I keep at it though because I genuinely like doing it BUT it’s not to say I don’t need a nudge a lot of the time!
I'm not sure what's been happening with TikTok within the past month. Ads all over the place. Buy this. Buy this! The Ads aren't high quality either. A bunch of graphics thrown together to attract attention. Then they want you to Sign Up for Selling through the Platform. Feels more like a Marketplace now.
This might have been the video that finally gets me to do the thing! (I’m even getting subscribers before I even post a video 🫠 so you’d think I could just go for it already 😂)

This was very helpful. I just ordered both books off eBay and look forward to reading them!

Excellent video. I love the process of documenting a journey! It has always hooked me in following and creator and keeping up with them.

Just ordered both Show your work and Steal like an artist. Thanks a lot for the recommendation Latasha. 🥰🥰
Oh my god this is really inspired me I'm a crochet designer and then on tiktok well and here basically everywhere🥴🤷🏾♂️
I’ve already ordered these books. Thank you this was a great episode as always! I’m a small self employed business and you’ve helped me so much ❤
I wish I had something of value to add, but I don't other than to say this was a very inspirational video and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
Great video and I bought the book. It’s good!
Thank you for this video, so many things I needed to hear.
Love your content! Im clueless and started working on a project as well. I learn every step of the way and by trial and error

Great Video...
and...looks like an excellent book.
Thank you for sharing always inspiring.
I bought the trilogy (steal like an artist, show your work & keep going) in 2020 and have been meaning to revisit them! this is definitely my sign 🥹

I'm just at a weird spot in my life. I'm changing careers and want to share the school process but it's been a struggle to put it down on paper.
