American Fool got me hooked on John Mellencamp. That's a fair old time ago. The Scarcrow album still makes the hairs on my arms stand up all those decades later.
That was an amazing record, and shocked me how strong it was all the way through. I didn't think he could top it, but Lonesome was just as good. He had a string of excellent albums to rival most rock icons. To come out with guitar and fiddles records in the 80's was gold, in the era of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, George Michael, U2, etc.

Just got tickets to see him at the Masonic temple in Detroit June 17th 2023. That will be my 10th time seeing him. Sounds just as good as the first time in 1987 Lonesome Jubilee tour Joe Louis arena.
