Probably the thing I most adore about the SC injustice line is that they didn't just start out with a Batman and Superman like everyone else but instead gave us high end representation of beefy characters that other import companies wouldn't even consider making figures of.
Which is why we must support. Grabbed 4 myself already
What I love is how Ares' face is barely visible through the helmet and looks shadowy and featureless due to the eyes contrasting with his skin. Then when you remove it, you can see his face just fine. Using the paint colors to cast an illusion is genius. Whoever painted this figure did a flawless job.
This looks like the Final Boss of Golden Axe.
Man they should really make the injustice scorpion. Really love his design in the game!
I like a lot of the injustice 2 over the Injustice 1 designs because they dialed the over-designed characters back by a LOT. I like a few IJ1 designs but that’s it lmfaoo
I like seeing redesigns for characters, keeps it fresh and you can also see where the inspiration from the original comes from
Dude everyone says you are too negative, but I feel like the community is falling apart without people like you that are willing to say things as they are, personally I'm slowly pulling out of collecting, it's getting too crazy
I don't agree with every review from Anthony but I respect him and his videos because he's honest when a figure is bad. A lot of youtube reviewers are friends or got connections with the toy companies (Hasbro, Mezco, etc) so they tend to not give honest reviews for figures and are clearly biased. There are figures that I thought were great and Anthony thought they sucked or figures he thought were good but I thought were bad. With Anthony, you'll be getting a honest review.
@@blackcomicnerd3657 It goes beyond that, the strategy is, to engage with the community in a way that the community gets behind what the companies are doing and not the companies giving the community what they want, for example those Marvel Legends trash wolverine pack, no one wants that but since they give the "reveals" to some TH-camrs they didn't criticized them that much

I know y’all are talking about D amazing because he’s always positive about figures he’s honest with problems as well the difference is he doesn’t bitch about them like Anthony again he’s honest in his reviews as well and says he understands if people wouldn’t want to buy it because of the issues,he’s honest but does it in a positive way not crying about it like anthony does and the bad thing about it is that Anthony’s fans don’t have their own opinion they always dick ride Anthony and trash talk the figures

His cape looks like the same sack they use for gifts from Amazon. I like the pizazz of the redesign. Great review, Anthony!

you're right, the cape does look like a sack, but man, is this a gorgeous looking figure.
Had the same issue with the cape as you in the same spot with the broken wire. Ended up removing the cape, actually looks better without!
Seems to be some widespread QC issue, mine is busted at the same area too….
I’d say the redesigns have become Iconic in their own way looking back. The figure also looks better than it’s source material. Cool to see it

I love Ares, Harley Quinn and Killer Frost designs in the first game.

It looks like a Action Figure of a Cosplayer. Everyone can decide if this is a good or a bad thing.
Injustice has some nice designs. My favs are Red Hood (best Red Hood design in my opinion), Swamp Thing, Bane from Injustice 2, Subzero, Grodd, and many others. I hope they keep making figures of the games and end up being awesome like this Ares.

Anthony I just found that neca masked scar predator.... for 40 bucks in an obscure comic shop here in the Netherlands! Still can t believe it!!!! One of my first breaks price wise in collecting.

Anthony, I was always curious about the different plastics say Storm Collectables uses for their figures opposed to the plastics that someone like Hasbro uses in their figures? Hardness, texture etc. If they do, I'm assuming the do, what are the reasons? I know there are cost reasons. I'm more interested in functionality reasons. Thanks.
Damn. Eventhough i dont know anything about this character, id get him if i had the money. He looks metal as hell.

Jokers insurgency outfit is amazing and just screams the character doomsday looked better then he ever had before in my opinion wish he woulda had boots nightwings outfit was an amazing design both for Damien and Dick Superman looked awesome in both his standard outfit and his regime outfit from the first game is by far my favorite evil Superman outfit

Redesigns? i would say i on the side of liking, for me if i wanted to see a classic look ill read the comics, or play dcuo

I'm fairly hit-or-miss on the Injustice 1 designs, some work better than others. I love the Injustice 2 designs (except Joker, he looks like trash), they toned the aesthetic down somewhat and I think it really matches well with the universe of the games. Off-topic, but I really love the expanded roster of the second game, getting to play as characters like Atrocitus, Dr. Fate, Blue Beetle etc (it's why I've always loved the Lego games, not necessarily the most challenging but the depth of playable characters is unmatched).
I'm so happy Storm nailed this figure. Ares was one of my mains in the first game, and I was really looking forward to this release. I really like that between the inhuman nature of Ares and Darkseid, and how Storm implemented the designs, they look "real" enough to fit in with my DCEU figures, since we don't have any quality figures of the movie versions (I think the Injustice designs look much better than the film ones to be honest).

Injustice 1 has only a few designs I actually like. Most of the characters in that game had too much going on. I'd say that I do like most of the Injustice 2 designs.

Injustice had mostly good designs, but I could see how some would think it's over the top.

I agree with your comment about the Injustice designs. Many of them are overdone, but several of them are very, very good. I really enjoyed the designs for Hawkgirl, Superman, Ares, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Solomon Grundy, for example.
Injustice 2 took that overdone look, and ramped it up to 11 though and I don't know if I cared for any of those designs.

This is a case of outstanding figure of a character with zero appeal for me but your review just made me consider to buy it. Good work like always dude.
I like a lot of the costume designs in Injustice 1, especially with characters actually having multiple different costumes. Regime Harley Quinn is easily one of my favourite designs for the character! By comparison the designs in Injustice 2 were 100 times worse, made even worse still by the fact that they replaced the alternate costumes with a useless customization system that doesn't let you fundamentally alter the look of the character. I haven't bought any of the Storm Injustice figures since they haven't made any characters I really care for, but I am thankful they are mostly focusing on Injustice 1! I'd love to see them make Lex Luthor next.
I want to buy a Storm collectible dc Ares, but I'm hearing from someone that in countries with high heat it will make the rubber get damaged over time, is that true?
I kinda doubt you could live in an environment that would hurt plastic from heat

Is Ares the same height as Storm Collectibles Darkseid?
No. He's much shorter
I like how this scored 8/10 across the various categories, but got a 9/10 for its final score; heh. But it's well deserved and the final product is definitely greater than the sum of the various categories it was graded in. I'm a fan of Storm; I just wish they'd release more female characters, I'm still waiting on a default-costume SFV Cammy.

i really really REALLY dislike injustice redesigns, especially superman's costume... but they're great for action figures, i gotta say. xD Almost as if these designs were created with this in mind. x)))
Overall I love the Green Lantern, Nightwing, Ares, Lobo, Aquaman is one of the best and Doomsday. I hate the Flash from both games and The 2nd game Joker is bad

They showed Injustice 1 Batman at some con a couple years ago, both Insurgence and base Batman from Injustice 1. We have to wait and see
The injustice designs are horrible in my opinion. Especially for Batman and Superman
I love Batman and Superman designs from Injustice 1 while I hate their Injustice 2 base costumes (batman's symbol has no shape wtf and superman has this tiara thingy going on)
Then we have a great Flash and Green Lantern design in one game and a terrible one in the other game (an this happens with almost every character honestly)
Most of the Injustice designs are horrible aside from a few like Ares, Dr Fate, and Grodd.
Flash is one of the dumbest looking guys I've ever seen in Injustice
