Thank you for the Dahle pencil sharpener demo. You gave a nice demonstration of the sharpener and it’s features. I appreciate a demo that doesn’t include a ton of personal history that is off the topic. I think I am now sold on the Dahle sharpener.
Over the years, I've watched a lot of your video's, some of them more than once. I've been wanting this sharpener for a long long time, I saw it on your channel first. Well since the launch of Amazon in South Africa, I have place my first ever order on Amazon, and it's the Dahl 133 pencil sharpener. I hope to get it tomorrow. I hope to also receive my first Temu order by next week. I did order a desk sharpener.
I’m so glad this video was helpful for you. It seems you’re not the only one that doesn’t know to pull the front out. That is my reason behind making videos like this. I’m so glad you were able to figure it out.
I just received my Dahle pencil sharpener.. I absolutely love it.. I can’t hardly believe how sharp you can get the point without grinding half of your pencils away!! Thanks for sharing this incredible sharpener..😀
Just received my new Dahle sharpener which I got b/c u raved about it so much. No instructions whatsoever. I think that's unprofessional of the company, but it came n a different box so it might have been a return. (Probably b/c of the lack of instructions). Went 2 this vid and watched. Got out an unsharpened prisma. Turned it 2 the sharpest, and WHOA!!! Totally blew me away. I'm n love!
I ordered this pencil sharpener last night due to some comments in your pencil sharpener video! I can’t wait to get it and do an unboxing video on it. Yippee! Great video Pamela!
From the little bit I've used it so far, I think it's my new favorite. Time will tell for sure. Make sure you check out my previous video on all the other sharpeners! Thank you for watching.
I like the blunt for my little ones that likes to use the pencils like their bigger siblings without the sharp point..:) but Yes for the older children's work the sharp point is a must...:) Tx for the awesome review.. blessings from South Africa
Great review! Thank you very much for sharing this, I’m new to the colouring books world so really appreciate your tips 🤗 I will defo get this sharpener, great results and not pricey at all! Thank you very much!!
Thanks for the video. I'm so excited because I just got mine a few minutes ago and can't wait to use it. I see that even the Bruts sharpen well. Good to know because I find they just break on an ordinary sharpener. Thanks again.
I have exactly same experience as you with sharpeners and found the points were too sharp and tip always broke off this Dahle looks like the perfect sharpener. thanks so much for the review have ordered it!
I am so glad that my review was helpful. I love that I can show everyone a demonstration on video since I think that is so important when trying to decide what we feel is best for our situation when it comes to supplies. Have a wonderful day and thank you for watching.
I love the point that it gives on even the cheapest crayons to the most expensive, however it was very difficult to use at first because it didn't have any instructions 😭
Hello hun thank you for the video I loved watching it but could I as please ask does it take of a lot of the pencil shavings as I have had some sharpers before and it ate my pencils thank you
This video is super old and I am thinking you mean the clamp that puts the sharpener on your desk? I didn't even remember it came with one because I don't ever use it. I like to be able to move my sharpener around and place it where I need to.
Pamela, you are really good at making videos (and coloring with pencils too😉). I keep being tempted with this sharpener. I like to color with my feet up while sitting in the recliner. I am wondering what kind of leverage and surface the Dahle 133 needs to operate. Are you sitting or standing? Could it be held down tight enough against the arm of the chair, or against a bent knee, or on top of a hardcover book in my lap?
New subscriber here 😀.. I found your videos last night and really enjoyed your teaching style..thanks for the sharpener review, I am always on the lookout for the best another one that doesn’t chew up all the pencils..😊
I just received my Dahl pencil sharpener. I do like it however I find it really hard to insert the pencil through that first hole that seems to have a hard rubber piece to go through. Can anyone give me tips on how to make it easier?
@@PamelasPassionforPencils Yes Pamela! thank you so much, the pencil slid right in. I did not receive any directions with mine. This sharpener really does need them. thanks again.
Dahle do three different sized rotary pencil sharpeners. The 133 is the smallest and cheapest of the three the other two being the 155 and 166 which I have had for about 18 months. It is amazingly good especially as I sharpen PASTEL pencils which will break at the drop of a hat and are a whole different ball game to coloured pencils, and anyone painting in pastel will understand this comment. I think I have tried every type of pencil sharpener known to man and the rotary type of pencil sharpener is the way to go. I did a fair bit of research before I purchased my Dahle rotary pencil sharpener, including reviews and this company seem to come out the best for quality. With the price you pay for pencils, who cares what a pencil sharpener costs.
I have one problem with this sharpener, when I start sharpening the black little thing slides close when sharpening, and I tried about an hour straight to get this thing so stop sliding and have a blister, why am having this problem?
You mean the button that you push in? It will close once the pencil is sharpened to the setting you have selected. You can change the setting at the back of the sharpener with the silver dial.
Love my Dahle. I would probably still be using the T'gaal if I was transporting my coloring books and supplies since it is portable and has a compartment for the shavings. I have three t'gaals and they have all gone dull very quickly breaking my Prismacolors. They are great when they're new though.
Hi, I loved your video. I’m thinking about buying this sharpener, and I want to know if after of sharpen a lot of pencils, it’s still working this well. Thank you!
Hi, I have this sharpener, but I've noticed that it sometimes doesn't stop when the lead is done, so it eats the pencils. Am I doing something wrong? BTW, you can use it closed when you need to sharpen just a little bit when colouring.
You are using it the right way. It stops for some pencils and doesn't stop for others. It works well with all my pencils though no matter which ones they are. I always make sure I stop it rather than waiting for it to stop on it's own.
The marks on my pencils are from a previous pencil sharpener I was using. It was the Derwent. So many have had the same issue with that sharpener. I love my Dahle 133!
I received mine and I tried it out on my prismacolor premier and was absolutely so upset, because it chewed off so much of it. I also tried it on my Star Joy Gold with the same result. It's boxed up to send back. I don't understand what could have happened. How much of the pencils you sharpened were gone afterwards? I'm curious to know this answer. Maybe if I'm doing something wrong, then I could fix it and order another one. They look awesome on this video review.
Mine keeps shutting as I sharpen. Should I return it? It just won't stay open! EDIT. After a half hour if messing with it I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was pushing the button wrong. I was releasing the pencil rather than holding it in place. I'm an idiot lol 🤦 Now that I got to work I'm LOVING it!
Oh I'm sorry. I don't use any electric sharpeners, especially for my colored pencils. If I find one that works well, or see another colorist recommend a good one, I will let everyone know. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the Dahle pencil sharpener demo. You gave a nice demonstration of the sharpener and it’s features. I appreciate a demo that doesn’t include a ton of personal history that is off the topic. I think I am now sold on the Dahle sharpener.
I have this pencil sharpener and couldn't figure out how to use it!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you for the demonstration!!
I just got my Dahle 133 today and learned how to use it with your video. I love it! Thanks so much for the video.😊
Enjoy it! It’s a wonderful sharpener! I’m glad my video was helpful. Happy Coloring!
Just received my 133 sharpener. Once I figured out the idiosyncrasies of the sharpener, it worked like a champ. Thank you for the recommendation!

Thanks so much for the video, mine arrived today, what a brilliant pencil sharpener!!
Thank you for making the Dahle 133 so clear. I actually thought mine was broken, but now I see that I wasn’t pulling the front out.

I just bought it, it is honestly the best thing!
LOVE this sharpener!

Got mine today. Love it!
How exciting!
Thank you for the wonderful recommendation. I received my sharpener in the mail today.
Thank you. I really don’t like the super long pointy leads so the adjustable knob is what I’m looking for.
Luv this video Pamela.
You are right, this sharpener is a game changer! My Prisma Colors no longer crumble, even at the sharpest setting! Thanks for the recommendation!!!
It’s wonderful! Glad you’re loving it too!

OMG ! I just had to get this sharpener, ordered on Amazon, now hurry up and wait 🥴🤩🥰 thanks for the review!!! Cool 😎
My Dahl 133 is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I’m so excited! 💜 Hadassah
Thanks sooooo much for the recommendation! Omg! Even my Bruts sharpen pretty 🥰. Thanks again 🙏
my Dahle is 6 years old - and it works like the very first Day. My Hero for Prisma and all the other Pencils❤
Thanks for attesting to long term reliability, I’m thinking of getting one.

I knew you would love this one! Isn't it great? I do still use my tiny Kum sometimes, though. Very portable.
I do love it! But, I still love my KUM just as much. I still need to use the Dahle for a while so time will tell. Thanks for watching!
Looks really xlnt.
I love the point that it gives on even the cheapest crayons to the most expensive, however it was very difficult to use at first because it didn't have any instructions 😭
What about sharpening Brutfuner Square?
This I like, and can afford this one !!! Thanks for the review!!! 👏
Hello hun thank you for the video I loved watching it but could I as please ask does it take of a lot of the pencil shavings as I have had some sharpers before and it ate my pencils thank you
No it doesn’t sharpen away your pencil. It’s a fantastic sharpener.
Thank you so much for your help
How do you use the clamp?
This video is super old and I am thinking you mean the clamp that puts the sharpener on your desk? I didn't even remember it came with one because I don't ever use it. I like to be able to move my sharpener around and place it where I need to.
Where is it made in
It is great but mine stopped working after sharpening 5 pencils.any suggestions?
Hi. Which sharpener would you recommend for the Caran d'Ache Luminance Colored Pencils looking for your advice cause these pencils are so expensive.
Dahle makes awesome products. Their paper cutters are the best, even for cutting chipboard.
Which Dahle cutter do you like?
Pamela, you are really good at making videos (and coloring with pencils too😉). I keep being tempted with this sharpener. I like to color with my feet up while sitting in the recliner. I wanted to ask a question. What is the difference of Dahle 133 Personal (Gray ) vs Dahle 133 Persoanal Special Edition (Black )? Thank You !
There isn’t a difference
Very good review, to the point
(Pun intended). I have ordered one via your link. Hope it works well for me.
You will love it. It's the best pencil sharpener ever. Thank you for supporting me and using my links. I appreciate you! Happy Coloring!
Does the sharpener leave bite marks when it grips the pencil? (Are there rubber or soft grippers?)
This sharpener has never put marks on any of my pencils. It's wonderful.
I just got the 155 but I think I like the 133 better because it holds pencils better

I am so glad you found my channel and are enjoying it. He will love this pencil sharpener. It has saved my prismacolors!
Wonderful series😉
Thank you! Please let me know if there are any other sharpeners you may want to see me review. Thanks for watching!
I just received my Dahl pencil sharpener. I do like it however I find it really hard to insert the pencil through that first hole that seems to have a hard rubber piece to go through. Can anyone give me tips on how to make it easier?
Did you push the "button" on the side and pull the front piece forward before inserting your pencil?
@@PamelasPassionforPencils Yes Pamela! thank you so much, the pencil slid right in. I did not receive any directions with mine. This sharpener really does need them. thanks again.

Dahle has another sharpener it's model 166 I've only seen one demo of it and it went by really fast but it looks like there's a lot less fuss with it
I’ve have the Dahle 166 as well. I’ve not reviewed it quite yet.
Dahle and Tgaal..... the best IMHO!!

Yes. It’s a fabulous sharpener. I’ve had it for a couple months now and I use it every day. Even if something does go wrong with it, it is very cheap.

Would a faber castell pencil sharpner be ok for prismire clouring pencils i have a 3 hole pencil sharpner thank you
I have not tried the Faber Castell Pencil Sharpener yet so I really can't say. Thank you for watching!
I have two Faber Castell pencil sharpeners with two holes and they work perfect for the prisma pencils
@@cristaluna7679 thank you for your help i just didnt no if it was ok to use
Is it better practice to sharpen more often? My goal is to waste as little as possible.
It would be nice if it had a suction cup on the bottom, not everyone is coloring on a table where you can attach this sharpener.
I move mine around so much even being at my desk. I never end up attaching it to my desk. Happy Coloring!
Mine keeps shutting as I sharpen. Should I return it? It just won't stay open!

Wow! Canada: $58.79 for a Dahle 133 sharpener today on Amazon. Way too expensive.
Aww! I'm so sorry it is so expensive. I know so many things are so much more expensive in Canada than here in the US.
I wish it was electric! The cranking motion when sharpening pencils makes my shoulders hurt so bad... :*(
Oh I'm sorry. I don't use any electric sharpeners, especially for my colored pencils. If I find one that works well, or see another colorist recommend a good one, I will let everyone know. Thanks for watching.
