finally got around to watching part 2. you made it look easy (not so much for a newb like me, but your succinct instructions made it a lot easy"er" than it would have otherwise been for me). looking to maiden her tomorrow morning, the forecast is calling for a gorgeous day. thx again dave, you da man!
i have a pz p-47 and t-28... looking to get into a more aerobatic plane since im all over the sky that way.... trying to decide on the next: dynam peaks bi plane, dynamo sbach 342, or this yak 54... any advice? and thanks ahead of time
Thanks for the fast reply. So far this plane is not fun for me to fly. I am going to move the motor forward as I already cut the slot for the battery to be right behind the motor and it's still tail heavy but I don't want to add weight. This plane has killed my confidence : (
I see this is an old thread but I just finished assembly on mine but haven't done the maiden flight yet. I ran into some problem with the linkage stoppers, for some reason they would not even begin to stop the servo rod from moving in the linkage stopper. I want to thank you for the video, I hater to read directions and since I misplaced the directions you were my only source of info. Keep up the good work.
Not so good linkage stoppers. Guess you can replace them with something better. Thanks for the remark. I am the same way and often I make movies so I can remember what I did :-)
Hi. I have a question...maybe several. I have been flying 3d for a couple years and I fly foamies mostly. I just test flew my Yak 54 today and it was so unstable that it took all of my confidence away : ( I set the cg at 90mm but I think it is still little tail heavy? The main problem I am having is the roll. I am used to flying 100% throw and only 10% expo in my other planes. I tired dialing this one down to 30 deg and 50% expo but still unstable in roll department. to be continued..
Ran out of characters in first post. So...could it be that my ailerons are both set a little bit negative (Droop) ? I have flown my friend's Extra 330 (Tech one, same size) and it seems a lot better? Any help would be so appreciated.
hey, by the way, don't know if I've mentioned it or not...the fades and transitions on the production of this video are superb, imo. easy to watch and very seamless. my next project?...learn how to do that. :)
Do you have Magix MEP plus edition? It's easy to do with MEP and I have a tut on it. Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 PLUS Tutorial for the Beginner (All steps to make movies)
***** thx, I've been meaning to improve. mine are like watching long, droning super8 home movies from the '60s, up at the lake. haha. i'll give that tut a watch.

Maiden flight video?
Have fun!
ah haha..not likely. give me a few and then look for a vid.. thx, bro.
Excellent video. I just bought the yak 54and for sure this video will be very helpful
Thanks for this video. I have a yak54 sitting right here. Do you think hxt 900 servos will be strong enough for this plane?
this video is going to be a big help. great job thanx
When installing the wing do you glue the wing joint? Or just push the wing together and glue the wing edges and fuselage?

Are you flying with the original prop? Do you have the make and part number of a prop you can recommend?
Still using the same GWS EP9050 propeller,
Thank you I have some on order.

So the plane didn't come with servo extensions for the ailerons?
Great video. Thank you.

Sure!
***** awesome ... do the push rod connectors come with the servos?
leefuji Yes, there were some in the box.
To bad they don't make them any more
The Yak54 is still one of my most used planes. Great in the wind.
