- These Bar Rescue recon spies didn’t know what they were in for when they sat down at these failing bars, but what they got was a whole lot of attitude from angry owners.

Jon going from calling Mike an ass 20 times to personally handing him $10000 is still one of the most satisfying Bar Rescue moments, shame that place closed down.
It did? Well, isn't that just too bad! I don't give a shit! Not after the way he treated those people at the beginning! He's a fucking old racist asshole and he gets no sympathy from me!
When did they close? Was it because of Covid?
@@KevinMondello1996 Yes early 2021 because of Covid.
@@universe7soap And nothing of value was lost!
Poor Mike. I hope he’s onto better things following the closure :(
Imagine being $1M in debt and trying to stop customers buying drinks because you don't like them. 😂
Ikr, its beyond stupidity.
That would explain the $1M in debt. That and being located on Central Ave in Albuquerque. Not a sure thing to fail, but it sure as hell doesn't make It easy
Feel bad for the lady working the bar in the first clip. She seems so nice, I can't imagine how awkward it must've been for her
Literally even the other bartender seemed horrible to work with
She Hella fine
I feel bad for the 2nd guy with black shirt and black hat. Everyone was hating on him and he didn’t do anything 😂 that one was literally for views and they used him
I love it how the owners blame the customers or staff as to why they’re failing but in reality it’s their attitudes towards their customers and staff.
I love how Jon always says to that, “So YOU’RE the one who is failing since you’re responsible for making sure they do their job!”
Like Jon said
"Bars are easy to fix, people aren't"
Exactly. Because the customer knows nothing. 🙄
John Taffer said he’s disrespecting his customers right in front of Gordon Ramsey.
@@solomonburgess8196 as if Gordon ramsay would be one to talk
I wanna see Jon Taffer and Gordon Ramsey team up. Imagine JT walking in, the manager and staff try to escape through the back and GR cuts them off and asks them “where the F do you think you’re going?”
One would have to wonder just how bad a bar/grill would need to be to warrant this level of terror...
Jon was on an episode of Hell's Kitchen, as one of the celebrity guests at the charity dinners they do sometimes
My God! Humans are mere mortals, they could survive that about as well as they could survive the meeting of a gas giant and a black hole!
I heard they did but my anxiety is stopping me from going there 😂
Cringe
That “social media” guy clip was crazy. Honestly pretty satisfying seeing an entire bar turn on him like that
He never deserved a bar with THAT attitude.
@@harrisonbetker2271no he didn’t
half the customers were being just as bad and inflammatory. The dude saying he was gonna time him for 2 minutes. like imagine having a customer like that. lol
The intro made me lose it, that was the meekest and gentlest complaint (not to mention fair)... And he explodes like they spat on his mother's withering gravestone.
I agree first owner handled a lot of it wrong, but that group of costumers at the table showed scum entitlement, saying “time him”
You don't see his face once as he's talking, there's no way he actually reacted that badly all the audio was just snagged from other clips to make him seem unreasonable
@@MrHendrix17you’re unreasonable. I go ALL IN.
Here’s the thing and I’m speaking from personal experience: If you don’t have decent people skills or just don’t like being around people in general, don’t start a business in the hospitality industry. I can tell, it requires you wanting to be engaging with customers and have a good personality. Something I know I wouldn’t be able to do unless I commit to a 100% attitude change and willingness to be near people.
Exactly
That’s the issue: so many of these folks go into it thinking “well it’s just beer and a few bottles of alcohol” not realizing that what they want is a club house, not a bar/restaurant.
😂 True
The crossover we all need is Gordan and John going in on owners 😂
Angry Englishmen + Angry New Yorker = hell on earth😂😂
Add Tabatha Coffey...
The U of M grad students saying, “Uhm… I’m sorry,” is the most Michigander thing I’ve ever heard on TV.
When someone asks you for water and that pushes you over the edge. You shouldn't have a business that serves thirsty people.
Cant imagine how the wife felt watching her husband give some random women more attention than he’s probably given her in months.
The way Jon walks in, what a king
Dudes a coke head Pos lol
"I'm insulting YOU because you insulted THEM" Jon standing on business 😌 💅
That Old dude should also be glad that the customer was a recon spy for John taffer... I feel if this was just an ordinary dude in this old bag treated and talked to them and especially put his hands on the guy thing's would have probably gone a different way.
Not sure if the channel operator will see this or not, but a clip idea I had the other day would be something like "The Best/Most Informative Facts on Bar Rescue" where they cutaway briefly to showcase science on certain things like; why it's important to shake drinks or properly defrost meat or recently the details about a gum line on a pizza. Stuff like that.
I second this idea.
All of the info about beer kegs and temperatures are fascinating too. Before this show I had no idea that warm beer makes it go flat.
When you see that Jason aka jay from Hell’s Kitchen is one of the recons on the list 😆
Oh, you owner, are not the final boss for that man. He’s been through Gordon Ramsay.
There’s no chance that’s jay from Hell’s Kitchen
@@Yamommasblubber he was the runner-up for season 7
And he’s now back at Hell’s Kitchen as one of Gordon’s sous chefs.
@@Yamommasblubber Ramsey called him smurf due to his hair color
3:55
That laugh.
😂😂😂😂
The last guy went to prison for 5 years for not paying his taxes, karma on him.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people think they can run a bar or a restaurant just because they've been in one a lot. Same with teachers, everyone thinks they know that job as well because they went to school. A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing - Dunning Kruger effect!!
Small side thought. If you can tutor it still doesn't mean you can teach. Those are different animals.
@@supergluehotty in what way?
@@brigeen1 management is a big big factor. You don't really manage much in a one on one environment. Then there's conveying your point. It will be different in both scenarios. Personally I found I can tutor, but classroom teaching was very unsuccessful.
As a teacher, I agree with you 100%
Maybe that owner didn’t handle it right but the guy saying “someone pull a phone out and time him” showed me the type of costumers those people are
Exactly. Granted they didn’t have a good experience their first visit so I can understand the attitude back but you can tell there snotty and demanding customers no matter what
I agree. Max was an ass but the guy saying that snide comment was an ass too.
Agreed.
Agreed and I bet Taffer loved it though
THANK YOU, they also came with the intent to make that night hell for the Owner, imaging dealing with that on the constant basis
Taffers face at 3:56🤣
Haha 🤣
All these owners didn’t deserve to even OWN a bar due to terrible customer service
Idk I think those first costumers were assholes, owner wasn’t great but he made an effort when it was at the cooks expense, they constantly tried to be condescending even saying “pull A phone out to time him” scum entitled people, both parties are wrong.
@@ed2176 shut up😂
@@ed2176 who the hell said anything about 'not liking america'? where are you getting this from?
@@ed2176 WTF. lol
the look on his face has me laughing so hard🤣

"Where's the *mental giant* who runs this place?" might be one of my favorite Jon Taffer quotes ever.
Jon Taffer would’ve been a good Penguin in The Batman. More aggression, more brains
He's too tall and imposing to be a Penguin. Now give him a bic razor and he could do a mean Wilson Fisk
Lol, I actually loved Colin Farrell as the penguin in the Batman but you’re spot on
14:35 for those looking for the old fart that tried cutting his customers off
I love seeing men stand up for women and women standing up for each other and men. SHIT IS AMAZING!!!
If I was the guy that the “asshole” mike guy laid hands on , I would’ve decked him. He had no right to even touch the customer .
I've never wanted to "deck" anyone, but the way I felt in that moment I saw him doing that, I instinctively felt like decking him. Like it would just be an uncontrolled response to that. The nerve.
@@ChristelVinot me either . But he had some big ass balls of steel to even touch the guy . He should be kissing every persons feet that walk in those doors cuz they’re putting money in his pocket that doesn’t even pay any bills whatsoever.
Same here. If he did that to the wrong person, he would have probably have been knocked out honestly or worse.
@@HaLLiEB85 Balls of steel? Nah. Just a big bully trying to intimidate a young man. He's weak inside and needs to feel powerful, so he behaves like that. Bullies are always weak.
@@ChristelVinot he had tiny balls , like bb balls . Either way his old ass would’ve been laid out by the wrong person . I’m pretty sure he closed up anyways
"You said that to the wrong person..."
And then Jon Taffer walks in...
"Those are giant balls" 😂
"They are!" -the Bartender
That’s what she said
when everyone hates their manager and say he is an asshole is bad enough, when your own son calls you an asshole it should hurt you bad. this guy wont last in the business for long
3:55 his laugh killing me out here
16:00 that bartender girl trying to hold in her laugh just got me 😂😂
"Mental giant" is my favorite term Jon has ever used
Saying bad things about the customers destroys a reputation
No shit
I just realized how strikingly alike Jon Taffer looks to Gilbert Gottfried.
I can't unsee it now... XD
Not anymore 🤣
Mike seriously looks like someone I would like to deck, and I would if he spoke to me like he did that customer
And you'd go to jail for assault on the elderly and they'd kick your ass in jail for hurting the elderly they wont give a shit just cause he spoke to you rudely
I can't help wondering how many of the owners woke up with a horse's head in their bed.
Dude hella good at talking about but as soon as a customer wants him to back it up he wants security 😂 🤡🤡
24:24 she needs a divorce if he’s asking other females for their emails😂
I've met Foley a few times and he is one of the sweetest guys around
Good on those 3 dudes standing their ground vs Mike.
“I will love to hear how spectacular they were”
Most would of folded and be like : “they are are good now”
Why would anyone bother to support such business.
This is why most don’t say anything negative about the food…they just don’t come back. 🤷♂️
It’s that simple..it’s a service…thousands are competing with you
Thank you, I was wondering when the next compilation would be released!!!!!!
Yoooo he really asked those girls for their emails 🤣🤣🤣
"Nico I love your ✂️ salad"
She was an idiot for defending him and his failure
3:58 Famous food blogger that doesn't know how to chew with his mouth closed.
Max sounds like the "HOW CAN SHE SLAP" clown
The Jackie lady has the funnest expressions lol.
I came to watch this because of the older guy John being an a hole on a short. I loved it, asking the son is your dad acting like one or is he one. 💀💀💀🤣🤣🤣
Reasons why drunks shouldn’t own bars
If you own a bar or a restaurant with a bar and your bartender puts his tip jar next to the register...he's a professional bartender, because he's putting half the money in the tip jar.
I like how Max can yell and verbally abuse women but when men step up to him he's like "security!!!"
19:01 😂😂😂 Oh My For Tim first he didn’t know how to make the cocktails 🍸 second insulted his customers.
Mann this guy them to use their inside voice 🤣🤣
Thats something to discuss but diss out any customers is unreasonable
As a guy who’s in the service industry, they are making me memorize the menu to be able to do my job. If I as a server should know what’s in the food, you as a manager should too.
I dont know what they told you mike... 😂❤
Happy endings rock!
Shocking part was Max Zahir sure wrote negative comments on the media
Max is a bully. The type who refuses to take responsibility.
While rhe recon spy was rude the owner is a different level.
Long Island Ice Tea is a good test of any bartender. It is a common drink but easy to mess up.
The second one was ridiculous. Why would anyone do this?? Just causing drama. Typical of “reality” tv.
19:01 Bruh this ain’t a library
That part was absolutely mind-blowing. No fun allowed at the bar! Does the owner have some sort of sensory processing issue?
The biggest takeaway of this compilation: if a bar owner is named Mike, then he is probably an asshole who hates his customers.
And are in debt a million dollars
YUP
Bar Angry owners are just jerks for no reason about why they are working in bars that are failing. For Jon Taffer, he is angry to bar owners who are so angry, that they can't control their temper. 😒
They’ve got 100 camera angles but nobody knows they’re there????
Ok just a question... at Gutterballs why is dude serving drinks on a middleschool lunchtray instead of a cocktail tray with grip on the surface?
I feel so awful to witness wives see their husbands flirting with girls way younger than them while lying when their house is on the line. Pure evil
Did that guy say “copy” while undercover lol
if they get sick can they sue john for sending them in knowing something is wrong?
Hes so drunk he asked for those girls emails instead of phone numbers haha 😆
This is so satisfying. The shorts anger me cause they dont show the aftermath, so i just block the shorts now. But oh man, the full episodes HITTTT. No more shorts thank you :)
Goodfellas the bar.. need I say more.. I dont know all the ingredients... they fell off a truck.. whatsamattau eh!!! Friggin love it!!
Local restaurant bar burns down. News at 11
Jon taffer is one of my hero’s he is so dam funny
"Raise your hand if this place sucks"
✋️
When he yells all i hear is woody from toystory
He does pick the most obnoxious spies he could find.
Except for the last guys.
"You know who wears sunglasses inside? Blind people. And douchebags." ~Dean Winchester
14:14 Putting your hand on a customer. That's something.
Just saw a clip of this an had to find the episode lol
I'm curious..has every bar Jon "rescued" gone out of business..anyone know?
No even for the older seasons from a decade ago 30-40% is still open
@@universe7soap thank u..have no time to deep dive these bars..curious if it was Kitchen nightmare situation where almost all eventually went under. Be well
@@oped8423 Even in Kitchen Nightmares, many restaurants simply don't last forever. If Ramsay got them to survive for like another decade making money then that's damn fine work
@@onlyicedgarrett7791 exactly if you take 100 bars that were on the verge of failure and even 15 survive in a very tough market you've done very well.
Fun bags is definitely sleeping with Nico. 100%. And he thinks she’s into him. 😂
Damn, there’s an even funner bags at the next bar. 😂
0:52 They were on Mystery Diners.
The cameramen are the real spies.... Well done
3:54 Jon laughing
Wasn't the first owner (Capos Speakeasy) also on Mystery Diners???
Any links to the episodes ???
My salad has my name on it and was here for 20 years, so i have no idea if thwre are spices in it
I’m from Austin Texas. I take this as an insult to my hometown. What kind of owner runs a bar but doesn’t know how to make one drink 🍹. It’s disgrace to bar business. What a freeloader.
3:38 That's what she said
Jon seems like he was one of those friends from school if a friend of his was being bullied, he’d take care of the bully
Hard to feel bad for owners like this.
Instense Recon Spy vs. Owner head to heads | Bar Rescue
13:00mins in I believe
garbage bags are sprayed with chemicals to help speed of decay, all drinks had minor poising in them from that ice
900 restaurants within 3 miles is insane
That’s why I just ask for straight whiskey so I won’t be disappointed
Lost some respect for Jon in the clip with Max. Those "spies" went in there fully intending to start trouble. Granted calling that one woman the "C word" was out of line but she was definitely the "K word". Jon knows damn good and well he would have tossed people like that out of his own place.
You can stop kissing max's ass.
Max worked hard to earn the scorn of his customers long before they turned on him. Dude is a scumbag and his actions prove it.
That last girl is literally watching her husband cheat…
At the end, it was pretty much the Michigan alum versus the tax write-off
225g meatball LOL in sweden me make them 12-20 grams..
