- This video showcases the story of 10 Bollywood actors who died in young age leaving their families and fans, shocked and distraught. Apart from Guru Dutt biography, this video talks about the death of the following celebrities - Geeta Bali, Sanjeev Kumar, Madhubala, Meena Kumari, Vinod Mehra, Smita Patil, Jiah Khan, Divya Bharti and Sushant Singh Rajput or SSR. On 10 October 1964, Guru Dutt was found dead in his bed in his rented apartment in Bombay. Guru Dutt death was allegedly due to mixing alcohol and sleeping pills. Geeta Bali died on 21 January 1965 due to Small Pox. Sanjeev Kumar died on 6 November 1985, at the age of 48, after suffering a massive heart attack. Madhubala died on 23 February 1969, shortly after her 36th birthday. The cause of Madhubala's death was prolonged lung and heart illness. Meena Kumari died on 31 March 1972 due to liver cirrhosis. Vinod Mehra died of a heart attack on 30 October 1990. Smita Patil died on 13 December 1986 at the age of 31 due to childbirth complications. Divya Bharti died on 5 April 1993, aged 19, after falling from the balcony of her apartment in Mumbai under mysterious circumstances. Jiah Khan was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom of her family's residence in Juhu, Mumbai on 3 June 2013. SSR died by suicide at his home in Bandra, Mumbai on 14 June 2020, aged 34.

A great video.....good to remember these extraordinarily talented artists. Sushant's death is not a suicide....so much evidence and so much bungling of the case. Now, even Jiah Khan and Divya Bharti's suicides are being questioned . I pray that justice is served and these souls may rest in peace.

The most unique feature of Guru Dutt's filming was his sense of framing: he could imagine many sub-frames within a master frame. If you watch carefully the motor workshop scenes in
"Aar Paar" you will notice that if the whole structure of a taxi cab is the master frame, its windows serve as sub- frames, fulfilling all the requirements of visual composition. The songs of " Mr.& Mrs.55" are another exampl of his magical picturization.

I don’t think i have ever seen a woman more beautiful than Madhubala. I mean i never saw her in real, she died before i was even born, but on screen she’s just heart-stopping gorgeous.
Madhu Bala was pathan from a city called sawabi now in Pakistan, her father came from that city.

Khilona by Late Sanjeev Kumar was just awesome...
my attraction towards old movies was created by Sanjeev kumar's Sita Aur Geeta...it led to his attraction with movies like Naukar, Sholay, Andhi, Mausam, Angoor...i was desperately looking for Hari bhai's younger movies, because he was too good in playing "The old man", then I came across films like Anhonee, Khilona, Devi, Anamika, Anubhav, Manchali, Aap ki Kasam, for me these aren't any lesser than gold...i am so proud to say that yes, the person who opened the gates of older Bollywood for me is himself a hidden gem in today's era...so sad to say that people now only know him as Thakur from Sholay...❤

As for Meena Kumari n Madhubala, words will run out for their praise in most of the roles they had played.

Watching just few scenes and songs of Pyasa I was mesmerized and struck. This was when I was in 6-7th grade and didnt understand most of the movie. But just the visuals had me amazed.
Over the years I have just grown to love and appreciate Guru dutt movies.
I always miss Sanjeev Kumar. Feels like a personal loss☹ Loved him in Mausam, Angoor, Pati Patni aur Woh, Qatl, Namkeen .

I would like to share my memories, first impressions or lasting remembrances for each of the great artists you've covered here:
1. Guru Dutt | Loved him in the song Mohabbat Kar Lo Jee Bharlo & Yeh Lo Main Haari Piya from Aar Paar and have become his fan ever since 👌
2. Geeta Bali was so effervescent that I was in complete awe of her when I watched her song Tadbeer se Bigdi Hui from Baazi 😊
3. Meena Kumari was excellent and I loved her in Pakeeza songs, so graceful she looked despite the role she portrayed 👏
4. Madhubala was a beauty who looked beyond this world, one song that I remember for her wonderful expressions was Aaaiye Meherbaan from Howrah Bridge. It's a pity she & Dilip Kumar couldn't get married, only to go into depression during later part of her life
5. Sanjeev Kumar was one of the epitomes of acting, most I liked his work in Naya Din Nayi Raat & Mukti. Still remember my first song I saw of him from Baadal ... Apne Liye Jiye Toh Kya Jiye
6. Smita Patil was so versatile & beautiful at the same time, it's rare and hard to seee that often. Mirch Masala remains her top work for me 👌
7. Vinod Mehra was very charming 😍 Loved him in Bemisaal, Saajan Ki Saheli and my favourite cameo in The Burning Train. His last Patthar Ke Phool was amazing too 👏
8. Divya Bharti was absolutely top notch and would've gone to thrash all records with not only her innocent face, but fine acting as well. Alas !
9. Jiah Khan didn't do many movies, but yes looked promising to have done Nishabd and Ghajini special appearance 👏
10. Sushant Singh Rajput looked so smart, happy & content, and was fast moving up success ladder already having won millions of hearts in such less time, his death was hard to believe, with fans still fighting and finding it difficult to come to terms with it. Especially after his great work in Chhichhore which gives a message against suicide. Though I didn't see Dhoni yet, I became his fan after I saw Chhichhore movie. Great loss to industry 😢
All above in fact have done their bit for the industry with their contributions etched in minds of their fans and the industry alike. Thanks for putting this gem Rahoul Bhai 💎

I cannot forget her dance moves & expressions while performing 'Solaju Dhadki' , the iconic song. Very much saddened to hear her early death. Geeta Bali in Albela, is my favorite.

One correction. It was film "Seeta Aur Geeta" Not "Sholay" where Sanjeev Kumar fell for Hema Malini. And so did Dharmendra. It was the only film where they worked together. In "Sholay" and "Trishul" they don't have any scenes together.
Also Sanjeev Kumar did not die due to his failure with Hema Malini but his family had genetic heart disease . His 2 brothers, Nikul and Kishore also died young due to heart failure.. When Sanjeev Kumar visited USA , I saw his interview where he clearly said that he has "moved on" regarding Hema Malini.

🌿🌹 SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT was an icon. He died young not by suicide. He was cruelly murdered. His case is hanging fire. The truth of his death is being hidden unnecessarily whilst the criminals are roaming freely.

Madhubala's is the saddest tragedy of all. I was an infant when she passed but feel sooo sad for this great artist. All bcos of an idiot father she was robbed of love and happiness in her expected short life. Oh sweet soul may you be in eternal bliss.

One point regarding Guru Dutt. His elder son, Tarun Dutt also committed suicide in 1985. Also there were some talks regarding Guru Dutt being "rejected" by Waheeda Rehman, which drove him to heavy drinking.

One cannot forget the memorable film "Pyasa" produced, directed and acted by Gurudutt. In fact all films of Gurudutt are excellent. The young generation may take an opportunity to watch all his films. They will definitely learn so many technical skills, especially photography and music. Gurudutt was master of all frames involved in film making.
