Both Geeta Dutt and Guru Dutt are my favorite. The voice of Geeta Dutt was very melodious and she was very versatile singer. She could have given number of memorable songs. Other side Guru Dutt portrayed a story of a man and life of an artiste in his pictures so perfectly that we could relate those characters in to real life.
I wish they both had continued supporting and loving each other. We could have seen great movies and listened to more beautiful songs

A genuinely sensitive person, Guru Dutt wasn't cut out for the world he lived in. His creative genius found full freedom in his artistic ventures.

In short, he was a man of double standard and a hypocrite. He made good films but was not a good human being. How can we respect such a man in today's world or society? He lives behind very bad example of humen relationships that can be discouraging for people to fall in love . Feel very sad for Geeta duttji , who lost her identity and recognition due to her husband's evil and manipulative nature. Practically she was cheated and obstructed in her journey towards the top .

The truth is Miss Shweta, Guru dut 's movie with Waheeda Rahman was hit and himself being father of 3 children while Waheeda was 20 years old he started flirting with her to keep her with him.
Shweta Ji, Guru Dutt Ji didn't change his name.... at least not initially; his parents did.
You see, he was born on a Thursday, Guruvar. Once, as a child, he became seriously ill. Chances of his recovery were rather slim. However, he survived and got well. His parents attributed his recovery to no less than a Divine Blessing, and started calling him "Guru Dutt," as in God-Gifted. His birth on Thursday, strengthened the "divine angle."
His mother, Smt. Vasanti Padukone, in her memoirs, "Guru Dutt, My Son," the Hindi version of which was published in the mid-60's as a serial in the weekly "Dharmyug," with title, "Guru Dutt, Mera Beta," specifically, mentions this.
Incidentally, he was greatly influenced by the Bengali language, poetry, literature, music and the early Bengali films. With his "rechristened" name ending in "Dutt," it was often mistaken as his last name and he was assumed to be a Bengali. Eventually, he opted to carry "Guru Dutt" as his stage name when he was part of the Uday Shankar Dance Troop, and later retained it as his screen name. Geeta Ji, naturally, took Dutt as her married name.

His mother Vasanthi Padukone is a prolific writer of Kannada novels at those times...and definitely being her son - he would not have resteicted them, except for their own reasons also to cause enough tremors to his tender heart. Being sensitive person he was torn between UNTOLD intricacies of women thinking versus actions. No one can retrieve TRUTH now,, yet it is not fair to blame one such legend partially that too after soo long years. Both versions must be listened and thaliykn to ek hee haat se nahi bajthaa..🙏

What I recall is that the mother - as is natural - stood up for all the transgressions of her son; she specially described Geeta as "kaan ki kacchi" and that she was influenced by gossip and rumors.

Ironically its unbearable story & such a painful to know even their eldest son Tarun also committed suicide in the room of Geeta ji. We all know how great actor was Guru Dutt ji but his ego not only ruined such a nice family & on top of that Geeta Dutt abundace sacrifice to support the solidarty of family gone in vain just for Guru Dutt lust for beaitiful woman & in the last clever Waheeda Rehman who wanted to make use of Guru Dutt's fame to get ample recognition in the film industry which she got it & finally ditched Guru Dutt but the crack she masterminded in Geeta Dutt's family has already substantially grew up leap & bound & finally tragitically end of such a fantastic family. We miss you so much Guru Dutt ji & Geeta Dutt ji. Until now in the industry no one has filled the vacume created by you. You are immortal !

Sad to hear Geeta Dutt tragedy life and now I understand why Waheeda remain unmarried. Women like Waheeda have the experience of life and when they choose to live according to herself that's make her independent and self-sufficient. Waheeda got to see how men treat their wife and how they frame n blame women specially their wife for all their love affairs and lousy behaviour towards their family but will never accept their own faults.
