Hi, on my PC there is Optical S/PDIF port. Planning to buy JBL SB271 soundbar. One of the ways to connect it is Optical HDMI ARC.. I guess the port I have on the PC wont connect. Please suggest the way out. Thanks.

Yes if you have a device that have optical port for video you can connect without any audio extractor. This device is for such device which don't have optical or aux port.

When I connect SONY TV HDMI ARC or Optical to Amplifer ARC or Optical sound play but when i select 5.1 on OTT platform sound not play and destortion sond is played. Just let you know TV supports DOLBY DTS but receiver doent mention DOLBY but it's 5.1. Need your help to play 5.1 true on my amplifer. Will this convert work.. Appreciate and Thanks for your reply.

Sir i have give same connections as you suggested. STB to HDMi convertor to tv everything working flawlessly but sir when i switched off the tv .and when i turn on tv after few hours. Hdmi convertor other side not receiving signals quickly and i need to switch off tv again and then if i turnon its connecting whats the problem sir.please help me out

Initially when i connected it gave the surround effect but now not giving only front speakers sound is coming . Need help about the settings
I think you are directly connecting soundbar to airtel set top box using optical cable. in airtel set top box sound settings check dolby digital is selected and also in netflix app in audio settings 5.1 is selected. restart soundbar and airtel stb and check again.

Does this extractor really extract audio in 5.1 output or only stereo output when connected with laptop to extractor via HDMI and extractor to the soundbar via optical cable?
I have tested on streaming apps like netflix it is showing 5.1 badging and also tested 5.1 channel video clip on laptop, youtube all the sound output comes on five different channel. It is not dolby certified so may be it extract channels from hdmi and send to soundbar via optical.

Buy hdmi arc extractor to optical . I have same problem.so,i bought it . But remember buy only if you have 4.1 or 5.1 Soundbar . Because 2.1 soundbar plays only sterio even though theu support Dolby digital or digital plus or dts
@@bloodz4933 Thanks for the tip but unfortunately, I have 2.1 channel soundbar and it is MI soundbar, output is very minimal but the vocal clarity and for regular tv viewing it's really great. So that is why i want to use it but sadly this soundbar did not come with the remote control and I have to use TV remote to control it so do you have any suggestion which will work with my 2.1 soundbar( I am okay with the stereo sound, it's about controlling the volume)

This is not dolby or dts certified device it extract the channels and reproduce them to soundbar so you may feel any hardly difference between original dolby codec that was streaming. You will experience surround sound that is ok for such device.
no over optical you can get only 5.1 channel dolby, 4k with 120hz is also not possible. May be higher version will support. You even not get 120hz on video pass through soundbar. Only possible in gaming monitors and high end tvs.

@@Green_Arrow12 select hdmi as audio out as per your laptop, laptop can't understand that it is connected with soundbar it think it is a hdmi device.

you can not convert hdmi to hdmi arc but can convert hdmi arc to optical or hdmi to optical.
